Being family doesn’t mean you can’t be blamed for things you did wrong. If the king tricked a commoner into an adulterous relationship, the king is a really bad guy. If the MC’s mom didn’t die during childbirth and chose to live in the castle where she and her child would be hated, she’s bad. We could have just lived like rich merchants, funded by the tax payers, elsewhere and had happiness.
The king had a male heir and was still willing to have relations with the queen, so he couldn’t have been completely unhappy with the arrangement. The queen was also forced into marriage, so she should at least be respected and not forced to live with an adulteress and her child.
The king had never shown my MC that she was loved in the game. Yes, MC has a place to live, food, and the king doesn’t tolerate the MC being mistreated in front of him, but the MC had to live her entire life hated by her own step/half family because of the king’s actions. My MC is probably not 100% mentally and is supper butter. When you are an adult and the king, you put the wants and needs of your family of not being cheated on/ostracized first. Adulting 101. I don’t trust the king or my mother.
