The Royal Legacy (New Poll on post #1466) (Hiatus)

You will have a total of 6 advisers. Theirs your actual 3 advisers and the sub advisers that you’ve already met. The 3 you’ve met… are integrated in the plot and game, fraid there’s no real means of getting rid of em. Your core companions that is, excluding your paragons.

Becoming corrupted by the dark arts does not directly kill you, no. However it can lead to your death, no matter how benign the reason for using it, the inquisitors will dig, and if they learn…

Those inquisitors cannot be corrupted? You said that they are humans, humans have wishes and weaknesses. At least some of them must be corruptible.

They are servants of the lady Divine. They are constantly under the scrutiny of the divine order. They are raised from young or birth in the order’s service.

What use would money serve for them when they cannot use them? If they deserted where can they put their skills to use? Why take the risk when they know their brethren will hunt them down?

They are regular people yes, but they are raised to see the darkness as something to be destroyed without hesitation. To want for nothing. To serve none, but the Creator and his words which are that of the Divine.

So to sum that up, when they come, which they will you may choose to stand against them or hope they do not find anything warrant your death.

AGAINST DARKNESS?!!! I HATE THEM ALREADY! When i put my hands on the throne i want to destroy them utterly!! We will have this option in the end? I WILL NOT TOLERATE A RELIGION DEDICATED TO THE LIGHT!

To be simply put, Divinity is Christianity unified and restructured rather than the many upon many branches. They do play a major role, though not one that the MC/Noble will know about or realize. Divinity is the main religion if not the only legal one in the land and also a means for taking the throne, though I won’t get into details or spoiler.

As such, most of the people follow divinity, standing against the inquisitors and the divine will take cunning and the allegiance of the people.

Although, towards the end you will have the option to play a role in their downfall.

@Arcania

So, if bad makes us look like the big baddy, what about being good? Will it give us an “angelical” look?

@Jjcb Oh you can be bad and you’ll look just as you do now. However messing with fate and the fabrics of the world, magic, or as the divine calls all magic (dark magic), the corruption of using such otherworldly powers will slowly affect you. It could be to create a good harvest (though drawing on your neighbors land furtility) and the likes.

So to sum it up. Using the forbidden arts no matter the cause will slowly corrupt you and push you further from divinity. The closer to divinity you get however the less of an affect corruption can have on you if your enemies attempt to use it or otherwise.

Though I suppose it would give you an “Innocent” look and a bit of shine and smoothness to your skin, but I assume that’s from the skin cream gift the lady Divine has sent to you :stuck_out_tongue:

So what we can do exactly using magic? I am interested only in doing horrible things to the world with this power.

Let’s not forget you have a city to run… and a world to rule rather than destroy.

With this power said to have been created to challenge the powers of the Creator, one can perform grand miracles and great deeds. However, the Creator himself has said to have cursed the one(s) who use this power. The more they use it the closer they get to damnation.

Abilities can consist of turning away natural disasters or having good effects come of them. Continuous great harvests.Strengthening your troops. Granting them the ability to ignore pain. Healing if not reviving people from the hands of death. Creating plagues for your enemies.

Now beware, these dark arts may seem irresistible. But imagine just what your neighbors and people will say once they hear about these “miracles” and thus how the inquisitors are attracted. And thus the question of who benefits most from these acts…

Ruling is so boring! I only want to see cities burning and their streets runing red with blood! I am not interested in using dark magic for anything nearly “good”. I only want to unleash the darkness.

Will being a former inquisitor drive off suspicion?

I’m still deciding whether I will change inquisitor back to assassin or not. Being a former inquisitor will help you in such instances and you’ll know a few things about avoiding suspicion, so yea. However you still have your background story and person class plot to contend with

Creating plagues…mm! We can poison their animals or even harvests? A slow very painful poison that will make them beg for death!

NOTICE: I have noticed the link is outdated atm and have been sent a few messages on the matter. I’m sure the problems with the game have been fixed, however I’ve been working on the game for the incoming Halloween update. Which should either be done today, if not tomorrow. (I’ll be pushing for today- see how things go).

@TheCorrupted Be careful what you wish for

Welcome back (I’m a bit late but It’s the thought that counts right?) I’m so glad that there’s going to be an update soon ( an Halloween update!!), I’ve missed my advisers (sub-advisers?) an awful lot.
Please keep up the amazing work, this game is really great!

Oh and btw, are we going to get the chance to spend some time alone with our advisers, maybe a visit to the city centre, an evening at the thermal baths or a (karaoke) night at the pub? No problems to solve, no important decisions to make, just fun!
I’d love to be able to bond with them! (Well either that or I do have a crush on Rolo afterall and I just really want to spend some time with him )

@eVe Great to hear from you and thank you. The sub-advisers (Rolo, Serenity, Artemis) are the one’s you’ve met already. Your advisers who are the elders of the city standing as mentors of your sub advisers are busy keeping your enemies at bay and you have yet to meet them. That or there is too much to code for me to add them in yet :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes! After the Halloween event just a little bit more work to straighten out the city then it’ll be break time. Course I’m setting things up so you’ll be able to have some private time with your advisers.

As for Rolo, glad you enjoy him, I’ve been working on him, but I’m not sure if I’m writing him out of character as I go along or not, I’ll let you decide that one, I’m sure you’ve been keeping an eye on him in court.

I can’t kill my advisers, but i can punish them if they give me the occasion? Serenity have a brother? It would be good for my advisers to have people to care about. :smirk:

Not exactly. Once the prologue is complete there are instances where your advisers can die, leave you, or otherwise be executed by you. You can punish them, though proper and reasonable punishment I’m still thinking up and deciding.

Serenity technically did have a brother. As a paragon his family ties are no more. I’m not so sure you’ll be able to use that :sunny:
