You really don’t need lobbying. I had 63 percent approval, 66 percent Charisma, and deftly resolved the oil crisis.
Speaking of, @Leonas_Random how did you deal with the oil crisis and Berkowitz? And are you on the Unity route or Party route?

Sup so uh what did i miss. I was busy with final exams i only just finished 3 days ago so didn’t have much time to post so if anyone can give a explanation to what happened while i was it be much appreciated:D
On 12/25 there was an update to the public demo (which now contains the prologue, Chapter 1, and Chapter 2). Try it out! I feel like you will enjoy it.
Thanks mate for the explanation I’ll try it out
It seems like when you choose education as your primary initiative and the 3 proposals get presented to you the moderate bill is about unemployment instead of education.
can we have the option to add India into the alliance as china natural geopolitics rival into the alliance later in the game to strengthen the alliance to better counter china. NATO also expended from UK France and United States to add more members to the growing tension in the Cold War it help deter war as both side know that war will be impossible to win both in nuclear and convention warfare. MC can have the option to add India and vitanam to the alliance to better keep china in check of its growing aggressive in the second term
And really great work more realistic then sense less drama
I really liked the way you can deal with the Saudi Oil embargo by threatening to cause a international boycott. Feels good to be in the giving end for once to be honest. Hopefully there will be more chances to paint it black in the future, show some US muscle know what I mean?
And in the process of showing off American muscle, would it also mean reaffirming the Monroe Doctrine on the mainland?
Happy new years ladies and gentlemen we are officially in 2023 boìs if you have any comments say em
Yeah it’s totally not. I had really damn good approval (mid-upper 60s) and some charisma (about 60), and I got the most extreme Climate Change shit by with 1 VP vote, but still it went through and without spending a cent. Also the other thing I passed, don’t remember which of my things it was, went through just barely, but still passed. Honestly really happy that other’s experience may be different, makes me feel like I did a really good job of it all and it wasn’t just video games shit that let it work. Even better since I was playing myself (as much as I can play an AnCom president).
Now that I think of it, I did a shockingly good job for not compromising at all to Republicans or corporations, like I just brute-forced everything with the Democrats.
As a non-American this is a very fun little insight into US politics! The freedom of which party to choose and what sort of President you wish to be is very fun! Really excited to see more of this!
I’m curious as to if the working class background impacts anything? It seems the upper one gives you money and I’m wondering if the working one would give you any sort of advantage with those with similar backgrounds or with the public?
A middle-class background gives you more money than the poor one but a poor background gives 5% more in the approval rating stat from what I’m seeing and I haven’t used the upper-class background yet so I’m not sure what the stat changes are for that besides more money and I guess maybe political connections?
Approval is how the general public sees you. Charisma is the effectiveness of your speeches/how personally compelling you are. The specific party/media approvals are semi-unrelated to these two values (in that they are different stats but often times choices that affect the party/media/business approvals affect your public approval and charisma).
Is it planned for the future to have some personal scandals like cheating, divorce or our kid turning gay?
PC themselves can be openly gay and married to a same-sex partner, so one of our kids being gay is a: random chance (just like in real life) and b: not nearly as scandalous as you think in TPHverse.
As for divorce and cheating? Yes. Play the demo for the latter in particular.
Republican and gay and quite openly so and married no less.
So in the new demo the mc is the 50th president, if we assume everything up to and including number 46, Biden, happened as in our world then Biden will be followed by an unknown number 47 for 4-8 years, (likely 8, and likely to be a democrat given Reynolds) followed by Reynolds, likely 8 years (likely Republican and tough on crime considering he resumes federal executions) then Hoffman, D or R, depending on player choice for 4 years and then the mc.
The only thing I don’t really get is why a Democratic Hoffman didn’t re-instate a moratorium on federal executions himself and leaves that up to my progressive conservative mc?
Also one of the predecessors was probably the first openly gay (or lesbian) president as not much hay is made of the mc being gay or not, while firsts usually get more attention, though the mc can be the first sitting mayor elected to the presidency and that does get some attention.
They can also be bi, much greater chance of that actually. Though the opportunities for first kids to date seems a bit limited given all the security measures though horny teenagers will probably always find a way anyway.
Hey just to make sure if you passed the bill in favor of the replubican proposal was the intended affect that the democrats relationship to go up?
Which bill is this?
@idonotlikeusernames As for Hoffman, I chalked it up to him being out of step with the party platform regarding the death penalty (if he’s a Democrat. If he’s a Republican he’s in line with the party platform). It could be a bug though.
That could certainly be true, my own mc as a progressive conservative is probably also noticeably milder than a good chunk of his own party on the death penalty and much more of a maverick to re-impose a moratorium. He might actually, depending on the national mood on crime by his second term, attempt to abolish the peace-time federal death penalty altogether leaving only treason during wartime, if and when congress actually declares it as a death penalty offense.
The bill regarding the border control act or something like that, when you go for the extreme republican one it raises democrats relations, when you go for the extreme democrar one it raises republican relations. Don’t know if thats a bug or just something added in the game.
