The Royal Legacy (New Poll on post #1466) (Hiatus)

@maj12 As Artemis would advise, right between the fifth and sixth rib for proper efficiency. But ah, in the end yes.

Yay for stabbing in the neck…sucks Assassin’s Legacy didn’t work put ,but this seems to have a good following.

@maj12 Ah, don’t get me wrong here, Assassins Legacy isn’t without hope. The Royal Legacy is simply another one of the projects I’m working on, that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working on Assassins Legacy as well. For the most part it’s working out well and if progress continues as plans, it should be up as planned. Was there a particular part of TRL (The royal Legacy) that made you think it showed such promise?

That it has an interesting plot and I find it entertaining.

That’ll do just fine

I’ll see to hoping the game meets those expectations in the future.

I think most people here have the interesting part as “I just want to see the world burn, I want to be the one to do it and TLR gives me my chance”

I’ll just have to see about reintroducing things then
The prologue has given me a good viewpoint on things. Some adjustments are in order for the chapters. A more direct approach. Destruction is an interesting thing that tends to come right back around.

I think I’d prefer to go Bladestorm style and be a merc that eventually becomes General and changes the course of history! Without the whole “ruling the lands” part. The simple and easy life for this noble. Time to abandon my rights and take as much money as I can and run away into the night shouting to all that I took their money, because @Arcania gave me the option to.

Pffft that’s great!!

As for me I’m going to conquer the throne of Imortalia and change the course of history! (for the best I hope).
Just you wait

And If that fails, well… I guess I’ll have to follow your example

:tropical_drink: Looks like vacation time is over. Hope everyone enjoyed their holidays as well. :tropical_drink:

 Good news! The royal legacy (TRL) is off of its month long haitus!
:unamused: Bad news… TRL is shifting to alpha testing via private one on one feedback and game construction.

Notice! I’m still looking for more Alpha Tester, although keep in mind, I’m only looking for a few. (Preferably, let me know via private message) Alpha testers will be needing to go into in depth feedback. "I loved it!"Sadly doesn’t help with improving. “Not what I expected” Doesn’t make the leap for criticism. If you think you’re up for it and willing let me know. And do make sure you have time on your hands. Thank you

Notice: Changes have been made, but their mainly to the stat page. And finally, I do still plan on allowing updates to leak through to this thread, however they’ll come a week after alpha testers look it over. So this thread will continue for beta testing to the public.

Thank you everyone.

Looks like I’ve collected enough people for a small on the go testing. However, if you’re still wanting to alpha test I’ll be happy to put yo down on … The List.

Till then, just a small little note. I believe I’ll be removing the former halloween idea. (Necromancer coming back and laying siege on the castle.) Or at least I’ll be putting it on hold for now till I can work it into the story better. On the upside, I think a replacement for that would be a nice Murder Mystery.

Haunted keep. Locked inside with advisers and several visiting nobles. One by one people are vanishing. Or perhaps that’s a bit much, I’m sure no one is . For the most part I hope I can code it in a way that the culprit is randomized for play-ability sake. But ah this is all in the idea phase. Who knows if anything will come of it. :smiling_imp:

Hmm I don’t know about the murder mystery unless you can code enough to where each culprit leaves signs distinctive to them. I recall another game did a murder mystery (can’t for the life of me remember what it was… Something about an Ape suit) and the murderer was randomized every time, but I didn’t notice any difference in signs, clues, etc that could pin point the murderer. Just choose and hope it’s right. At least that is what I remember. Granted this was years ago so I may not have just noticed any differences in dialogue.

Edit: actually I can see some ways to do that, buuuuut it would take a good bit of coding. I’ll pm you the idea and try to explain it as best as I can. So be prepared to be confused.

Haha confusion is usually the first stap. Unraveling is the leap.

I believe there’s a way to keep the coding… simple… ish.
The mean problem would be writing the tale so the answer isn’t so simple and yet not too impossible.

If this was any other game I would just have the MC be a killer >.>
Hmm… self thoughts… mc killing everyone in the house huh… hoping not to draw too much suspicion… Now that… I think I’ll be up for doing, though the keeping it simple part would be the issue. (I’ll make a separate game for that. Small one. A spin off of both assassins and royal legacy. Possibly have it for the chronicle contest.)

What are we? A Dark Brotherhood member in Oblivion??
Also you could probably make a complicated quest and just have all of the coding on a different scene and do a *return or *goto_scene command at the very end to continue where you left off. At least to avoid a chapters coding getting too cluttered due to one or two incredibly complex quest.

Clutter wouldn’t be my problem sadly. It would be a matter of staying with the storyline. And… figuring out what codes will be used.

Ah, oblivion, how it brings back memories.

Woo, really glad to see that the thread is now open again. It’s been a long time coming and a great new year gift.

Sad to hear that we probably won’t be taking out a candy hoarding necromancer, but I wouldn’t mind seeing a murder mystery if you could take out an opposing noble.

I think we can consider the return of TRL a New Years and Christmas gift, all in one special

Haha, true I think I’ll go back to the idea of the necromancer.

But I wanted to downsize on the supernatural side of things :confounded:
Maybe the… it was all a dream? Hmm… I have the whole candy scene written out and all. But ah, alternative are so hard to come by.

I been wondering what everyone’s opinion on this is, but for me it irks me that Serenity easily believes you are who you say you are. She approaches with hostility due to other Nobility trying to take your land and just by uttering you first and last name she suddenly takes your words at face value and gives you the grand tour.
For all she knows you could just be a pretender and in no way was that addressed.
Granted the PC did leave at a young age, but even then some are bound to know your name and of course let’s not forget record keeping. If the guards and servants recognize your name it’s highly likely that other Nobles especially ones who want to take your land whether by deceit or force would pay attention to details such as your name
That’s just my take. What does everyone else think?
