Wait why would you take money and candy from the peasants, send them into battle first against the undead then the ones that don’t return, arrange for someone to “burgle” their homes.
@faewkless A true tyrant I applaud you. Your people suffer, while you and your military reap the benefits and show indifference.
@SheaMcD ProTips… sure you haven’t done this before?
Now understandably your… “suddenly made militia” can’t really run in fear as there’s only one way to really get in and the enemies marching through that way… come to think of it… I believe something similar to this happened in DAO… anyway, when are you planning on joining the battle or do you expect the undead to leave once your city is decimated without you lifting a finger?
If I join the battle I still get the candy, right?
Can we set a fire trap were our men are fighting?
So that after waiting a few minutes to let our peasants suffer the wrath of zombies we can run while setting the place alight leaving both the zombies and peasants to suffer fiery agony?
Maybe an ice trap, it will slow the undead and your peasants won’t have to burn to death (geez I’m not a monster)
face palm
There should be a nice full day for the enemies to get to the city. I think how I’m gonna break down (siege, battle, events) is by hours. Each specific action takes a set amount of time until you run out. Mmm yup that sounds good.
So cha back to it. You can set a fire trap… (oil… torch)
@SheaMcD Fraid your city doesn’t have magic at their disposal
Consider the only magic left is the ancient magic long lost to this world. Would be lovely to be able to slow em down and decimate em, but sadly…
Oye and faewk, forgot to mention, if most of your citizens die… who’s going to pay tax?
Okay fire trap it is and if the city dies make the necromancer reanimate them to pay tax ( heh heh, that’ll show them for being dead just to get out of tax paying)
Good point.
Maybe I should keep some of the peasants there and switch it out with some of the extorting soldiers and such.
Get a good balance of corrupt soldier and impoverished peasants.
Then for the peasants that survive.
Raise taxes!
To the point where they have to hang on for survival and are too weak to fight me!
(But strong enough to keep working for me)
Maybe I can also use some dark magics for mind control.
I also need to have whisper set up some secret shadow police.
(Also some of all those taxes will go to keeping the military well fed. If you want to eat well join the military!)
That should help deal with conscription problems
Oh? What do you intend for this shadow/secret police to do? It would be an interesting thing to offer your city.
@SheaMcD That moment you just want to shake your head
lol that actually isn’t such a bad idea on the upside, course cant sat slow moving, decaying, gross bodies moving around my city gives a good view or good for productivity, but cha, at least the coffers are safe
@faewkless Ah yes! There was something about conscription and troop bulking that was being worked on wasn’t there. Join the military = eat well = tyrants running the show.
Plus I won’t have to feed them
The shadow police.
Jobs.
Destroy all (unwanted) rebellions before they start.
Kill all (unsanctioned) criminal bosses
Find dirt on inquisitors.
Find dirt on other nobles.
Kill any nobles that are a threat to me that I can’t bribe or threaten(Same with inquisitors)
Find any items of mystic might.
(The requirement to being a sanctioned criminal boss is to give my a cut of all money and to offer up the services of your men in times of war)
(The requirement for a rebellion to be wanted is that it’s weak enough that I can crush it quickly constantly making peasants to scared to rise up)
@faewkless that’s alot of work… If the average commoner needs/spends about 20 crowns a day to survive. How much are you paying your secret police I wonder.
Partially from those high taxes.
Most of it is by setting up criminal organizations in other holds and getting some of the cut from those.
So criminal enterprises.(Basically attempting to cripple the holds of others from inside out)
(I also have to indoctrinate them to me and make them deathly loyal to me)
Same with my highest officers.
(Also they should be paid by rank. Whisper of course getting the most)
@faewkless I see. Yes I think I can squeeze something like that in. Your espionage adviser is really stealing the show, there won’t be any need to involve yourself with your other advisers if this keeps up
In the middle of playing through the game before launching another update. I see at last the issue with the opposite tyranny and compassion stats and the likes, how strange it’s there when it shouldn’t be, but I know how to fix it…
In game stats have been inverted, gonna need a few people to run tests on the game and see if there stats are properly changing.
Criminal is another word for sacrificial military trap in my kingdom.
The inquisition replaced my beautiful assassin…
Same reaction though.
I suppose the next thing that should be focused on is stability. If I’m not mistaken, everything is in the unstable zone. So then! I think it’s time to implement that prisoner discussion everyone had earlier and what to do with them.
I think they will make fine test subjects to be “re-educated”(indoctrinated and brain washed) to serve as the starting force in the shadow police.
Harsh. Does this includes petty crimes? Or only the hardcore felons? Is everyone subject to this “re-education” and how do you expect your citizens to respond to this secret police, not to mention that they are criminals.
I feel like the depends on the petty crime.
Brawling no.
Stealing yes.
And definitely hardcore felons.
and their reaction?
They may not like it.
But then again they don’t like taxes.
Doesn’t mean we don’t need them.
Wait if theyre secret police wouldn’t they, you know be secret
