‘‘Mind if I call you Carrie?’’
Freaked out when I saw that, truly. Thanks a heck load of bunches!

Although this popped up twice… Not in the same words, but… well, twice. Not supposed to, I think?
… a when a relation ship bar goes into negative value, the bar goes all red, but I didn’t say anything to it that may have it gone blush… xD
… Somehow, I got a new loop. Hartigan, raiders at Albion Falls…
Haven’t you ever thought about settling down, not leading a gang?
Keeps popping up all the time… hmh.
When preparing for the fight at pacific railway, some choices don’t show any kind of answer. Didn’t happen before.
Does it strike anyone else as funny that here you can wrestle a bear into submission with your bare hands, kill Snake in a duel, and fight your way past a pair of lions, and the marshall isn’t renown for his melee skills?
What the heck does it take to impress those people? Would you get within striking range of a guy who can fight bears and lions for fun?
Hello,
Does anyone know how can you make both carson and shmit happy of you at the first encounter so that they both could ride up with you to the town?
@arash The way I do it is this.
!. “Good Afternoon to you both”
Hear out both men.
Consider the facts.
Say it’s Carson’s fault and say it’s because “Their your animals, and your responsibility”
Say you will “forgo any court charges on my part”
Choose “Only a small token amount will do”
That’s how I do it and it gets both really happy.
Nasdaxow- That is a good point about the lions. A little heads up about expecting the unexpected would be appropriate. After all, Marshal James has run into the Uptons before. Though they’d have to be crazy to bring anything out this way…
The least-path ending to Chapter 9 is annoying, though I’m glad you found it. Combining Chapter 9 with Chapter 10 is impractical for size-of-file reasons. Perhaps I can add a little more meat in for the least-path portion, something small just to give it more meat. After all, if you find the most efficient way to complete the chapter, there should be a reward…
Piggleywinks-Good catches. I have no idea who M.Swan is… no idea at all. Apparently my brain just decided to throw that in.
JackHerge-You found a loop? I’m on that. Also, the relationship bar does need to be fixed at negative amounts. Which character did you drive into the negative realms by the way?
stsword-Yeah, I need to take a look at adding a special ‘you’ve kicked ass in hand to hand’ variable that isn’t based directly on the brawling skill. I’ve done it for gunfighting and dodging bullets, so this wouldn’t be so badly different.
Which events should trigger it? The Bear, obviously :), defeating Hungry Snake, defeating Many Falling Rocks, battling the lions, what else?
@arash I do pretty much the same as @trollhunterthethird but I find both men guilty as neither of them so much as sang out hello to each other.
@trollhunterthethird and @Kitty9, thanks
i said hello,
and i also chose the one that said they both made a fault
I believe that if you have some skill in persuasion, you can just find neither guilty, that it was just an accident, and then they’ll both come to town with you.
That sounds about right, AG, although perhaps throwing in having the obsidian ax as a variable, after all from what I remember those things make decapitations and dismemberments a lot easier, so the easily gruesome results of wielding one of those really out to make an impression on people…
Jack Herge- Do you recall anything more about which section had no responses to the choices? There are an awful lot of entries to cover otherwise.
stsword- Yeah, the obsidian war-ax should definitely be an involved variable for the melee_master determination. Maybe also knocking Miss Caraway out in chapter 2 or fighting Schmidt to the death in Chapters eight or nine.
Out of curiosity, how large are these files in terms of kb, characters and lines? They seem massive.
Regarding the Lions, you could also add a bit of foreshadowing by throwing a line into Chapter 1, when Marshal James first gives you the rundown of what happened with the trial (“The Jury all were bought and paid for. Though having two pet Lions at their disposal probably didn’t hurt their cause either.”)
That way he may easily dismiss the idea of the Uptons hauling along the Lions into the wild (and thus not briefing our Marshal on it), but the observant reader get’s a nice connection between the beginning and the end of the story.
I’m back again I’ve spotted what may be a bug. If you select to go to the Mother-Lode in the interval between Chapters Two and Three you get the Sam Pitcavige scene which is then repeated identically between Chapters Three and Four.
Just finished the nine Chapters, wow what a finish… cannot wait for Chapter Ten

Loved the scene at the rail head where the leader said chaos followed in Carolines wake and then agreed to help!
Nasdaxnow- A bit of chapter one foreshadowing of the lions is definitely a good idea. However, Regina and Reginald never saw the MC at trial. Indeed, Marshal James arranged just that. So, I’ll try to be subtle about alluding to the lions.
Bloodwyche- Yep, the Sam Pitcavage scenes didn’t have the right triggering variables. That was an easy fix. Also, thank you for the data set. I had a fair idea what most chapter nine characters would be like, but it is always good to see what other people can cook up. Low Order and very low Law… and yet high Honor. Did your character get along well with Hartigan then?
Also, Chapter ten drops. It is rough, but I need to get it beta’d while I work on the epilogue and stat-screen.
