oh my 0.0 I’m sorry for your loss @P0RT3R

@P0RT3R, that same thing happened to my Nicholas Cage… He was trying to catch up with his real life doppelgänger, movie wise.

@2Ton A couple of those sound like pornstar nicknames

@Ninjasplaycardgames1.5, 2Ton hasn’t been on this thread for a long while, has he?

2Ton has a lot going on in his life, but it is slowly getting better for him. I think he still checks the the threads from time to time.

I usually make up names unless one of the premade names stands out to me.

Ah here it is, was looking everywhere for that, such important names, thus it shall greatly help for both my games, and as seen in several other newer WIP’s the names here certainly aids in coming up with default names and the likes of naming development. Hopefully we’ll hear from others and newer members of the cog community.

The names I usually use are from story ideas I have going already, or from characters I use to draw and name they tend to fit in every era and almost for any species. Like a common one I use is Karson, and it fits in almost every era, mostly our age, but it can be used in any era, can’t put that name on a dragon though cuz then it just sounds weird to me. I usually name my character serious names unless the game calls for something different, but like other people have stated I tend to try and match the name with the default names so if its a spanish name I’ll either pick a default one (which is rare seeing as how I like making up names for my characters) or, well, make one up that fits in with the story, this goes for every other story like Choice of Dragon where I’ll type up something like “Grubech”. To summarize, it depends on which era you’re using in the game and I’ll try to match up when I make up one.

I have almost never used a pre-set name in one of the games I’m playing. I imagine the character in my head and then type in whichever of my thirty favorite names seem to fit best.

It really depends on the game too - time period, tone, etc. In Eerie Estate Agent, I was Arithromancea DeVore and my nemesis was ESTOFLAVIO (yes, all in capitals, that outrageous narcissist!)

I appreciate seeing pre-set names that mean something, even if I don’t use them. Like how in Choice of Robots almost all (maybe all?) of the robot names had symbolic meaning and the first/last MC names referred to scientists.

I also love colors as names for some reason. First names for females include Jade, Scarlet, Violet… last names usually match however I’m playing the character hero vs. villain-wise, so my favorite one to use is Grey.

That’s an interesting way to see things lol what a name for a rival =p, Giving meaning hmm…perhaps there could be a choice for a name, and then a choice for what the name means right after.

Avery Blood(male)
Scythe Blood (female)
Lucille Blood (female)
If there is a codename than It’s Dark Stalker

Hello! This is my second post on the form, so I’m just going to be a little unconventional and introduce myself before I d the “What character name you use” that this topic seems to actually about…

I’m Patar. I’m sixteen, American, and a sophmore in high school. I like to write, (or more accurately, pretend I do, I type VEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRY slow.) listen to music (Best band ever would be a fusion between Tool, Nirvana, and The Grateful Dead!) and read. most of my reading is CoG related, but I also RP on another site.

I also had an old account on here. I wasn’t very active, so don’t feel bad that no one remembers me.

Anywhore, Anyways, when I play CoG’s I normally take one of the offered names, and play by the ‘feel’ of the name. My first pick is normally a wizard/mage/intelligent character, with high charisma/persuasion. (All time favorite is Political Bagman or Business Entrepreneur from Vendetta,)

I enjoy making a asshole with a heart of shit gold…

Also, @2Ton you’re hilarious.

When I come to a naming sequence I try to see the easiest way and the one that would make the most sense
to ship a character from a different C.o.G to the one I’m playing. As of now I have three MCs that I use.

Adrian Sanada = Brooding and angry
Kojiro Shigeharu = Joyful and Hero
Raziel Griese. = mix of the two.

Each character has a different set personality so it effects how I react to a situation.

He is isn’t hehe lol sadly he has vanished. Interest re, but ah this thread is after all who you are altogether ^.^ intros are very much welcomed. Oh and You have inspired me into taking into deep consideration making the assassin path highly dedicated to such a build with winning through a silver tongue…

Raz raz raz of course it’s Griez lol, it’ll be kinda awkward seeing your name appear as your target…

I’m having a lot of fun with my own pre-sets. The only set of pre-made names I have in my current demo is the name of the vampire’s servant. As many as I can are named after famous butlers, handmaidens, and other helpers; when I ran out of those I looked up some names that meant “servant”. The pre-set name options for my monsters are going to be taken from myths, movies, and books about them.

Do you have their actual names yet?

I never pick my own name, mainly because it sounds horrible in any language but Dutch. Secondly I like to create a character that is my own but not me, if you know what I mean.
My default option for a character name is Darcie Cobalt, but I try to make it fit the character. I always play as a female first so I usually end up with a feminine name. Names I use for good/light character usually start with an A for some reason, I’ve named characters Aria, Aurelia and Arachel. While bad/dark characters usually have a sharp pronunciation like Vesper, Sernite or Niandarr.
