@AllenGies Thank you for clearing the Carson issue, to be honest to me it does make more sense for there to be no romance option with Carson. I must say that most of my favourite scenes involve Yiska. I’d love to find out more about him and find him very interesting. Was he fun to write?
Also (sorry to be a bother!) Will we meet Denny again?
Hi! I constantly lurk on this site and I decided I had to express how much I’ve enjoyed the beta so far! It’s made me grin more then once. It really makes me flash back to when I would watch old western movies, and shows with my dad. XD I really do adore this I got to say my fave chapters I’ll be sure to say after I replay it again. {which I’m doing now actually I have the link saved on my Ipod} Though what I can say now is I enjoy you’re writing style, I love how this plot is going! {and me being a touch of a romance junky I got to say I like how you have done it so far! Let alone the choices though I have to say Yiska’s and J.T.'s I’ve liked so far. I’ve played them all though and I got to say you have a good diversity of characters and even beyond romance all of them are very interesting, and divers characters.
Also is there supposed to be an influence chart for Maria?
trollhunterthethird- Thank you. I feel that I am going at a steady clip. It helps that I just had a chance to write a scene that I had really wanted to get to for some time. Ever since chapter three in fact.
Kitty9- Yiska remains interesting to write about. He has a shaman-like appeal in that he walks in two very different worlds and yet is neither fully of either. He is also the only character to reliably throw me a curve in the writing process each time he is in a scene. Sometimes he even does it when he is just mentioned.
As for Denny Baso… would I, as a writer, bring back a character that was only ever introduced in the first chapter? Of course.
Now, as for Maria’s influence chart, yeah, I should add that. I haven’t taken a look at the stat screen for a long time. Since before Yiska and Maria were first written about. I have some further plans for the stats and their presentation, and that is on my list of things to do.
AngelOfTheBroken- I’m glad you are enjoying it. Of course, I have to ask which chapters are your fave chapters and if you can tell me why that is. That’s part of the writing process of feedback and editing.
Heh Of course! I do enjoy all the chapters, but I have to say I do think my top favourite so far is between chapter 5 and 7, five I like how it was starting to dig into the meat of the story, but still left enough where I still can’t guess the ending yet. Seven I like the bit of tense action…and loved how Marshal could joke a little. (Though I have parts I like of all of them…>\\\> like 6 I liked how you really got me to imagine how the change of the seasons felt and the effect it had back then, and I do love character interactions)… I hope that was somewhat helpful.
How many chapters are you planning to have?
It’s proving quite a lengthy title so far (not that that is in ANY way a bad thing!).
I was wondering the same. However i kind of hope it never ends lol.
Just wondering what kind of stats are needed to beat hungry snake? Had brawling 45 and gunfight 55 going in and can’t get past the hand-on-hand fighting no matter what combination I do. The only way for me to survive that chapter was for me to go stealth and gun him down in the dark…
Don’t know if this is just me but if I ask Schimdt about the town when you first get to Preston Springs and then ask Carson he says “Frank told it better than I, more of it too.” Think there may be something wrong here… as I didn’t ask Frank I asked Schmidt.
he is obviously telling you that frank can tell you better than he can
ah wait yea
@hahaha01357 I had 50 brawling and about 60 gunfighting and still couldn’t beat him in brawling. However after initiating the fight i was able to shoot him.(or shoot him from the start face to face i do not remember.)
Funny, I was able to defeat snake with a high forties, low fifties, I don’t remember the exact score.
Did you guys buy a weapon from the blacksmith?
Yeah that or you get the obsidian war hammer fron the friendly indian village on the move
AngelOfTheBroken- That was certainly helpful. I had hoped the change of the seasons was poetic enough without being distracting. And the later episodes do have more opportunities for player humor, which I will want to carry back to the earlier episodes.
As for tense action, yeah, there will be more of that.
CJW- I’m planning eight chapters in all, so one more chapter, plus an epilogue and a wrap-up. Almost done…
