Zed- I was wondering if someone would do that to Caraway. Did you meet her again at Echo Canyon?
I can’t even get Carrie to come with me when I go see the indians, so I can’t even get that scene. lol
RoseQueenKamijo- I think I’ll start small with the Indian idea. One of the indigenous California tribes without intricate Nevada ties. Then it’ll be a matter of expanding things out from there. Any ideas for a good tribe?
Niu… Hmm. Yeah, that needs a change.
Stsword- So, the Billy Tate encounter in the Assayers office has a flaw… Did you meet him at all, either in the Mother Lode saloon or the Grand Haven hotel? Those are the three places he pops up.
And I apparently need to put in a friendly option for the chess game with Maria. She isn’t that starved for affection.
As for Legend, the wrap up should be the same for each game. It is possible to lose Legend by dying multiple times, but that doesn’t sound like that’s the case. I might have accidentally altered things when I copied it over from chapter to chapter. That has happened before. Did you reach the end of chapter six each time?
I’ll also check into the Marshal Steele error. You took him in peacefully… with a trial or without? There are a few cases where you whip the crowd into a frenzy and they lynch him.
I do appreciate you noting these errors. There is no way I’d have time for that sort of thing and writing too. Chapter seven may turn out to be the longest thus far.
Allen, I met her at Echo Canyon.
Also, here’s a link with a list of the indigenous peoples of California.
Oh hey no problem, happy to help.
Yes, I got to the end of the game.
Well I tried him in the court of public opinion, but I took him in and removed the star from his chest, I figure it would be poor manners to let the mob tear him to pieces after the real Marshal Steele asked you to take his cousin in alive. If I were inclined to just kill him I’d have just shot him there and then the opinion of the towns folk be damned.
So it was a little weird when I got the bit about "I could have thrown him into Marshal James' grave."
And that depends, is Billy the guy who gets himself shoved into the stove? If so, then yes I encountered him in the that playthrough. I just never realized they were the same guy, oops.
Zed- Thanks. There are a number of tribes there to consider. And even a few that are extinct.
RoseQueenKamijo- Funny you should note the Shoshone language and that site in particular. I used that one myself. There was also a site that had an English to Shoshone translator, but alas they took that one down for some reason. Very sad.
Chapter seven is currently undergoing debugging. The main difficulty stems from it being nearly a megabyte in size. Still, I have hopes that I will be able to complete it by Sunday.
After that there will be an interlude and then chapter eight itself wherein the larger plot will at last come to a head.
@AleenGies ironic and tragic…the Shoshone language is super awesome…can’t wait for sunday!
also, @AllenGies, your game is my favorite of all the ones I have played, it has inspired me so much I am writing a book, a novel really, about a native american chef who is half wolf and an asian slave man, brought over from raids in Asia
RoseQueenKamijo- I’m pleased to hear that. Inspiration… its been so long that I’ve been working through the perspiration part of things that I almost forgot the other component.
Have you written a novel before?
On a different note, I’ve run into a strange error message.
Type Error: Cannot read property “endLine” from undefined.
This one has never popped up before, but it doesn’t trigger an error during play, only during autotest. Anyone have any ideas?
… So in the beginning when I said she got a final drink… did I ill caraway?
@AllenGies I’ve been trying for years, I am in contact with a publisher, I just have to keep writing~ I always start something and then give up half-way through, but this, the brief but beautifully poetic interactions between my chinese cowboy and Yiska was a thing of glory, it it is marvelous, I’ve been trying to find inspiration from big sources of things that never lasted long, but the small exchanges within this game leave me dying for more and filled with an inspiration like I have not felt in years…I thank you for creating this…^^
Can’t wait. This is one of the games I’ve been waiting for an update.
