The Wayhaven Chronicles: Book One (WIP)

Really lime it. Very intriguing, but nahh to morgan as RO I feel like she’ll get tired of me a kill. I’m going after Ava or Nat, fro sho though. And Farah the best wouldn’t RO her but I love how she teases Ava about being shot.:joy: Can’t wait for more:ok_hand:

@Laguz you are indeed poor tea. Theres no need to
antagonise the author, If you found The demo/story cliche and so on there was no need for you to even comment, in fact you can even ignore the topic, like we have a Button for that <,~ And your
Yeah, too bad almost everyone forgets about nb genders but okay, whatever. Sure.
was so uncalled for. Like If you really want NP genders to play make a game yourself. I would never try and put People down because i couldent play my MC in yaoi style like why?

@Seraphinite but kudos to ya darling, you are a really sweet person  :heart::heart:

Oh my god… calling being able to play as a gay man main character “playing yaoi style”… mega cringe…

It’s nb, not np.

To be completely fair here, there are more people besides @Laguz that want a NB option. So I would say your:

Was as uncalled for as people antagonising the author.

No i dont think that was uncalled for, because instead of getting all mean about nb, he/she/they/then could have said it in a maybe more nice way. But i will leave it at that sammysam.

@Laguz - I apologise, it wasn’t my intention to upset you! You just didn’t seem overly enamoured of the vampire romance options, so I genuinely hoped you found something else to your liking. Not every story is going to suit everyone

Non-binary options for the MC was suggested by DevilTheCupcake, a couple of posts above yours, and I thought it was a good idea, so they were already going to be added in.

It’s true, I’m not yet used to including all options yet as I am new to it (everyone has to start somewhere, right? ), but I hope it will become second-nature to me the more I learn and write this kind of fiction.

@AwkwardNature - I’m glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, Morgan is an interesting romance option- don’t think they’ll appeal to everyone  Hopefully Ava and Nat will suit though!

@GloriaRose - Thank you for the kind response! Hopefully I can add options enough to please everyone, but I think that might be impossible. Still, I can add what I can

@Sammysam - I didn’t address the issue of NB genders, because it had already been mentioned and I think it is definitely something to add  Hopefully I’ll have it in the demo by the end of the week!

Then i am glad  i was a bit worried since some people find it hard to add some sexual or non sexual orients to their story and make it work. I will be looking forward for your improvment

I can overlook minor personal distastes and clichés. I’ve been here a long time, I’ve tested all sorts of games, for quality if nothing else.

After all, the only dating sim I’ve ever found geared towards nbs (which doesn’t have a nb romance option, at that) is Date Nighto’s Hustle Cat.

That’s great! It would be nice though if the player could be nb and there is at least one (or better, two) romance option or other main character that is nb.

That way, even if you’re not playing as a non-binary character there’s good representation in the game.

If you need help with anything, just PM me. Don’t worry about what exactly. I’m bedridden at the moment, it’ll give me something more to do.

My pronouns are in my description.

So say if you go on date with them and you get cut and they didn’t eat, would mc have to fight for his life?

Also, you know how getting shot hurt Ava, and “The agent lady” threatens them with the gun if they get shot in the head would they die, or would it be a banging headache?

But yeah I like Ava because I like how so would be so stand-off-ish because he shot her, so it wpuld be fun to RO her. Because I feel like if the Mc gets into trouble she’ll she how he handles and finally after seeing he goes in reluctantly help him at first. And I like Nat because she’s responsible one out of all and seems to be probably the chill RO.

One more question, are you going to describe how they look or we picture that ourselves?

Am I the only person on here, that shot her on purpose? I mean I did say not to move.

@FairyGodfeather wrote a good post about yaoi a while back. It’s worth rereading the whole thing, but here’s the key quote:

When someone says they want to play “yaoi style,” we shouldn’t assume that they’re using it as a synonym for “gay male MC.” Yaoi is a genre, and it makes sense for people to say they want to play in the style of that genre.

When someone makes clear that they are trying to use yaoi as a synonym for gay male, then just flag it.

Using “yaoi” as a synonym will be offensive to lots more of the people you’re trying to reference, @GloriaRose Unless you’re gay yourself, or speaking with a gay person who’s told you that they personally prefer a different label, it’s always best to use the description most people prefer.

@Havenstone Oh thank you for that

I always enjoy playing a cop that twists the law to get things done, or just makes everyone’s day miserable. when I saw the Mayor’s kid, I was deeply unhappy that we couldn’t choose to just step on the phone. :smiling_imp:

Lmbo, i let him go but I also didn’t listen to no drinking or eating sign😂. Im definitely going to be bending rules were I see fit.

But on the real I would of lose my job foreal if I saw that shit, when they weren’t looking I’ll be so gone. I’m not no scaredy cat but forreal what they were doing an average human couldn’t do. Best believe I wouldn’t be saying police freeze.:joy: But no doubt, I like this game on everything!

Awww…that kid actually seemed cute, like he was trying at least. Many modern kids seem to have a social media addiction. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
My mc would have reserved the stepping on the phone for if he really was a spoiled brat who considered himself too good to work.

Word, thats why I let him go except for the cute part lol, he’s just a kid.

Well… He wasn’t working.

I’ve played ‘The Lady’s Choice’ a good number of times, so it was a fantastic surprise to see you posting here! I’m definitely liking the game very much – you’ve built up the world nicely and the story flows seamlessly, so even if we do get choices, it’s very coherent as a whole.

Two things:

(1) This quote on the first scene: “Dear, dear,” he tugs on Murphy’s mangled hand, dragging him over the slick surface of the lino, “I don’t want to break you, doctor.”

It should be “Dear, dear.” He tugs on Murphy’s mangled hand, dragging him over the slick surface of the lino. “I don’t want to break you, doctor.” ‘Tugging’ isn’t a way you speak, so there’s no need for the comma. I haven’t seen this anywhere else in demo though, so I don’t know whether it was a typo or not.

(2) We do get a lot of choices but sometimes it doesn’t feel as though there’s a consequence for those actions. Super banal, but for instance, when you choose to either bring the drink/food with you or not (despite the sign), I get that’s supposed to a way to determine conforming v. rebelliousness. But it also needs to fit in with the story, so maybe if someone chooses to bring the drink/food with them, add in an offhand comment about someone eyeing the objects disapprovingly or whatever else. It’s a small thing, but often games can make you feel as though, despite your choices, you’re not really having an effect on anything, and this would be a good way to give a sense of autonomy.

Anyway, despite all of that, I am super looking forward to how the game continues. That twist in the last scene really was something!
