Yeah, I’m also getting that same issue where she loses her powers. I assumed it might be explained in Shattered worlds, but didn’t remember it before I did my 2 recent playthroughs after coming back from a year or so ago, before the save system went in.
We actually had a bugfix for that, but it didn’t go out. We’re pushing the patch today.
UNMARKED SPOILERS
I just played through Shattered Worlds and died to the assassin. I tend to try to talk characters into surrendering or joining forces. Despite an oratory of around 60, I guess I didn’t make the right choices and died, rather unceremoniously.
Kinda p***ed right now but that should go away in about 10 minutes. I’ll do another run eventually but I don’t want to waste my time going through ANOTHER playthrough only to die or make a wrong choice because it seems you are guessing (I review my stats, including stances, but it didn’t help). Any good advice to actually win and have a generally positive outcome?
Stat-wise, I did Insight (83), Combat (I think around 65) and Oratory I think 60. Decent in other areas. My character’s stance is to just be fair all around, try to keep people safe without another agenda. I used Insight to determine that Deliah was fake at the ball but screwed up at the pirate ship… still burned about that.
Side note: I know this is controversial but I REALLY think these games need save features, even if only between chapters. I had to redo the previous title three times to recreate my first playthrough since the original edition did not save your end state. It’s also why I will NEVER pick up any sequel to Werewolf: Haven Rising the I was deep into the game when it lost my progress and it’s just too much to go back to recreate.
Life is too short to do unwanted playthroughs; I’m not a “play it as it lies” person… probably why I don’t play golf.
Thank you.
PS: I really do love the world that the author created; if I didn’t, I wouldn’t bother investing the time in that I have. I just don’t want that investment to be a wise one. Thank you again.
This has probably been gone into, but Venusian sexual agnosticism seemed a bit odd to me at first; humans have a sex drive for clear survival-of-species reasons. But the Venusians are maybe more concerned about the huge excessive interest humans have in sex and all that surrounds it, leading to destructive overpopulation of Earth, rather than growing a planned number offspring from seeds more sensibly. It is an interesting picture of an alien race.
I was also initially confused by the asexual Lady Wailer undertaking a fake partnership with another asexual woman in one epilogue; the point of compulsory marriage for noble daughters is to perpetuate the bloodline (This is an unreasonable hard reason why perfect acceptance of same sex relationships usually shown in COG won’t be seen in reality for many years). Even if Aetherfall hasn’t got an invention for this sort of thing, though, Wailer’s parents presumably want her to marry for nothing but the respectable appearance of stability.
To cut a long story short too late, this is great series. It took me some time to pick up Shattered Worlds but it’s even better.
Is Hallow always “Lady” Hallow or is their gender the opposite of the protagonist’s?
can someone remind me what are Mr.Inks powers, same with Dusks
I am confused. I captured Dr. Eisengeist without it coming to a fight, but the achievement Justice Served: Capture Dr. Eisengeist alive. (40 points) is still locked. Is there something specific I needed to do there?
I love this series as well. Does anyone know if there is going to be another book?
I know this is a old game with a old topic but that Jane Willow ending its one of the worsts endings i ever see for the protagonist, my god, spoilers, you save her from a fall and in the end when you propose to her after saving the city, she refuses and just want to stay friends… Worst ending.Made me hate this game.
Edit: I discovered its because i dont lowered her fear enought, and got the worst possible ending for her, nice… not really, still bad ending for me.
