The Oval Office : READ LAST POST

There’s the worry of impeachment if the people or Congress calls for it. So yeah looks like you’ll need to make friends in high places if you want you’re plans to work.

Ironically more troubling for a Democratic president who’d have to face their own party and the Repubs or the second independent president since Washington, who’d have to face down both parties (and get his own one going).
Trump has shown that Presidential conduct really doesn’t matter to the Repubs if one of their own is in office, even if the guy in office strictly speaking ain’t even one of their own.

That going to be a challenge at most mainly since you’ll have to win the people support since it is a democracy and its not like the people will accept a change of government that quickly, let alone there a system if checks and balances that limit even the president’s power.

@Spyder hay man i was wondering if you are going to include the Green Party or libertarian party give the fact that they are the second most popular political party’s and it would be a good way to include libertarian/progressive philosophies or if go if you want to go to the extreme ends of the political spectrum there is the Constitution Party on the far right and the Communist Party USA on the far left maybe far left/far right political party’s have special challenges and benefits?

Hay man.

Yeah, I was just writing more of the prologue earlier today and was going over the section that determined your political party and finished writing the base values of the Democratic Party and the Republican Party and felt a little stuck doing the valuez of the Independent Party cause, well… No offense to supporters, they kinda are fence sitters when it comes to various issues. I did make it easier to pass laws as doing so would be bipartisan but unfortunately made you a target because of the absence of concrete ideals.

I was debating whether or not to involve “lesser” known 3rd parties such as the Libertarian and Green Parties and am 99 percent sure I will incorporate it some way even though its hard enough to be an Independent.

I might put up a poll however (yay democracy!) and we’ll see. I apologize, but if there is an overwhelming disagreement for even more 3rd parties, I’ll have to scrap it.

Who knows? I might even scrap the whole “Independent Party” plan and just replace that with both the Green Party and Libertarian.

Thanks for your input! I need more people like you around here to help with suggestions and the such. Many thanks!

that is a good idea independent politicians rarely rise to the national level at least here in USA can’t say for Europe though [quote=“Spyder, post:142, topic:23325”]

Macron just “won” in France, though it remains to be seen how much of the legislature his new party/movement is going to capture and of course he seems to be tacking disturbingly to the right and trying to make France into a piss on the poor (“trickle down”), casino economy for the super-wealthy. :unamused:
On the French left another independent/movement candidate, Jean Luc Melenchon stole the French Socialist’s party’s thunder and in the UK Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn might as well be classed an independent politician for all the obstruction and outright sabotage/mutiny he’s facing from his party’s right-wing “moderate” establishment.
Most recently he seemed to be succeeding in-spite of the odds, until the recent, tragic Manchester attacks.

Maybe Cata has some stories about Canadian independents.

I’m beginning the think that on the purely personal level Bill Weld may have been preferable to all the mayor parties candidates last cycle, if only he wasn’t attached to Johnson and that despite my not agreeing with most US Libertarian policy positions on any given topic.

say what you will about Hillary Clinton god knows i have but at the end of the day Hillary Clinton was the best policy wise
at lest in terms of being a true liberal Gary Johnson was a complete idiot and Jill stein had no chance to become president despite the fact that she was pretty much right on every issue as for Bill Weld i never got the impression that he wanted the job in the first place [quote=“idonotlikeusernames, post:145, topic:23325”]
