Lmao, good luck finding him.

I mean dude would obviously be in Grafast licking his wounds. And would probably be getting ready for round 2. Although it would be kinda cool if in round 2 Chiram dad would also come with Ashen because mc killed his competent heir and favorable son and he wants to have revenge.

Yep. No clue who all these yokels are.

Saw the posts, didnt read update yet.

Granted, if I didnt want spoiled, Id wait until release anyway.

I’ve got to this game after long delay, and I was really impressed how the story and interactions play themselves.

If I may add, it feels a bit strange that you can declare your intent to make Arael an Empress without talking this with her in private (especially if you romance her). This is really a big step for her, and it isn’t really clear what she thinks about such a perspective just by her description of what her mother tried to achieve before.

Yeah, I meant it to be a bit of an impulsive decision on the MC’s part. They’ve never been in a relationship before, or even had many interactions with people before leaving the capital. I feel like having no one to talk to except someone as brash and impulsive as Azgor would naturally rub off on them a little.

Arael herself hasn’t really had time to process what it all means yet, and the city hadn’t even been taken at that point, everything could still go wrong, so she just pushed it aside for later.

In Chapter 3, there will definitely be more discussion about it.

Oh also, please remember to mark contents of a recent update as spoilers people. You can do it like this:

Four black horns jutted from the back of your skull, curving straight back, two large ones, with two smaller ones nestled just beneath them.

That part sounds weird. Is it supposed to be jutted from the front?

Excellent wip. Many Wip’s about dragons are the same old story, but from the first reading I can tell you are trying, and you succeed, to give depth to your characters, and make -as much as possible- your story looks original. The scene where MC encounters the hunters it gave me goosebumps! Like when the Lion faces the Bear, but you don’t know what is going to happen!

Keep up the great work!

When I first wrote it, I imagined it coming from the back. But now after reading your comment I started doodling it a bit in Paint to test it out, I realized it might actually make more sense on the top or side of the skull. I think I just pictured the horns curving backward and went, “yep, back of the skull it is” lol.

This is more or less how I imagined it, maybe a bit smaller or slightly different shape of horns, but something like this (ignore the atrocious Paint skills lol, I’m using a mouse and I can’t draw)

Thank you! I know it’s a kind of saturated genre, the standard medieval fantasy with dragons and all, but I can’t help it, I love this kind of setting. But I did what I could to put my own spin on it. I’m really glad you’re enjoying it!

Since I don’t like horns I skimmed over that and just pictured them shorter because the would make sleeping hard and tear up the pillows, sheets, bed, and make it hard to put on shirts. So I headcannon that they are short in casual settings and during battle or a show of dominance they can grow at will.

Battle mode

Casual mode

this one is my favorite

Warden can grow a fully functioning tail so I figure shortening and lengthening horns by a few inches shouldn’t be a problem.

Yeah, that works too. The exact length or shape of the horns isn’t really that important, they could very well happen to be shorter on your warden, the main point of them showing up is that permanent changes are starting to happen to the warden’s body if you accepted Azgor’s deal. As they access and adapt to more and more of Azgor’s power, changes need to be made for them to withstand it. Azgor explained a bit on one of the options.

“You expect me to believe you can twist my body into a monster the size of a house, but you can’t get rid of a few horns?”

“Oh, I didn’t say I couldn’t,” Azgor replied, tone almost playful now. “I could remove them. But who knows what might grow then? Wings, a tail, rows of fangs... or something else?”

A short, amused chuckle echoed through your skull.

“And let’s clear something up,” he continued. “These changes didn’t come from the transformation. They came from the changes I made to allow your fragile little body to survive that form, I had to dig a little too deep, make some... structural adjustments. What you're seeing now? Just leftovers.”

So in theory, the horns could be removed, but then another trait of Azgor would likely manifest in a different way. In the future, as they grow more skilled, there could be an option to shift that energy elsewhere if the MC wanted to, like scales along their back that are easier to hide, or a permanently draconic arm for intimidation, something like that.

It’s basically the price that has to be paid to access more of the Black Dragon’s power.

Yea I don’t mind that in the slightest. I do find horns badass I don’t like the constant big long horns because there good on animals/dragons but a hindrance on every day life for the drakorian race ( what my headcannon calls the experiments until the actual name is made). I love the permanent aspects just thought the power to change the size for every day life is good. I also like that the choice to hate them at first is there and I headcannon Arael’s constant subconscious touching my Mc horns and hair ( and Lyra seductively whispering “my king” and “my lord” in his ear) made him think “the horns ain’t so bad after all” with the biggest goofy smile.

Does the warden constantly wear boots? I picture mine wearing sandals, simple shirt and shorts from now on as a form of convenience with the fighting and shifting and a form of freedom from being forced to wear useless armor and boots. Hell the Greek, Egyptian, and Spartan kings rocked the ight clothing so why can’t I? My Mc is the smiling tiger type of ruler. He’s laid-back, friendly, calm, and doesnt mind being diplomatic but he loves to fight more and will personally lay waste to your armies with a big smile on his if you try to fight him

Basically kenpachi style

Oh, I like the name Drakorian. I’m not sure yet if there will be an route where they’re recognized as a different race, but if there is, I might include that as one of the options.

I usually imagined the warden wearing boots, mostly for convenience, since that’s what the rest of the soldiers use. That way, if anything gets damaged, it’s easy to replace. Same goes for clothing, I pictured them in simple outfits similar to what the soldiers wear for now, just without armor, plus a traveling coat for the desert.

That said, there’s no reason they couldn’t wear sandals. I’m sure there were some among the equipment they carried that the Warden could use.

By Chapter 3, things will change quite a bit, so I’m thinking of adding a section where everyone can customize how their Warden dresses, both for combat and everyday life in the city.

If that was the cap of the MCs power his cooked especially since all the kingdoms saw how some Island King with blood magic is able to be his equal.

Hey everyone, quick update.

While I was working on the other noble houses after releasing the last update, I ended up having to move away from Inkarnate (the site I used for the first version of the map), since I can’t edit the original map anymore without a subscription. Because of that, I switched to Wonderdraft.

It’s definitely way more limited in terms of assets compared to Inkarnate and a bit harder to use, but at least it’s a one-time purchase, which is much better for something like this in my opinion.

So over the past few days I’ve been testing things out, figuring out what works in Wonderdraft, what doesn’t, and what I can or can’t replicate. This is where I’m at right now:

(if it ends up low quality, I’ll upload it somewhere else and link it here later)

For comparison, here’s the old one:

I’m not sure if it’s just because I was used to the old style, but I do miss Inkarnate’s look a bit, especially for Dragonfell and Lyfadel.

I’ll probably keep experimenting with it for a while, but that’s basically it for now. I just wanted to share something instead of waiting until the whole update is done. At least now I’ll be able to edit it freely going forward lol, at least until I eventually manage to commission a better one. We’ll see.

Also, any advice or suggestions are more than welcome. It’s a lot easier to rework the map now.

Also, I’ve been testing some banners for the noble houses, so we’ll see if I end up making them for everyone in the codex or not.
