thanks, I’ve been writing stories for YEARS and it I do it because I love telling stories. I’m really happy I found choicescript as it lets me write a story that can change and branch by what the reader wants

Its not much currently but in the latest version reading that spell gives you a better spirit stat when it comes into play (Episode 2) and as Shoelip said Ren can help you read the book which results in one of two stat boosts depending on your choice.
I also intend for it to have an effect on Ren at some point.

I mean in the sense the parts they will play. And once a partner is picked will it be permanent. Or will there be special occasions and missions where we can work with other partners?
I’ve got a faint idea of the characters like whether they are male or female and a bit of their backgrounds
yes you are able change your partner.
For your first case only six members are there, but you will meet the others over the next few episodes.
Some of them will be better suited for cases than others, but you won’t ever lose just because you think one is better than another.
Some cases will have alternate paths available with certain members and there may be one or two who refuse to work with you (which may be dropped depending on how hard it is to code)
