This is exactly my thoughts and also why I won’t marry off the pirate romancing sister. Way too easy to provoke a reaction out of it and get pirates even more mad at us. I’ll probably end up killing her if she gets caught which is less of a headache.
Wow…and here I thought that her initial frozen reaction was more shock than genuine anger (if you’d gotten her relationship increases). How’d you get her to be openly happy for you in the demo?
I… dunno? Maybe I had a high relationship with her? I can’t remember, it’s been a while. And I can’t check, because my laptop fried in the meantime, so all my dash saves from before that are gone. I wasn’t specifically TRYING to have her support, so it’s probably not hard.
I wonder how the siblings would react to perfectly-arranged (MC married him for political reasons but both carried a torch for each other long before) or romantic MC/Xavier, if MC is the ruler and if MC isn’t the ruler.
Lol mine was that she looks down no reaction
Tbf I don’t think we have to worry about Freya, she seems like she will support the MC no matter what. Of course personal bias is in that statement. No matter my play through I always have a good relationship with her and she is my favorite of the three siblings, no jealous, no aggression, just a normal sister with a potential kingdom shattering crush.
I’d caveat that with “we don’t have to worry about Freya DIRECTLY”, because there’s no way she’s going to make a play for the throne. That doesn’t preclude her being the cause of issues, like, for example, people finding out she’s dating a pirate and the MC not executing everyone involved.
In my main playthrough I won’t be close to her that much because I’m afraid of the consequences of her actions. We should all come around and talk about strategies to deal with the general problems once the game comes out tho, we might be able to find a way to have the best ending in all areas or at least something close to that.
Not that i don’t like her tho, i think she’s great. But too many issues.
Yeah, I’m sure the pirate thing will become public at some point. I hope we get a way of helping her to run away with him without anyone knowing cause that would be a hard reputation hit. If that’s not possible then… Yep
Honestly, i’ve no idea since i haven’t played the full game, but there’s no way to, in a good conscience, let your sister run off with someone who is attacking your own kingdom and plundering your citizens.
But then again, maybe you’ll get the opportunity to give the pirate boyfriend an Letter of Marque. After all, that would allow him to serve the kingdom and make it so he doesn’t have to be executed immediately. Not to mention hurting the southern invaders. I mean, they’re bound to have ships of their own, yes? If not military, then normal cargo ships.
I think it’s already been said by the author (on Tumblr asks if I’m not mistaken?) That the pirate she’s dating isn’t a bad dude, which is why I’d be agreeing on letting her go in the first place. Letting her stay either means death for her or feeding fire for the rebellion once they find out about him tho. Very complicated situation, I’d rather she’s living happily away from us than cutting off her head.
It’s not as much as “let her go” as much as “I can’t just let an princess go off with some random thug”. If he’s an actual pirate, then his morality is hardly exemplar, but if he’s not even bothering to stop attacking our kingdom, then he can’t be allowed to continue on.
Which is why, for example, giving him a Letter of Marque, that is to say, making him an Corsair with the freedom to plunder our enemy (the southern kingdom) as he sees fit, he would be able to redeem his position as an enemy of the realm.
True but that does mean having to deal with the rebellion saying you’re conspiring with the pirates and the general population disapproving it. Maybe a very charming MC can pull that off.
Patreon demo still available?
OR , OR MC can just marry off Freya to Xavier instead and then after MC Annex enemy Kingdom, MC can betray the alliance and Let Freya marry the pirates in exchange for his alliagiance and a share of loots. Who cares if the noble don’t like it, if MC is strong and resourceful MC can just Defeat the Rebels and take their Titles, Lands, and Wealths.
1 - Marrying Freya off to Xavier doesn’t mean you annex the kingdom.
2 - This sounds like a great way to get murdered, because the nobles hate you, the commoners hate you, and nobody’s going to help you because you’ve proven yourself untrustworthy.
“if MC is strong and resourceful MC can just Defeat the Rebels and take their Titles, Lands, and Wealths.” Someone has been playing too much Crusader Kings and watching way too much of Kingdom. It doesn’t work like that, also if you break the alliance it instantly turns to a 4v1 and regardless of your resourcefulness you’re gonna get killed. Now if there was some major threat across the sea your pirate idea could work (with a lot of tweaking mind you), problem here is the only oceanic threat to the kingdom are pirates. Now that I think about it you can’t even do this in Crusader Kings, I have had my family and nobles turn against me for less in that game.
Nobles will join MC if they get on some action too, I mean noble usually have some shady dealing or need of smuggling right, soo don’t MC have leverage here ?
In CK if you have faction in court, better to imprison them one by one, either fabricate evidence or get real evidence, buy some favor, and with a little of assasination, high intrigue, and big intimidation level, it can get the job done.
Take care of enemy kingdom first, then do a noble purging(blackmail, buying favor, make some secret alliance), bring benefit to the people so they will look away.
Hard and stressful of course but possible
There’s no real reason to marry freya to xavier when you can marry lena and gain both an ally in their court and an continuation to the heirline. Attempting to take their kingdom will only lead to their side aiding the enemy in the war.
The thing is my MC don’t want to marry lena.
I want blood and chaos
BTW how many kingdom is there on this story ?
