Ultimata (Fantasy WIP)

Yes, there are beings and races who are capable of doing such things. There would be also certain magical arts, which allow you to look into the future or to communciate with spirits and ghosts (mainly arts from the field of Light).

Of course there are. While these rules might have been quite persistent in the past they aren’t that much important anymore and stay unregarded. The times have greatly changed since the middle ages and every non-human and supernatural being is free to join any Religion they want to, despite their unnatural powers or natures. For example, there are Demon’s who visit the church every Sunday or Yokai who work as a Priest/Priestess in a Shinto Shrine. Even the acting Pope of the Catholic Church is a non-human.

I’m sorry, but I changed this Information a little. Now the non-humans take on about thirty to forty percent of the global Population.

It’s probably not common knowledge.

Yes, it isn’t common knowledge. It is a strongly guarded secret, that is only known to a few people within the human and non-human community.

The same applies for the political world, since there are certain politicians who are non-humans as well. Again there are only a few people who actually know about this.

What kind of non human is the pope?

one with infatuation related abilities maybe? ( maybe not, he would be able to make almost anyone convert to catholicism, i think?)

Sorry, but this will stay a secret for now.

Is Jesus a non-human too? Maybe an angel?

Yes, Jesus was a non-human. But he wasn’t a Angel. He was what most non-humans would normally refer to as “Gods Blood” or “Half God”, the child of a God or Goddess. In case of Jesus he was the son of the God of the Christians.

Jesus was one of those non-humans, who openly used their powers to help those who were in need. He used his godly powers to perform his various miracles. Sadly, we all know how this act of charity ended for him.

Hmm all of these talks about helping those in need getting you killed make me want to make a cruel MC who kills a lot of people and sacrifice my enemies in dark rituals lol.
I wonder if it will make my soul really corrupted though, if you use dark magic like blood magic/Necromancy etc but on evil people would it corrupt you?

Ends justify the means they say

While killing a bad person might not have that much of an impact on your Soul, dark magic would still have such an impact. Forbidden arts (like Necromancy or Deadly Curses) would always corrupt you, even if you use them on someone evil. You see, killing a bad guy is probably much more merciful and less evil than enslaving his Soul through Necromancy.

But what if they were a real jerk like tobias over there he was a jerk so enslaving his soul and shoving it into snow globe should be justified

Why would deadly curses corrupt you?
They aren’t really more evil than regular killings

Well, I agree with you. Jerks or idiots like Tobias would have definitely deserved such a punishment. However, even though it might be justified it still wouldn’t change anything about the fact that you would “assault” his Soul through a action like that. You see, everytime you would alter someones Soul in a negative way you would gain a little bit more corruption (only certain forbidden arts can alter someones Soul negatively).

Actually, they are. You see, not every deadly curse kills you instantly. There are those curses who torment it’s victim (both physically and mentally) for several minutes, hours or even days to the point where they pratically beg for death until the curse finally kills them. Deadly curses like this would corrupt your Soul.

Would people be able to decrease courrption (I could never do this I always play the angelic characters)

Yes, you could decrease the corruption of your Soul, by performing honorable and compassionate deeds. However, it would take a lot of time and a lot of these deeds to fully decrease the corruption of someones Soul. To put it in a simple way, it’s easier to gain corruption than losing it.

You see, in my game there are two opposing factors, that represent the condition of your Soul. These factors would be “Purity” and “Corruption”. In the beginning of the game your purity bar will be completely full, while your corruption bar will still be on zero. Your decisions during the game will alter These factors. For example, if you follow the way kindness, compassion and righteousness your purity will stay at its peak, while your corruption will stay at zero. However, by commiting severe crimes or by using one of the forbidden arts your corruption will slowly rise and will affect the purity of your Soul. The more your corruption grows the more your purity will dwindle and once your corruption is higher than your purity there will be no turning back.

Looking forward to finding out!

If you never do things that corrupt you what would be the benefit of doing kind things? Since your purity is already full anyway, will you get any sort of bonus?

so its not a game over type deal if you get a full bar of corruption correct?
