NARUTOOOOO aaaaah my childhood! I honestly hadn’t thought of it before you mentioned it, but it does remind me of Naruto a little bit :fearful: Could it be my childhood coming back to haunt me?

On the interactions with Dem, I suppose you’re right. I playtested that part again and it does seem a bit short, though I’m not sure how to improve on that  thanks for the observation! The Thief and the Princess, on the other hand, come a bit later and you’ll have a bit more interaction with them. You’ll meet a fixed RO before them. The Princess comes last, actually.

Regarding the morality of the PC, I planned to open up an evil path later on in the game, and have it as a different story that the PC tells the children, though I’m not sure how that’s supposed to play out. The children are vital as of the moment, because they’re the only sort of opening that I can think of  However, even though the Seers treat the PC like a piece of shit, it doesn’t mean the rest of the world will. The PC is supposed to develop a liking for the rest of the world, and will likely not go back to the Seers in the end, though the option will be offered.

This is very understated - over time, you will look back on this and it will bring a smile.

A princess. - box checked.
A romantic - box checked.
A girl who fights for her love - box checked there too

Is there any boxes left unchecked with this RO for you?

I know…

A city girl - box checked.

:innocent:

:princess:

Edit - I ran out of hearts to give for today - so just imagine me spamming hearts like normal

Whelp, I think I know which RO I’m going for. I’m a sucker for men who are good with kids.

With many of the gender pronoun issues being fixed, I can’t really give any constructive criticism. But, so far this is quite a lovely story! I especially love the way you introduce (or set) the genders of the thief, the heir, and the guard.

I’m definitely going to have to follow this one.

Hey there! Good work, and obviously alot of detail has gone into this.
One thing I noticed, and I’m not sure if it’s intentional on your part - the tone is very informal, almost conversational.
Also, I’m wondering who your favourite writers are: who do you look to for inspiration? If I didn’t know any better, I’d sense a bit of a manga influence going on in your writing.

Aaah, thank you so much! I’m glad you like the story. Hopefully I’ll have more content out for you soon!

I can’t wait! Well, okay, I guess I can.

In the meantime, I will proceed to play the demo at least ten more times and dream of what is to come.

First and foremost, thank you for the compliment! I’ve actually had this story in my head for a while (a year?), but I’ve only started working on it last month or so. There’s a lot of details that have yet to be introduced, and I’m looking forward to showing them.

The tone is meant to be conversational, actually
In my experience, I usually enjoy games more when the tone isn’t too serious, so I’ve tried to incorporate that into my own writing. I want MM to be fun to read, and I feel like pairing this kind of universe with a very formal sort of writing will be a bit harder to understand than if the tone is light. Also, I do believe that I’m better at this style than other, more serious styles of writing.

My favorite authors, hmm. My absolute favorite would have to be Cassandra Clare; I adore her writing and her Mortal Instruments series is my favorite! Though there are also a few other authors I look up to, like Rick Riordan and Sage Blackwood. I love Riordan’s books, but I have only read one book of Blackwood’s (I can’t find any more of the series in any local bookstore, it’s very sad for me). I also liked Neil Gaiman’s Graveyard Book, and John Green and David Levithan’s Will Grayson, Will Grayson. I generally enjoy fantasy books, and I don’t usually pick up books with modern settings unless the summary catches my eye. About the manga influence, I actually enjoyed them quite a lot when I was younger, so that’s probably where it’s coming from

I don’t suppose there’s a harem ending planned? :smirk: If not, can I at least get the un-romanced guys to end up together? (Prince + Thief is such a wonderful pairing.)

Unfortunately, there isn’t a harem ending due to relationship stats issues. On playing matchmaker, my friend and I were actually joking about that a few days before I posted the playtest. I’m not sure how to implement that, though I do think it’d be fun to try! Pairing the Thief off with someone also actually ties into his little predicament that I mentioned earlier, which is a great coincidence. I’ll see what I can do

Well if we’re mentioning things we hope to see then will I get to marry my RO?

That all depends on who you’re romancing

The sarcasm is strong with you :stuck_out_tongue: I can’t help it if I have a type, besides I would make an excellent Princess Consort :grinning:

I agree - you are Royalty incarnate  :heart_decoration: (no sarcasm)

I too love the royal paths - but my MC wants to be the Seer-Empress not the Consort.
