Lol I was five minutes seeing the open hand icon figuring if it was a insult or something … Really discord should change icons.
As you have summoned me means that you have been warned of nature of my feedback and still wanted it. So please angry fans don’t send me pm saying me that i àm a cancerous something.
I haven’t read your game for real I read when it appeared the first post and like you post a big No in my list I doesn’t read it.
You gender locked a game without a theoretical meaningful reason so I didn’t even read the game demo. Because i thought your game wasn’t for me.
You go with the Spanish traditional ruling titles or the aganatic cognatic. The player could have been a girl still game is genderlocked because army. As Spanish lol our queens have been in most battles than our kings. So I found it weird .
I play genderlocked games when I felt has sense. In case of a heir of a empire in my head it doesn’t more if is agnatic cognatic.
But like you were so brave to be first author to send me the hand icon I will read the game and give you my points . Except the gender locked it seems to have a deep lore still I understand if you don’t want hear the opinion as I will be sincere

There’s a error in the stats line 15. The start of your game is confusing as hell. Two lines no explanation a choice that seems to be really important Without no odea who I am where am I and who are those men. I am a general? another soldier a god a dog … ? No single exposition or anything two lines that doesn’t say anything with a choice that have absolutely no context.
The principle of a game or a novel has to explain by itself and let clear at least what you are where and the danger.
Your first page what most casuals will see first of your game due most don’t bother read the thread Will be It is cold your army is and choices that has no absolutely input in the meaning An intro is called intro because introducing something … You aren’t introducing you are giving all context for granted
@Eiwynn is going to kill me. I am supposed to be learning being more polite and this sounds like demolish your work… But no idea how say that politely

In theory, the system of succession is gender-equal(at least for the Empire itself). In theory. In practice, several civil wars have been caused by a woman as heir,(If I am not mistaken, several Spanish civil wars have also been caused by a woman as heir) the most notable being the Great War(which the female heir(the current Empress) won at great cost(a quarter of the realm population died). So that’s another reason why it’s genderlocked.
You are right, I’ll add in some context.

The stats error should be fixed now as well.

I have to be a male or be a male it has several queens that have reign with male titles and male attire . Or maybe you have been assigned as male to avoiding another war … Even if you want to maintain the gender locked you can add characters that doubt of it and certain paranoia typical of empires
Context is here. @poison_mara Anything else you want me to add?
I play games in several sessions even if are short. Tomorrow I will replay and give a sense of flow and stats so far. my first post is always my first-ever impression for game with raw feelings.
Will there l be conquences if you openly disapprove of the Empresses plan.
Which part? The strategic parts of it you can openly disapprove of without repercussions (Like Earl Alaric did), but the ethical part, there will be consequences.(One of them being that the Empress’ opinion of you drops heavily, and that opinion will be very useful later on in the Imperial Court)
Demo will not allow me to progress past the first page of backstory, or when I select skip backstory.
@KuriosIasoun
So chief your telling me that I can be in charge of a Noble house.
AND HAVE GUNS!?
Peaseant killing ereticion intensifies
I think this, in theory, should be the game for me
Oooooh god yes we can start off with a bunch of automatic weaponry oooooh yes papa
But just from what I saw immediately with how our MC looked at his food, I can tell I’ll have fun with him.
Since he is an asshole, the only proper autocrat!
We will go far together at least with peaseant butchering

What are the ages of the characters and who are the marriage options?
You excel at academic pursuits, logistics, strategy, and battle tactics.
You have a basic grasp of small group tactics, hand to hand combat, and marksmanship.
So both academics and soldiering give you knowledge about tactics?
… the man who taught you battle tactics, military history, and logistics, Earl Andrew of Eastfort, proclaimed you to be the finest student he had ever taught at the end of your training… The man speaking was Earl Alaric, Lord Marshal of the Imperial Army. He taught you battle tactics, military history, logistics, and strategy when you were a boy…
How many tutors in logistics and strategy did the MC have? Would both of them be developed characters?
It shows, this jumped from small skirmish to “let’s brutally re-conquer our former colony with large army” really fast.
I think the MC needs more characterization, so readers could put themselves in protagonist shoes. Potential readers aren’t heirs to an opressive empire, but most of them probably were in a situations like “I need to prove myself before adults”, “I need to use my knowledge in practice for the first time” or “this sutuation is difficult and I am nervous”.
You eat your breakfast.
- You stab a sausage with your fork as brutally as you would stab an enemy with your sword. Finally, some real battle.

- These simple eggs with bacon remind you of your simple subjects, who you must protect from these invaders.

- You are too nervous to eat, but your subordinates shouldn’t know that.

- Eww, peasant food. You miss feasts in the Imperial Palace already.

That’s a typo, it was Earl Alaric.
Barrell’s 50, Earl Alaric is 60, the Empress is 90.
Small group tactics. Academics is for larger forces (if you’re leading a hundred men, soldiering’s what you want, if you are leading ten thousand, academics.)
That’s not so much snobbiness as it is that what the freeholder’s serving is absolutely disgusting for a noble who’s been raised on the best of food, cooked by the finest chefs.
Although I will add similar options in.
I still need to figure them out, but it’s worth noting that an RO isn’t necessarily marriageable, in a society where arranged marriages are still commonplace.

I don’t want be harsh, but I know it will sound like that sorry.
First absolutely all your stats are opposed That alone make all role playing impossible as will vause my character personality skills and everything will jump from one scale causing situations as in same scene text say I am a cruel monster and a charitable guy in two paragraph due a role-player choose in base what character will do so that many times lead to not super e numbers so in a skill check could be a ànd in next be all contrary.
The text flow is rushed and something is making me portrait mycharacter as a spoiled brat. I really think the chapter needs more personality introduction or something due the intro makes me think i am Asshole default noble… and is okay. But if is not the option i want to play it reduces my immersion. Still lore is great i will read this only for that. However I really believe I am not your targeted audience. As i am not male I am not interested in wars at all and have zero idea of war fare. And is okay everyone has preferences and public objective.
Good point, I think that needs changing (it was really just in there as a placeholder)
What about intrigue? A good portion of the game will be intrigue.
I’ve changed some of the stats to percentages instead of opposed pairs.
