Thanks! I’ll check on what happened there! I’ll fix the code so that it doesn’t keep doing that, and I’ll see aboit adding save slots.
OK! This update adds about 3500 words, so you can now choose to avoid the city gates with Alexis, and some small tweaks to the scenes following the city gates as well. The next update will be filling in the missing scenes and adding the final scene of the chapter for Alexis and Art’s route so that I can move on to writing Bea and Art’s route.
Additionally, I think I managed to fix the code for the line @Sel_Lee pointed out. And added the save slots that @ZaWorst requested. To be honest, I have had trouble with adding saves in the past and was kind of surprised that it worked this time.
Also, polls!

Um who exactly are isobel and tristan?
I’m reading this story again after a long break away and once again I am in tears and bloody cackling at this blasé insult:
“Are you allowed to spend so much?” you ask carelessly, still examining the books nearest you. “My friend Luuk said religious folk were supposed to live in poverty.”
I cannot with this child. And the poor dad who has to try and play it off is too real, hahaha.
Alexis’ sister and her goblin-cat-thing. Looking back through the scenes, I am now noticing that most of her parts are either very small or easy-to-skip. I think I’m going to revise some of her scenes so that she doesn’t slip under the radar so much. I never initially planned for her or Tristan to be around as long as they have. They really weren’t supposed to continue past the attack on the palace–Isolde was supposed to be put on a bus, but I like her too much lol. I also have a bad habit of neglecting characters when I have more than two or three in the same scene, something I’m working on.
Your comment made my day
But yes, you get it! I have been the child, the insulted, and the adult desperately trying to save face, so I was cackling as I wrote it.
Hi!
No update ready yet, but I hope to have it finished by the end of June/early July, depending on how much time I get between my other obligations. The new update will include ~17.4k words across the entire story, including ~8.5k of chapter four, which will let yall see what Bea and Isolde are getting up to while you and Alexis were in the city. It also includes the first introduction of actual combat in the game, so I look forward to hearing feedback on that.
So far, what I have left to do is
- write about 6k words
- make sure it passes quicktest and randomtest
- playtest and check for spelling/grammar
