SpiderGirl- There is no way to romance Carson and I don’t think there will be. He has one wife and is pretty well duty bound to her and his family. Even though the LDS church of the time… I don’t want to get into that. Let’s just say he is a committed fellow with no interest in the matter.
There is also no way to romance Preston. At least, not right now. What are your feelings on the matter? Would it be interesting?
Roslyn_samalt06- Schmidt should be romancable if you take him on as a companion twice before Chapter 5 or if you go to see him in chapter 5 and choose the conversation option that has the post-script [Start Romance]. If you still can’t find a way to his heart then I’ve screwed up the programming somehow and I apologize.
Now then, as promised, a mini-update. Not a great deal of additional content, but more than a few fixes.

One of those double sentence bugs still needs squashing.
[Miss Caraway glances at you, hides a smile. “Too bad about the wagon. I think I need a drink. Why don’t you come sit with me.” Why don’t you come sit with me, see if we can’t be better friends." ]
If you are a doctor you can save Andy evrytime
I’m not one of those who seeks to correct grammatical mistakes, really because I’m way too giddy with every update, but I noticed a few things:
-
Firstly, my guardaespaidas.
Should be my guardaespaldas. If you want help with spanish words, I could help.
-
“I see you, but you’re back to early and light a wagon.”
-
“Too bad about the wagon. I think I need a drink. Why don’t you come sit with me.” Why don’t you come sit with me, see if we can’t be better friends."
-
Preston nods, stands back up and looks to you. Feel free to disappoint everyone again, Marshal."
-
“Are you sure you are from Spain?”
Now she’s from Mexico, so this dialogue option is wrong. There’s another one too, when talking to Preston, you have the option to mention a Spanish Countess.
Also, I would suggest Agustina and not Augustina; since the last one is not used in spanish-speaking countries. Like Mary and Maria, for example.
If I remember any other thing, I’ll edit.
Oh, and I’d like to know what options and/or certain paths give persuasion. Yeah, I feel I’ve been missing quite a few, and that’s not good, ha.
By the way, I don’t think that Yiska is hard to romance; I got him on one of my first plays.
@Allengies I tried to do what you said about romancing Schmidt and I cant find the romance button. How high does your relation have to be with him? And in chapter 5 when you ask him about marshal James the option which should be the last choice won’t work when I click it. Like Nothing happens when I press it.
Ok I finally got our relation up to 102 now… And I clicked the option Ask Schmidt a favor… But what do you press after that?
Bloodwyche- That double entry is still there? Ack. Just when I think I have eliminated it, it creeps back in. I’ll get on the fix pending a computer problem that has cropped up.
cjparzival- 1) That is a good idea regarding the legend recap. I’ll make a note to modify the beta files when I get the chance. I will also make a note to make a note in the game to the beta testers that the legend run-down won’t appear like that in the actual game.

Yes, there are at present two ways to save Andy. The first and most obvious is to be a doctor and save his life that way. The second is to be an idiot in the first chapter and then brings things to a shocking conclusion.
-
Thanks. A lot. Seriously. Today has been difficult.
VoodooDolly- Good catches. In particular, I thought I altered all the Spanish references. It appears not. I also like your catch on guardaespaldas and Agustina. I would not have know the intricacies of that as I am a native English speaker with only a bit of Latin and far less Spanish under my belt.
As far as persuasion goes, there are a great many points where persuasion could be used to alter the course of things, so I’m not quite certain where to begin. Worse, sometimes it only subtly nudges things in your direction, such as during the oratory at the Evening Star saloon during Chapter five. A high persuasion simply starts with more crowd appeal than there would otherwise be.
SpiderGirl- Okay, I took a look at the code in the dropbox (My writing computer is having issues) and I found a flaw. Apparently I put in an equals sign where there should have been a greater than sign. Schmidt should be romancable now when you go and talk to him about possible evidence against Marshal Steele. (Not the ask-a-favor section found during the interlude between Chapter four and five)
When I tried to seize the mining camp using the bear skin I got an error message and the game crashed out.
Bloodwyche- That’s not good. Do you recall the error message? The bear skin only comes up a couple of times and should be easy to find. I’m glad you caught it too, because it didn’t show up in autotest.
When you romance Schmidt it keeps looping you back on the questions so no way to end without restarting
Roslyn_samalt06 - Ah, sorry about that. I hastily copied some text and forgot to change the goto scenes. Should be fixed now.
What did you think of the romance scenes? There is still plenty of time to add or subtract from them as need be.
@AllenGies
Still doing that double sentence:
[“Miss Caraway glances at you, hides a smile. “Too bad about the wagon. I think I need a drink. Why don’t you come sit with me.” Why don’t you come sit with me, see if we can’t be better friends.” ]
Tried to duplicate the bear skin crash but it didn’t happen this run.
Game crashed when I tried to welcome Maria’s uncle with the following message
[line 590: It is illegal to fall out of *choice statement, you must*goto or *finish before the end of the indented block]
