UnNatural - A supernatural horror game - editing complete, beta testing over

@NS

That sucks. I may as well have my monster hating character kill jack themselves

@WolfieGrey

You are told he is killed during an escape. But was he really? Hmm teaser perhaps? *evil laugh* lol

One thing I noticed is there isn’t an option to reject Victor. When he sneaks into the PC’s room it’s just assumed that she likes him when all she had done was take him on a case. There wasn’t actually any flirting on her part yet she’ll kiss him during that scene with no input from the player. This might be confusing for a player that had no idea taking him on that case would trigger a romance.

When playing around with what is done for ā€œCureā€ it’s assumed that the PC is romantically interested in Denise when they hadn’t shown any interest in her and even already had a romantic partner. I’m also getting an error when choosing to speak to her or the partner of my choosing if she isn’t alive but I’m unsure if it’s just because you haven’t written that far yet.

line 3145: Invalid string, open quote with no close quote: ā€œ${friend})

While doing ā€œFangs for the Memoryā€ I get this error when attempting the threaten the people

line 2039: Invalid expression at char 6, expected OPERATOR, was: OPEN_ PARENTHESIS [)]

And one last thing, I feel like those romance specific scenes that happen in episode 5 should get their own ā€˜page’ (is that what’s it’s called in choice script?) Right now they display directly under whatever case you just finished and and it makes everything look very crowded.

@Greyjoy

I’ll have to add a reject option. To be honest, I’ve written him as an a$$hole and imo unlikeable person, so was quite surprised that a few people said they liked him. So I was going by the premise that the only people who’d take him on any case would be ones who ā€˜liked’ him. But I’ll add an option to just kick his ass (without the flirting).

With Denise, there should have been an option to not be romantically linked. So I’ll look into that.

I’ll fix those errors and add page breaks to the social scenes.

EDIT: just checked the code and Victor should only sneak into your room if your victor_rep = 3, I’ll have to add the option to reject as the end of ā€œSOSā€.

Damn why is Victor such a kill-joy if you call him Vicky? Did he have an older sister who called him that and tortured him with that name?

It seems I cant get the last scene with Denise in chapter 6, Don’t know if I’m missing something. Sorry to be a bother! And one more question how do you get the mission ā€œFangs for memoryā€? I don’t get the choice on my alpha route. Sorry if this question already has been asked.

@trollhunterthethird

Victor is a typical man’s man, so obviously referring to him as ā€œVickyā€ which is a girl’s name doesn’t sit well with him lol

@Peeehh

ā€œFangs for the memoryā€ is the follow up case to ā€œSOSā€ from Episode 3.

Following the guide is there anything you can’t do? If it helps when you get to the start of episode 6 go into stats and send me a copy of the ā€˜error list’ and I can double check to see what’s going wrong.

@Peeehh

The chapter 6 case with Denise isn’t finised yet anyway so…

Thanks for the info. I haven’t done yet the werewolf case in chapter 6 because it’s unfinished.

Line 1203 invalid ${} variable substitution at letter 1.

@RagEgnite

What episode was you playing when you got that error?

I chose to promote Sarah.

@RagEgnite

Thanks, found and fixed the error.

@Nocturnal_Stillness victor is a badass, that’s why he used to be my first choice as a partner

@kaosorer

Yes he is a badass but still a badass who’d happily push you into a vampire so he can stake it. He’s genuinely NOT a nice person.

and that’s why I like him

@kaosorer

you’re not the only one, a few people like him.

@Nocturnal_Stillness
Personally, though this may just be me, I liked Victor not because jerkasses are my particular favourite choice of character but because some (!) of the other potential partners in the game seemed… bland, almost, in comparison. He may be a sadist jerk, yup yup, but ā€˜is personality is… agh, this is like tryin’ to explain the colour blue to a rock, stupid brain, think more words… uh, it’s more… defined. Like a stereotype I’m used to - that almost cliche-ness about it makes it comfortable, in that way, y’know?

@Bagelthief

You say *some* which ones do you find bland?

@Nocturnal_Stillness
I-I, uh, this is kind of embarrassin’ to say, so I don’t want to. I’ll back out - it took a lot of my courage already to write that up there, y’know!
Maybe I’ll come back to it tomorrow when I feel a lil’ more confident, I dun want ta leave ya hangin’.
But am I right to assume ya get what I mean otherwise?
