UnNatural - A supernatural horror game - editing complete, beta testing over

The problem is that it is Jack and Denise fighting each other. No matter who I shoot I hit one of them and they brush it off and kill the other. Jack is my guide. If I shoot the big wolf I hit but find out I was targeting Jack. IfI shoot the small wolf I hit, but find out I was targeting Denise, who I shouldn’t know. If I wait it out Jack kills the small wolf. And if I use form the separate them, Jack is fight a lycanthrope

You take aim and pull the trigger, you watch as the bullet finds its target.

The smaller brown werewolf leaves its rival dead and slowly makes it way in your direction.

The bullet hits the red-furred werewolf just left of the heart. It didn’t stop it dealing a fatal blow to its smaller rival. It doesn’t come after you, it just sits watching you. You watch as the fur seems to melt off revealing a familar face…

“Denise?” you say,

“You’re lucky that wasn’t silver, aren’t I on your side?” asks Denise.

That’s what happens when I shoot the smaller one, despite not being in Beta and this never meeting Denise

Thanks that’ll help me I’ll fix it soon

@olo17jr

I think I found the error a missing *goto I’ve fixed that so hopefully the error will be gone.

Sounds great. :smiley: Is Ren the only spirit?

Yes originally there were a few, but the story changed and now Ren is the only one.

A pair of bugs I’ve stumbled on in the game:

  1. If you lose the fight to the bully, you still get the aftermath text about how the school is in awe of you for beating him up.

  2. The option you mentioned earlier for former beta members to carry silver/bronze prototype rounds into the gamma missions never becomes available. From what I can see, I believe this is because the beta variable isn’t defined in mygame.js, so its value doesn’t carry over into chapter two.

Also a suggestion:

It would be cool if you could get either the defense or skill options to defend yourself when talking to the bully doesn’t work. Just because you decide to talk to him first shouldn’t mean you have to drop your guard and let him hit you. Offense would probably not be an option since the bully is the one going on the offense.

@P_Tigras

Thanks for pointing those out. Strange as the hybrid rounds showed up last time I tested it. I’ll have another look. Im going to improve the school part and actually branch it off. some variables will change to try and tidy up the code for me so ill add the option to defend yourself if you try and talk to him/her.

Edit just checked the beta variable is in mygame.js so ill have to double check the scene itself

@Nocturnal_Stillness

Hmmm…it’s been some time since I tested the hybrid rounds. I should have mentioned it earlier. It looks like you’ve fixed it since. Your mention of them reminded me that I hadn’t mentioned them to you previously. So I brought it up without checking to see if that issue had been fixed in the interim. Sorry about that.

@P_Tigras

Don’t apologize I’d rather check an error I’ve fixed already than miss one. :slight_smile:

@everyone

Was there any choices where you wish you had an option to do something else?

For example:
P_Tigras mentioned being able to defend yourself when the bully attacks if you try to talk.

I’d like that one. It was kinda sad that I got beat despite training just because I didn’t want to be a bully

The next update will be a big one as I want more diversity in a playthrough and one choice that will be a difference will be the school exam as I’m going to add another two colleges so depending on how you do affects where you go and each college will have different people to interact with.

Seeing the comments about heroes rise makes me want to make this better than it is.

You’re off to a good start on that. The topic is very interesting. How do you plan to go about regaining humanity?

In the current demo you can’t regain humanity but you can get an extra 10% at one point. I will allow humanity to be gained at a certain point but it’ll be tied into a story plot.

Where’s that at? I don’t believe I’ve found it

When at school don’t play soccer then when you find the book read the spell then when the option appears later translate one of the volumes for the humanity increase I think its vol 2

Oh hey I did do that. Haha guess I just didn’t notice

One volume results in an increase in spirit the other in humanity.

Did you add anything to the end of Mission A to have it end a bit less abruptly?
