I believe the patch will also include some side quests, which I hope means we will have an opportunity to interact with some of the mirror characters that I mentioned.
We could be seeing the start of a turn around for him, based on his reaction if MC has maintained their stance that Richard is family and decided to make him advisor.

Every romance character is unlock. Its a game after all 
No, the routes run in parallel, each using their respective approach. Some are compatible with one another leading to a poly relationship, and some aren’t (maybe leading to drama)
Xavier+Jarean and Xavier+Clara are explicitly supported by the game script right now. Others aren’t, for what it’s worth. That isn’t to say then cannot happen, but the implementation isn’t there. and given some could already be established during the Ch.7 dance scene but weren’t, that can suggest their (lack of) viability.
I’m not sure actually if it’s ever been established which/if other characters are poly compatible except Clara and Lena
Imo there could be potential poly compatibility for Maevra and Clara or Revna and Nicholas(for maximum toxicity)
so either way no you’re not locked in but if you romance Clara you might wanna stick with her or her and Lena to avoid aforementioned drama
Ah that’s fair I hadn’t considered the actual code of the game and stuff beyond chemistry. Like now that I’ve thought about it…
an MC with high ruthless, impulsive, and deceptive x Revna x Nicholas would be nightmare couple of the century.
It might make sense but it would be bad for literally everyone
Nicholas is sort of monogamous in the sense he fine with the MC sleeping with other people so long as they don’t catch feelings.
So depending on how things play out, MC x Revna x Nicholas is technically possible.
what of a tri poly?
Not possible because Nicholas doesn’t want the MC to fall for someone else or take an another spouse.
Revna also isn’t interested in sharing the MC.
i think it shouldnt have a limit tbh,just what the mc can handle and if they cant take the cues to convince each of their partners that other relationships wont affect theirs,then that relationship can be broken/the mc gets broken up with but it shouldnt be restricted to two people
I imagine it would be a bit of headache for the author to account for a MC who basically got a harem. 
Besides it makes sense that not all ROs are poly.
After what happened with our father’s marriage, I bet some MC’s will only marry one RO to make sure there wont be a repeat to what our mom did.
Or if we must marry another RO for an alliance for example, at least make sure to treats them right even if we don’t love them.

Probably worth noting that in this version of the game there’s nothing (yet) about Astryn that’d make her deserve getting lumped together with openly immoral pirate asshole. Her only “crime” is that she is supporting a guy who both she and he believe to have been wronged by actual villains of the story.
True (thanks again Charles), but she is actively trying to bring about your downfall and very much would have killed you by now if she had the opportunity (which I’m pretty sure she tries after you capture her), thus I’ve lumped her into the “Red flag because you’re technically directly opposed to this person due to ongoing politics” group.
Not that any of that is stopping me.
Ok bit of a hot take that probably going to get me crucified but I fail to see how Charles didn’t treat alvena right. He gave alvena everything she could possibly want, her own room, a personal servant, a daughter who loved her and having power and influence as the king’s wife.
Only thing Charles failed to provide to alvena was his love but you can’t really blame him for that. Though I will admit I maybe biased against alvena because I really hate her for neglecting her daughter (which Charles is guilty of too) and poisoning Isabelle.
Honestly everybody involved in that story is a villain in one way or another to the point where Isabelle and Alvena are arguably the second and third biggest villains in the story, but I blame Charles in part because giving material possessions and power isn’t always a substitute for an emotional connection. Yes it’s unfair to say Charles should’ve forced himself to love her because that’s crazy, but if he treated her anything like he did his own kids, then I’d say he emotionally neglected her and hardly treated her as a person at all. He could have at least treated her like a friend while making it clear he didn’t see her in a romantic way, but Charles, like he always does, chooses option 3: the bad one, just neglecting her like he neglects every loved one in his life.
Unlike you, I’m absolutely biased against Charles, but I think it’s fair to say that he’s not very emotionally present at all for the people who need him to be, which only makes their various issues even worse. All that being said, it certainly doesn’t justify Alvena poisoning her (ex-)best friend, nor does it justify Isabelle using Richard as some kind of tool to get revenge.
Okay yeah after saying all this, I’m realizing how much I don’t like any of these people; were it not for the emotional and political fallout from doing so, I’d just have Isabelle and Alvena killed in accidents and call it a day.
To be fair she has no reason to believe the true version of events that actually happened being spoonfed a bunch of rubbish in the southern kingdoms which hates ours. Its just an excuse to finally rage war against us. To her we are probably just murders who removed the legitimate ruler. Guess we will have how things play out with her in this version but we the fact actually to decide what to do with her in this after capturing makes this version better. She might actually be useful as a prisoner in this one if we can get information from her if we successfully break her.
There are routes for sleeping with Revna without romance and playing with Clara’s feeling. I believe there is also something like a toxic relationship with Xavier too but I am not sure.
