Theotian… I don’t think that you’d really go anywhere with exploring new choices if you try that. Unless you ‘explore’ way before the Save-points. Especially if you try to ‘explore’ in the beginning.
Besides, it’ll kind of ruin the game’s experience, even though it’s still a Work in progress.
I’d prefer to use it to save my progress when the new update comes out.
Didn’t have it at the time, but I remember every choice I made. I’ll re-do it and see if I can get it. I know I got a lot of legend in the Steele affair, I got all the telegrams (President Johnson and the secretary) And took Steele in alive, I think I got one for that. And no, I didn’t get the chance, I’ll see if I can find that option c:
I wrestled the bear :3
"Your deeds throughout Lander Country too numerous for even your enemies to deny. Newspapers out west readily give accounts and more than a few books trumpet the life and times of Ofelia Ofrenda.
Eventually Hollywood takes a turn at your unlikely exploits and manages not to mangle the truth too badly."
I love reading the legend score every single time. And yes, the name of my Marshall comes from the videogame Grim Fandango; I loved the name since I heard it on the game for the first time.
I noticed a mistake in the dialogue with Carlos after the averted flooding of the town. He says: “Buenas dias”. It should be: “Buenos días”.
And in the above legend score I think there should be an are.
That is all I remember, but there are probably a few I missed.
Anyhow, lovely update, I love chapter seven and chapter six; I felt there was so much to do, that what I did mattered the most.
I cannot romance Schmidt, to be honest, I love legally stealing at the Red Ribbon company and he seems too mad at that.
The other romances, however, are marvellous. I love how complicated the situation is with María, and the fire there is in the Marshall’s relationship with Caraway, and of course Yiska being a lawyer slash poet is always nice. I can truly say that, even if you don’t like action/adventure games, you should give Tin Star a chance for the romances alone; it is so well done and this is just the beta. Needlessly to mention, I cannot wait for the full game, I hope I get the chance to play it.
I’ve just had my second play through and this is one of the three works in progress that I am really looking forward to seeing the finished article. Just wanted to say thank you to @AllenGies for helping me pass an hour or two between shifts!
@AllenGies No idea if this has been suggested, as I haven’t been following the thread for some time, but could you implement bonus legend points for having a certain score in a certain stat? E.g Having 70 in sharpshooting gives you a description of your character being a very good sniper.
Patch 101- That’s alright. It is just that things are getting toward the end and when I do the legend wrap-up I want to be able to judge what would be a high level outcome and which would be a low.
VodooDolly- Good catch on the missing word. That one appears (Or actually doesn’t) in a number of places, almost a dozen in all. I’ll also change Carlos’ dialogue. It has been years since I studied Spanish.
I’m glad you are enjoying the romantic aspect. I hadn’t intended it to be much of a romance when I started. Foolish me.
KearoB-You are welcome. Enjoy.
XT1000305- Oohhh… that’s a good point. High stats should carry some kind of bonus to legend. Those aspects are quite often what makes legends so legendary. I’ll add it to the list. Thanks.
Okay. I’ve tweaked a few things, including an early option to load a saved game so you don’t have to plow through all of Chapter one to do so. CJW suggested that excellent addition by the way.
Also, there is a little something extra owing to the beginning of April, but I doubt I’ll keep it up for long.
Aww I see what you did thar!!
I fell for it sad to say haha.
Yep. April Fools, SianaA. but now April first has come and gone, and things continue on.
Hi, first of all love this game! I have been lurking around this discussion for a while now and two questions have been bugging me. 1: Is it possible to romance Carson or is he too loyal and religious to cheat on his family? 2: Why is there no influence chart for Yiska?
Kitty9- I’m glad you are enjoying the beta. Do you have any particular section you enjoy?
As to your questions, the reason for not being able to romance Carson is two-fold. One, as you note, he is utterly devoted to his wife. For him to act otherwise seems inconceivable. Two, there are already five different possible romances in the story and I started to go a little crazy trying to consider the implications and interactions of them all. I had to draw a line somewhere and thankfully I did so early on.
- No influence chart for Yiska? Whoops. I’ll add that right now.
On a further note, Chapter eight is turning out to be larger than I’d like. I’m going lift some of it over to the interlude between chapter seven and eight to speed things up. This includes the romance section where multiple romances are dispatched with or otherwise resolved. Also a few other tidy bits. I should have that portion, which is actually larger than some of the early chapters, ready in a week or so.
The rest of it… will be a while.
@AllenGies You take your time, you’re writing an amazing story and you do not want to ruin it by rushing!
