Team Zero (WIP)

@Dolphinzgirl how old are each of the characters at the past portion of the game? so I can correctly in vision them when I play because I can’t help but feeling at the beginning of the game chronologically I can’t help but see him (player) kind of like a commander Shepard from the start mass effect 1 having one good mission under his belt but still is destined for greater. but by the ten years later mark I see him kind of like a grizzled old war vet in his mid sixties.

My estimate is mid to late twenties at the beginning so obviously mid to late thirties at the end.

@idonotlikeusernames really I always saw at the start that it would be late thirty’s to early forty’s because the rank of commander would be practically impossible to get to with out having at least a rear admiral as a dad/mom

I was thinking I was in my late twenties to start with, maybe early thirties. I am the best of the best after all, the elite, that one exception who was promoted early because I was such an awesome bad-ass normal.

I would be able to budge early thirties to early late thirties because you have to draw the line some where because even the elite of the elite are actually quit rarely officer in actuality they are usually private 1st to master warrent officer

Except when the elite of the elite actually need command authority. Nobody’s going to follow the orders of a private. In SciFi convention the elite are mostly officers a trope probably retained from the “good old days” before WWI when the elite where almost automatically officers because the duty of the common soldier was to be either cannon fodder.

Additionally if our MC trained as an officer in college or graduated one of the dedicated academies then they are not enlisted and begin as an officer at a relatively young age.
Assuming our grade at the start is 0-4 (Lt. Cmdr), then according to law we need to have served approximately seven years to reach that rank due to minimum legal requirements.
Assuming graduation at around 21-22 then that still allows for the MC to be 28 to 29 years old at the beginning of the game.
The typical average would be around 14 prior years of service to reach that rank but as the MC was chosen because they’re far from typical I say we can safely disregard that.
Then there’s also the possibility that the minimum service time required between promotions may well be reduced in the future especially if the armed forces are comparatively larger than they are today.

@idonotlikeusernames hehe I forgot that this was u.s military I’m from Canada we only have one Military school per type for the military we have the Royal Canadian Military College or R.C.M you need at least high ninety’s for them to even look at you straight from high school so if you got below that you’d need eighty’s and at least a bachelor’s for them to consider they are really cut throat up here (north) so that would at least then the officer’s course is 4 to 5 years plus they don’t even take you right away so you might wait a year and not even be started then when all of that is said and done you would start off at lieutenant you would need to take advantage of a conflict to get promoted fast plus in game you only have one real mission under your belt even if your one of those guys who took out Bin Ladin (spelling wrong?) from the deck of card’s did get promoted up like four of five full ranks no maybe you’d get a shiny medal promoted once with a pat on the back and from my perspective it dose not matter due to the American armed forces having more men then our entire population unless your saying that Canada would take one million Immigrants per year and with our two point one child average there’s no way in hell for officer positions to be just handed out like candy for a college degree

@Saint_Nicholas Cinematic is definitely what I’m going for, and it is so cool that you’re already starting to feel attached to the characters, especially since you haven’t even met most of them yet

I’ve never actually seen Suits, but when I looked up Matt Bomer, he actually looks a lot like how I picture Damon. Very slick and corporate looking. Still, the great thing about a text based game is everyone can picture every character as looking however they want.

In terms of the age of the characters, I picture the MC as being in their late twenties. While it generally takes 10 to 12 years to reach O4, the MC received a spot promotion which was later made permanent as a result of their fight with a metahuman. So far as the other characters go, Kat’s the only one who has a specific age in my head (she’s 22), everyone else is just sort of an age range. Alex is in his mid-twenties, Sarah is in her mid to late twenties, Damon is in his late twenties, and Owen and John are in their late twenties/early thirties. So aside, from Kat, everyone else is pushing 40 during the present day sequences.

Matt Bomer is in White Collar, not Suits.

When I think about Damon. I hear Benedict cumberbatch voice, Matt Bomer’s good looks and Bruce Wayne’s mystery

@AgentGuineapig I find comfort in already knowing British jokes.

@jasonstevanhill Thanks for the clarification. The only USA show I watch is Psych, so the others kind of run together for me.

@Chriswa27 I love that description! I swear Damon is becoming even sexier than he was when I began writing him.

@Dolphinzgirl before you know it were gonna have a fan girl horde over Damon XD

All the games have fan girls… it is our solemn duty to make it so.

Yay i love Psych
Noooo its a double post let me use void to delete it

@trollhunterthethird I can’t decide if Damon would be thrilled or horrified to have a horde of fan girls. He’d probably think they made for good minions.

@Scrivener Considering how much fan girling I do, it’s probably only fair that I give back to the fan girl community

@P0RT3R Psych is awesome. Gus is probably one of my favorite characters ever. My friend named her cat after him.

I love pysch!!!<3 it like the only crime show that feels like a comedy! :3

I love Psych too. Unfortunately I found it was getting a bit samey, it likely didn’t help that I just watched the seasons in one huge gulp. I think I only watched as far as the start of Season 3. I can’t recall rightly. It’s one of the few US shows I really like.

Gus is great.

I think my favourite part of Psych is the adverts for it though.

Haha, Psych. “This is Gus, my fairy”
