Tin Star testing

RoseQueenKamijo- You are welcome. I am always pleased to lend other people inspiration. Now I just have to finish the story. Or begin to finish it as the case may be.

Chapter seven is nearly debugged. Randomtest has now been chewing on the program for over an hour and I’m fairly certain that it has done all it can to flush out the bugs. I will take a look in the morning to confirm.

Yay! I’m excited to read this again! x3

Keep up the good work!

sorry double post…

I’ve been waiting for Chapter 7 for so long, can’t wait to play! :-bd

A minor miracle occurred. I ran randomtest so many times that it cleared out the autotest bug that had been hounding me and that sped things up nicely. Chapter seven awaits. More plot, less romance; at least this time around.

Tell me what you think.

YESS. WILL PLAY NOW.

@AllenGies another brilliant chapter! I particularly liked being able to tell the Indian-slayers/hunters about the Indians in green deer valley- very sneaky! I think now there are so many choices that extra character-building stats could be added in, like in CotV. It seems that in the future there may be another Hartigan encounter- can we finally kill him or will he escape yet again? Also, I tried a play-through letting Caraway’s leg fall off- the scene in the canyon is my favourite so far, even if it does take you to the… less diplomatic solution. Thanks for all the added content!

I loved it! There’s nothing I would want to change about it. \m/ it toped my expectations, can’t wait for more.

Great chapter!

A few bugs, there are two options I found that don’t grey out after choosing them. First is the comment on the Indians not shoeing their horses, and the second I can’t remember but I’ll find it next playthrough.

Oh and Caraway’s name isn’t properly capitalized towards the end of Chapter 7.

Redgrave- The Green Deer Valley thing just sort of happened. If they’re looking for Indians, well…

You mentioned extra Character building stats? What kind of stats? I’m not familiar with CotV.

And yes, Hartigan will be seen again if he was not killed or captured in Chapter seven.

Sunbean- Ah, excellent. Things to fix. I apparently missed a *disable_reuse entry or two. And it’ll be easy to search for a miss-capitalization for Caraway.

The second was is when Carrie’s dad tells his joke about having nice weather, the “you didn’t start a fire” doesn’t grey out

@AllenGies CotV uses stats like Compassion/Cruelty, Anachronism/Rationalism, Communalism/Independence and (I think) one other. Some form of stats like those could be interesting for the player, if only to see how they are getting along with being cruel!

In the scene with Wong Dai Choi, the Chinese merchant, halfway through it when he shows me medicine, his name changed into Wong Fat Liu…

Is there any particular benefit to keeping Carson’s herd and not selling 'em?

will there ever be an actual working save feature?

Your slaying of the lead drover for the Central Pacific railroad is an oft repeated tail of warning told and retold to the railmen of California. Two legend points earned.

The imitation of a Grizzly bear against the Red Ribbon miners is told and retold more than a few times between prospectors all throughout Nevada. Two Legend points earned.

The discovery of the bodies of two men at a watering hole not far from Preston Springs, found just days after your arrival, sets many tongues to wagging. Careful tongues that never quite say what they suspect. The possibilities of what might or might not have happened slowly ferments its way into countless tales. Two legend points awarded.

The shooting of Tumbleweed Jack, a colorful if not significant character in the Nevada, quickly makes its way into dime novels sold throughout the state and eventually beyond. Not much to it, but more than a few historians and collectors swear that this sort of thing is genuine Americana. Two Legend points awarded.

Bringing down a bear is a rare event. For years to come, people still talk about you, the berry bushes and that hungry grizzly. Two Legend points earned.

The bloody midnight capture of the Red Ribbon Mining camp quickly becomes a cautionary tale for any company operating out west. No matter what lesson the listeners draw from it, they come away quite certain that you must have had something to do with it. Three Legend points awarded.

The complete seizure and plunder of the Red Ribbon Mining camp, and the subsequent gifting of it to the Newe, swiftly soars through numerous Indian story-tellers; a tale of bounty that can be taken from the white man. Many a brave Indian warrior in the years to come sets out with your tale in mind and though nearly all fall short they still strive. Three Legend points awarded.

Your telegram to President Johnson is naturally settled into the Presidential archives. Many decades later, scholars and historians stumble upon it and readily draw it forth into the public eye, shedding light both on the workings of post civil-war government, the Presidency and Americana in general. Two legend points awarded.

The telegram to and from the Secretary of the Treasury office Hugh McCulloch is kept in the official archives. In the early twenty-first century, as those records are converted to a digital format, your correspondence peaks historical interest in the Federal Marshal system and the Old West. One Legend point awarded.

It was well known that Marshal Madara Uchiha never took a bribe, despite numerous offers over the years. Indeed, a hundred years down the line people in Nevada sometimes say they want to make a Madara’s bargain when integrity is what matters. One Legend point awarded.

The incident at the Evening Star is an infamous one, not merely for your confrontation of the man claiming to be Roger Steele, but the carnage that came after. Long remembered in Nevada, the event makes its way into law enforcement legend as how not to control a crowd during an emergency. One legend point awarded.

The Six Horn lodge has many great tales, and among them is the day they met Marshal Uchiha Madara. For when they were in need, you were there to help see them through to the safety of Green Deer valley. Two Legend points awarded.

You were well known for spending your personal money in such large dollops that even the gold jaded people of Lander County were surprised. Two Legend point awarded.

Your offer of Travis Beeks’ life to pay for the scalping resonates not only in the Mormon community but in the Paiute tribe as well. Some white men know honor, and some Indians are merciful. A lesson that both learn and pass along. Three Legend points awarded.

Your skill at predicting your enemies always proved to be an asset to your endeavors. Some opine that you played off both sides, or could read others minds while most thought were just plain lucky. But the fact remains that you were often there when you were needed most. One Legend point awarded

Jane Forester lived as a man most of her life. She had to in order to first a Sheriff and then later a Marshal in the Oregon counties. Only when she sought to run for high office did her gender become revealed, and even that was not enough to stop her for long. Indeed, the people of Oregon embraced the heroic law-giver who quelled all sorts of troubles through cunning, tact and the occasional sensational shoot-out.

In her memoirs she credits an early meeting with Marshal Uchiha, though the details are fuzzy about where or when this occurred. Indeed, she preferred to dwell upon an odd pair of boots she wore at the time. A pair that briefly earned her the name ‘Little Boots’. Three Legend points awarded.

There are two additional variations to your tale that clearly never happened. Six Legend points removed.

Your deeds throughout Lander Country too numerous for even your enemies to deny. Nevada newspapers, first-hand accounts and more than a few books trumpet the life and times of Uchiha Madara. Eventually Hollywood takes a turn at your unlikely exploits, though usually only as a minor character; a thing to which many a scholar from Nevada readily scoffs.

Hmm, I don’t think I’m doing a great job of getting Carrie’s dad to like me, I’m dating his daughter, shot most of his gang foiling their robbery, and then killed Snake in hand to hand combat Oops.

@stsword I can beat that- same as you, but I made his daughter lose her leg instead of dating her!
