~Sherlock’s bitching about the lack of good crime~
I love it that we can get something so similar in the game. I didn’t even remember that fragment

I’m glad you like it!
First and foremost, for me, the books were the main inspiration. Not the most firmly exact or the only inspiration, but the very main. I do like to imagine all the potential adaptations or inspired characters I’ve seen as versions of playable MCs, and so I try to allow that sort of thing too. But a lot of the traits that are always in the MC, come from the books ![]()
Like the one you sent here, where MC has a habit of wishing for more/“better” crime simply to solve it. I think even the sweetest of Sherlock MCs have had the odd thought like that, even if they later wish they didn’t…
I also think its a very compelling thought. Because… What if the creator of a crime thought a very similair thing? What if they knew we felt that way?
Or what could someone do, if taking this thought further?
Hello. I HC my Sherlock demisexual but I don’t know what to select in “Preference of Gender” during character creation that would reflect that.
Unless I misunderstood, and it’s really just meant to define the genre of ROs and nothing else?
If that’s the case, then I guess—since I know I’m only going to romance Watson, and if the option to set your sexual orientation comes later in the game—it doesn’t really matter what gender the other ROs are. ![]()
Hi! The choice at the start of the game determines whether each RO is a man or woman. If you’re only interested in Watson, then you can choose whatever gender you want for the characters.
Though I would suggest checking out Lestrade’s romance as well, if you want to go for a demisexual/friends-to-lovers type romance. It’s more complicated than the Watson path, but I would say it scratches the same itch if you pick the friend options in the first few chapters.
When will we get paintings of the Female ROs ![]()
This just set the genders of the ROs, yes! ![]()
Doesn’t even lock anything out tbh. Tho it does affect some minor npcs genders too.
The game is very coloured by its romance content, which is why I recommend setting the ROs to ones preferences or it might feel… off?
Tbh I haven’t painted all that much in… years. I think maybe as writing took up my main creative energy I felt less of a need of it?
The portraits were just a fun little thing I did for a friend way back when, and were never meant to be anything big or canon. Once I posted the demo, the pressures of getting it “right” while painting kinda took the fun of it. I started on Grace, and Jane, but never liked them enough to post here. Maybe I should remove the guys from on here tbh ![]()
But! Arrapso, a great artist has painted some great versions of the women as they imagine them (only Jane missing)—

They’re amazing!
(Oh, and some of the art, like the Helena portrait with the backlit stuff, exist as a full pic on the discord! They’re pinned in H’s room.)
