xt1000305- That is high praise. What did you like about the trailer to ‘The Lone Ranger’? I’d like to know if there is anything additional I should include. Do they derail whole trains that then explode?
Well, there was a part in the trailer where they blew up some train tracks across a river that reminded me of destroying the Red Ribbon mining dam. No idea about the trains though.
Um, I don’t know if this has been asked before but, how does one romance Preston?
Yes it has, Kat. I’ll give you a hint: Slap slap kiss.
Or at least so I've heard, my marshall has his hands full with Carrie and Maria. :)
@AllenGies
Yee Haw! I got to play thru the expanded Schmidt romance that starts in chapter 4 now. I feel much more of a connection with that character. I need to try out the different discussions during those scenes to get the full flavor but I am glad I know more of his story now.
Thanks again for your continued, excellent work on this game!
It doesn’t take long to find Old Schmidt, and when you do, he’s hip deep in muddy water with prospecting pan in hand.
He blinks a bleary eye, squints over and rubs at his bristle of a beard.
“Is that you Logan?” He asks, peers close and breaks into a smile. “It is! What brings you by?”
You lay it all out for him as he clambers out of the deep water, swirls the pan about in the shallows. As the tale finishes up, he inspects the tiny gold flakes found at the edge of the residue.
“Up river… beaver hunting or what not?” Schmidt considers, gives a nod. “Course I’ll go. Be a good change of pace.”
It takes only a little while for the old Prospector to saddle back up and, with laden mule in tow, begin the journey north and east to where the river flows down.

Last paragraph repeated, except one says down and the other says from :3
I just had an idea for an epic scene for lawyers. What if you are one of the so called best lawyers around by Reginald or Regina?
“I know some of the best lawyers around, marshal. You won’t get anything on me at all. Why, Cameron Hall can get me off any case at all, and I have the funds to hire him.”
“Funny thing, that. I never expected my name to be so well known by criminals like you.”
“You?!You are that attorney we planned on hiring?!”
Sorry for posting that, I wasn’t thinking…
@AllenGies I’ve tried too the expanded romance with Schmidt, and I really like the way it builds up to get to the romance, it feels more natural than the way it was before.
I’m not sure if it’s on purpose but everytime I’ve got the scissor scene twice (one before going to Albion Falls and just before the stagecoach)?
This is totally nitpicking but I never managed to get the “maybe I should stay close” one that requires schmidt_bonus >2, the best i can do is schmidt_bonus =2. Is it just me?
Also: “Hello. Allons-nous parier dans cette langue ou…” He says slowly in French (should be: “Allons-nous parler dans cette langue”)
piggleywinks- You are welcome. I’m glad you are enjoying the difficult-to-reach early romance. Now I just need to make certain it’ll fit with the rhythm of the rest of the story without obvious repetition…
Ninjasplaycardgames2- Ah, good catch. Sometimes I write a bit of a scene and like it so much I put in elsewhere… except that I lose track of the order and sequence of things…
Wyrmspawn- Don’t worry about it. I had wanted to have a full-blow court-room scene at some point, with the possibility of having been paid off by the Uptons to throw the case. Sadly, the story just didn’t want to go there.
Lanawinst- The Schmidt bonus is a tricky one. You need to choose him as a companion in chapter one, chapter three and chapter four, IIRC, in order to gain a Schmidt bonus point each time. If you have done that, and it still hasn’t given you the three points toward the bonus, then I need to delve back into the code and see what the deal is.
Oh, and thank you for that French spelling correction. I certainly wouldn’t have seen it as my French is practically non-existent.
When you choose the Colt Walker as your gun while talking to Denny, the option to choose another gun says, “Distance might be important in a gunfight. I would have a different weapon.” I think it should say, “Distance might not be important in a gunfight.”
@AllenGies
Wow! Quite few additions I’ve noticied lately. There are expanded options with yiska and carrie dual romance, expanded options with hartigan in oregon, hartigan fighting with me against raiders…my head is spinning in a good way. And What?! Breaking Schmidt’s heart brings unexpected consequences!
If I am in a dual relationship with caraway/yiska, Why doesn’t she greet yiska with me (when he arrives at railway with the shoshone…is it because the relationship needs to stay under wraps?)
Taking Schmidt to Red Ribbon Mining Camp; Wouldnt Schmidt be upset that the Admundsens had captured and treated yiska that way? I feel he would confront them about it…
When hit by lightning; Get a shock when you shake hands with Preston. Why not with anyone else? Like when Yiska touches your hand to ask you to do explosives himself at dam…that could be interesting…
when you decide to parley with raiders; I would think your companions especially if in a relationship with one or more of them would try to stop you or hug you or say good luck or something…
Do we get any extra relationship points with Schmidt, Caraway or Carson if we choose their recommnded cat name?
During Caraway’s telling of the story of her friend on the way to Boot Hill; is it Nelly or Nellie? Two different spellings…
When bringing up the river flooding to Preston;
“What?” Preston barks out, draws every ear. “Are you certain?”
What about saying something like: "Dammit JT, I’m a Doctor (or Marshsal or Lawyer), not a fortune teller!’
Found something weird, I went to Echo Canyon with Schmidt and met Hartigan, but afterwards when I’m riding shotgun on the caravan he acts like I never went to the canyon. And then Carson appears out of nowhere to point towards a hill :I
By “he” I mean Hartigan
"Known for being a beacon of light, and a Paragon of all that the Marshal’s service stood for, Cameron Reese stayed on the Frontier as a Marshal with a gunslinger named Miss Caraway.
The two never married, but that didn’t really matter to anyone. "
So the epilogue was… Just… Wow.
There have been a lot of great games that have come out of these forums. In my opinion, this is the greatest. AllenGies, you have truly made a masterpiece.
Only a few of the townsfolk are willing to get involved, would much rather flee.
most* ?
