Tin Star testing

I don’t remember my legend, but it was good.

I was reading this yesterday and found a few typos I thought to bring to your attention.
I’m PMing you the details not to clutter the thread.

Also, this is a real amazing game and story. May actually trump Marine Raiders.

JimD- Thanks. I too am hoping that it will exceed Marine Raider.

Also, I got your PM. Lots of good stuff there that I just corrected in the master file. You should be able to see it after the next update… which is still a ways off.

i captured the miners without anybody dying, i released the miners so they could negotiate, then i said i wouldnt fine them, then the game froze it says dropbox isnt responding to to a long-running script is the problem my computer or the story?

All I get when I click the link is

This would be the beta test for tin star but I can’t figure out how to make it work thus it doesn’t

It seems I’m going to have to craft a Mygame.js file for Tin-Star as the program continues to grow. Fortunately, I now know how to do that.

bump

Yeah, I know. Been busy. Day work is giving me fits these past weeks and I’ve been too tired to commit my usual hours I put into programming. I believe I’ll push through the new mygame.js file and include the interlude scenes (For walking around town and looking into things when you aren’t so pressed for time). That will give people something to gnaw on other than my leg.

IT took me all over. First the south but then the north because that was where the money resided

Should be It not IT, when you allow Preston to talk all he wants

And also, Chinese names have surnames before names, so if my name is Xiao Luo, my surname is Wang, my full name would be Wang Xiao Luo not Xiao Luo Wang

Xt1000305- Ah, I love eliminating typos. Thank you.

The Chinese surnames before names is a bit trickier. If it is a western speaker, they’ll screw up the order because they don’t know any better (although there may be exceptions to that). If it is in the stat screen, I can’t actually code around it because that portion of the code won’t accept *if statements. At least, it didn’t the last time I tried.

If you can tell me where the trouble is, just a brief bit of the line, I will try to adjust things where I can to take into account Chinese names and their order versus the standard western sequence. Until I finish the current chapter though, and indeed perhaps the whole program, things are probably going to remain messy.

I just tried the capture the miners option and the browser froze when I was deciding to take a cut of the proceeds.

Finally completed a draft of the interlude scene and chapter 5 has nearly come together as well. That means there will be an update of some sort soon. Much depends on how this weekend goes vis-a-vis debugging.

cant wait!

can someon help me with using dropbox

Froze when i hit the scene where i let indian blow up dam.

Okay. the semi-update is ready. I’ve split the story into chapters, which should speed up loading time. More importantly, by popular demand, there are interlude scenes between chapter two and three and also three and four. This is a chance to walk about the town and do more mundane things without having to be under the gun of events.

This also incorporates a number of changes and debugs bugs that users have spotted previously Hopefully, Aznxa, this will also fix the freezing problems.

Irule9344- I know a little bit about dropbox after having used it for a while, What seems to be your trouble?

@Allen,
After you kill Tumbleweed Jack, Preston still says you sent him off for reasons he doesn’t understand.
Is it supposed to say that?
