This is a rather bizarre issue I’m having, so I’m hoping somebody on the forums may have had a similar problem in the past because I’m stumped.
For my story The People’s House, I’ve been having an ongoing issue where one specific set of variables (specifically the ones that specify your political party) just doesn’t appear in the text for a point in time.
Seemingly randomly around Chapter 4 (near the end of the story), these variables are displayed as blank. Then, they reappear late into Chapter 5 and in the epilogues. The variables aren’t changed at all after they’re set in the prologue, and I have absolutely no clue why this could be happening. The story fully passes quicktest and randomtest without issue.
I write using CSIDE and have demos uploaded through DashingDon.

Are you absolutely sure you’re not typo’ing them in chapter 4? (I mean, that they are the same variables?)
(I recall checking your code at some point and noticing you left some of the variables blank depending on the choices when setting them, dunno if you’ve fixed that.)

Unless I’ve lost it (which is completely possible) they’re written the exact same throughout. I did fix a bug a while ago where picking a certain region (I think the Pacific West) left them blank, but even after fixing this the problem still persists.
I recall every option left some blank (you may wish to take another look, unless you changed your variables), but fair. I’ll take a look when I have some time.
Is there a specific location where they appear blank, or is it multiple locations in the chapter?

My lovely beta testers @Snowflower and @11110 might have a more precise location, but my understanding is that there are multiple locations in Chapter 4.
I haven’t actually played through my own story in quite some time but am planning on doing a run-through for testing sometime soon and should be able to pinpoint spots where it’s happening then.
Okay, quick check - and depends on whether or not the link in your WIP thread is up to date - there’s only one chapter where the “OppPartyNoun” is used, so I assume that’s the affected chapter. It seems to not be always set, the other ones being “PartyAbbreviation” and “OppPartyAbbreviation”, which appear also in that chapter and… the prologue, I think? But it’s always one or the other that is set, so you can’t catch both bugs at the same time.

The WIP demo is a bit outdated (will be updated in a few weeks when I open the public beta test), but I think this might be the issue! Will take a closer look into it now.
