NEW DEMO (chapter 1 only)
You are Agent 180, an international man/woman/person of mystery working for a spy agency. Working your first field mission since a personal tragedy occured, you are suddenly reassigned to investigate the suspicious death of a one-time informer. The dead man worked for a secretive biotech company, one who is just about to release a new product. The more you look into the situation, the more it seems that darker forces are working behind the scenes.
I’m happy to get any feedback, but if you can’t think of what to say, could you please answer:
Did anything seem confusing or disjointed at any point? (especially in action scenes)
What did you think of the MC? I’m a fan of choice games where the player character has a bit more personality of their own rather than being a blank slate so I wanted to go with that. It does mean a little bit of railroading, but I like to think of it as sacrificing variety for actual impact - the ‘trauma’ backgrounds especially will have massive plot impact.
OLD DEMO (first 5 chapters)
Are there romances in this game?/Who are the romances?
C’mon, I know you’re thinking it
So, this is planned as the first game in a series. This means that there’s some characters you can fully romance in this game, and some who will be LIs but you only get to make a start on it in this game.
Vicki Valdez (female, pan/bisexual) (this-game romance)
Vicki is a reporter, chasing a story in the same company that you’re investigating. She’s ambitious and determined to get to the truth - but will she be a help or a hinderance to your own investigation?
Gareth Li (male, pan/bi) (this-game)
Gareth works in the company’s PR department and is the press liason for the company’s new launch. He’s cheerful, friendly and deeply devoted to his employer
Hex Hanson (non-binary, pan/bi) (this game)
Hex is a scientist at the company - they’re also the child of the CEO and founder, Hercules Hanson. Hex is a feisty young genius.
Agent 313 (male or female, gay)(slow burn)
313 is an agent from Control Division, whose job is planning, analysis and mission control. In this case, 313 has been assigned as your handler to observe and provide you with support. 313 is brilliant, but his/her sweet nature may put him/her at odds with the Agency’s more dubious work. Still, 313 is definitely not to be underestimated.
Agent 100 (male) (slow burn)
100 is a legend in the Agency - a field agent who’s been on impossible missions and always saved the day. He’s composed, debonair and seemingly unstoppable. Still, he’s not a young man anymore, and a lifetime of peril may have taken its toll.
Well, on the pros side, Angel’s attractive, adventurous and endlessly confident. On the cons side, they’re vicious, manipulative, morally bankrupt, and work for your worst enemy. The MC may like what they see, but appearances are so very deceptive.
What's with the stats?
Since the MC is supposed to be a best-of-the-best super badass, it didn’t quite make sense to have separate stats for skills like weapons, persuasion, stealth, since they should have all of those already. So instead Suave/Ruthless/Technical are more an indicator of your problem-solving style. Think about it like this: you have a locked door in front of you. Suave solution is to find the person with the key and sweet-talk them into opening it. Technical is using some device to unlock the door. Ruthless is kicking the door down.
This game will contain moderate violence of a somewhat stylised/action-movie type, and mild sexual innuendo.
If you pick ‘hand’ as the trauma background, there will be a vaguely-described torture scene and discussion of lingering trauma.
