The Wayhaven Chronicles: Book One (Discussion) FAQ Located on Post 2

I’ve been rewatching Venture Bros. recently, and this quote reminds me greatly of A and their propensity to break. things.

His hands are strong enough to crush a boulder, yet gentle enough to crush a butterfly.

not that A would ever crush a butterfly, but still, you get the joke

What about the MC trying to flirt with A by inviting them over to “fix their car.”

And then A comes over and fixes their car without so much as looking at the MC.

A: under the car
A: I see the problem, Detective. It should only take me a few hours to fix.
MC: standing there in sexy lingerie
MC: Great… Thanks…

Free car repair though? Hell yeah.

MC: Is there some way I can…repay you…?

A: Of course. First of all, always check your oil, this is incredibly important. Next, make sure that you use premium, premium, Detective—actually, go get a paper because this can get rather long.

I would like to add:
MC: crying inside

I agree.

Quality > Quantity

It’s perfectly fine if there’s not a lot of talk on here. There is a discord after all where people can post all kinds of nonsensical things or talk about each other’s day or whatever.

M is very physical. :smirk: Deeper into the relationship, he’d be up for that stuff. They may not initiate it, but they wouldn’t turn away the detective either. Sera has also made that clear. But like @Hannah_Minger said, it also might probably be the closest she could find out of those 5.

I wonder if he would offer to tinker around with our car… Or at least get out the dent he put in it.

Oh wow, only 30 messages to go guys! We did it! :tada::tada:

Also, @michellexylee, I join what @spunkycatninja said about M and physical touch. We have gone through one book, and M doesn’t open up easily, but they will very likely be the kind of RO that doesn’t speak much about feelings, but unconsciously holds your hand, walks with their arm around you, keeps an eye on your without even noticing, and stuff like that.

Would punching Bobby count as an expression of the physical love language?

Edit: I was talking about M punching Bobby for MC, but this is fine too.

Kinky.

But no, I don’t think that counts as love.

Some of my detectives would like to test that… LOL Especially Sophie.Over and over and over. She hates him.

A: While you’re at it, put something on before you catch a cold. Struggles to ignores the burning ember flaming up deep inside.

lol, That’s true, I’m pretty sure A can rein in their emotions rather well, and it’s usually when talking about cars or the MC’s safety.

A’s kink is the continued security and welfare of their loved ones.

MC: Don’t worry— punch —I’m doing this because I—punch —still love you, you— punch —dirtbag.
Bobby: dazed and bleeding I… give people… cough what they want

MC: OK, ok, I’ll check the oil—

A: Detective, do you even know how to check?

MC: I—have a guy!

A: [sighs] Put on a coat, I’m showing you. [already walking into the hallway] It’s really quite simple.

MC: [quiet sobbing] Ok…

The MC winds up unintentionally learning a lot about cars to the point of actually impressing A.
Bonus points if A tries to make a move and the MC just thinks they’re still chatting about cars.
