The Royal Legacy (New Poll on post #1466) (Hiatus)

Can you explain what about whisper you don’t like? Although only the job description has been put up really. Whisper’s hasn’t shown you anything just yet  that’s for next scene.

It’ll help when you can tell me for the sake of improvement.

i’ll be honest there isn’t a reason but have you ever played a game or
watched a movie and there’s that 1 character you just don’t like but you
cant find a reason why well that is how whisper is to me

im not asking you to cut her from the game but just make sure you give us a
reason to like her.

DId I just see “House Doritos”? XD

House names are ok-ish the first name need some work.
you need to have balance between shotouts and decent names.
The shotouts in house names arent THAT immersion breaking as the first names. definitelly have few more(5,6) first names that are lore-friendly. Because i doubt you have Uchichas and stuff in lore.

TLDR IS AT END OF POST
Whisper: “Due to my father’s profession I was kept at a distance
for the sake of the house. My father was pronounced dead only a week or
so ago, around the same time as your own fathers death. His body was
never recovered. Do you not find it strange that only days apart key
members of house Baruch begin dying? My father wasn’t the most loving
father and may not have been there when I needed him most, but he was my
father all the same. Through serving you I’ll discover the truth behind
his death. In doing so we’ll learn if your father died of age as they
claim or…”

Whisper falls silent. The women bows her head towards you as Serenity lowers her sword ever so slightly.

Strange women:
"I am no mere woman Lord Crow. I am known as Whisper. And secrets are
my game. I’ll keep things short. Every house has secrets they want kept
from the light. Nobles employ spy masters to ensure those secrets stay
just where they are and that the secrets of others are brought out.
You’ll need one of your own and I’m just the one to do it.

after asking her why Come here. previous dialog transfers over.

OK SO TLRD the im no mere woman Lord “name” keeps transfering to the dialogue choices.

@darren_muir haha I can understand that much, yes I’ll see about making adjustments in the coming scenes. Our newest guest, doesn’t give off the most loving appeal.

@DeezNuts lol yes you did

@CaesarCzech Mmm I think I’ll see to it I get that fixed, those names were mainly put in due to the need to have fillers ended up forgetting and mmm, not such bad reception, but you’re right they do need to be limited more.

  • I’ll take a look right away.
  • Fixed.

Adding new stats to the game soon, let me know if they look like they need another Serenity Explanation time.

Makes me wonder if I should add resources to the game…

Lumber:
Stone:
Food:

Hmm…

And there we are. Though I’m still not sure about the resources. It could be useful for marketplace and trade, but don’t want anyone getting too confused on it.

Perhaps in the stats screen rulership would be better suited than judgement - Tyrannical Ruler and Compassionate Ruler.

@Inquisition That’s a good point there o.o I’ll get to changing that.

Is it better to be feared or loved. To be seen as a cruel lord or a merciful one. We’ll soon find out.

she doesn’t need to give off any appeal but if she was going to be an
assassin for the MC i guess i was hoping she would have a kakashi hatake
personality

You could also have arbitrary vs just (in the vies of the law)

@darren_muir I fear my intent wasn’t to make her an assassin for the MC, though I’m curious what do you see kakashi hatake’s personally as?

@alexxo97 Hmmm…I’ll have a look at when laws are offered. If at random occurrences, well wouldn’t it downgrade the point of arbitrary if your people revolt after only so many.

What i meant by laws was in the sence that, a lord was the final judge in his territory. So if you where very arbitrary means that you sentenced people at a whim (not necessarily too harshly but just without following the priper appilcation of the law) this wouldnt neaseserily cause people to revolt, unless you where both arbitrary and cruel but it could aimply make corruption have an easier time to fester in your realm but if you where just then corruption wouldnt spread so easily but at the same time by being just you whould sometimes have to sentence people close to you.

Well well I think that reminded me of another feature in the game.

Trials. The people presenting you with their troubles. And you deciding how to deal with it.

Yes I think I see it now.

cool, relaxed but always alert loyal to the core and he’s the best at what
he does

but by his enemies he is feared and respected he gives of a type of aura
that whenever he’s around that’s when you feel most safe

kakashi hatake is my all time favorite anime ninja/assassin out of every
anime in the world and if you could give whisper even a little bit of hs
personality i’d be most appreciative

also i like what you said about dealing with problems around your hold like
even little stuff like this

you are walking through the marketplace of you’re keep when you see a guard
arresting a boy for stealing a loaf of bread the boy claims to have done it
to feed his poor family so they can eat what do you do ?

“good choice” pay for the loaf of bread and some other food for the boy’s
family

“neutral choice” pay for the loaf of bread for the boy’s family but he must
spend a week in a prison cell for stealing

"bad choice* have the boy’s hand cut off for stealing

That’s not a bad scenario, though there wouldn’t technically be a good or bad choice. Afterall the bad choice teaches a lesson and definitely helps put your people on the straight and narrow path. hehe the life of tyranny is a harsh one.

I’ll see what I can do with that personality. Though that sounds about what I was making her out to be, the enemy part, well sort of, she wouldn’t be very good at her job if her enemies knew her so well

well maybe just the cool relaxed but always alert part can be her
personality

and it would be evil i mean cutting off someones hand for stealing a loaf
of bread does sound a little tyrannical

also i have something that makes me confused

you say that paragons are loyal forever and will be forever loyal to
they’re lord but but lets say your first paragon will be your paragon
because you saved her daughter from slavery or something ok then lets skip
5 years or something and im the most feared lord in the kingdom and i deal
in slavery and i have bandits and mercenaries on my payroll doing whtever i
say will she be loyal to a person as bad as the people who kidnapped her
daughter all those years ago ?

Picturing it like this. A paragon is someone who has sworn their life to you. They probably have nothing left and nothing to live for. Everyone knows they’re a paragon. If they decide to betray you they’re sentencing themselves to death. A paragons loyalty is not only sacred, it is binding. They may voice their opinions or choose not to get any closer than they need to, but their loyalty belongs to you.

Does that explain it better?

And to note. In some people’s eyes such as the shopkeeper where the theft takes place, it was the right thing to do. Setting the law straight where none escape it. Though who can argue that’s it’s cruel.
