Team Zero (WIP)

Maybe, or they just piss her off and she don’t know better. Did they teach social structure in the academy? I don’t think so

maybe during this your partner would comment on your appearnce. Handsome devil: Your good looks lasted through my SEAL training and I pride my appearnce. Normal: you dont pay much attention to your looks as others, you’re to busy saving America and getting meta humans to work together. Ugly: who gives a flying #%£* about looks?

Will there be a personality stat? Like do people follow you instinctively or question your orders.

Ive no right to tell you what to write, but I feel so issues arise when the story is looking back on things. There will be places you can die or fail or it wouldn’t be fun. Then you think, “but I’m just talking about all this 10 years in the future!”

Oh yeah and the academy would rather focus on the ability rather than teach them to interact with other people, good point.

For the last three recruitment missions, you have the option of going solo or bringing one of two people with you. My original plan was to let you bring whoever you wanted, but then I realized all the possibilities would make my head explode, so I cut it back. So Kat or Damon can accompany you on Sarah’s mission, Alex or Owen can accompany you on John’s mission, and John or Sarah can accompany you on Owen’s mission.

@Scrivener That is an option, and you have the option to be vocally horrified about the situation, much to Damon’s amusement.

@idonotlikeusernames Damon is a pretty classy date. Plus, you can bring Kat, go solo, or go all James Bond and try to pick up someone when you’re there

@Aera Kat will have absolutely no problems jetting off to Paris with a dashing Commander. Although, you can also bring Damon with you and play it as dude-bonding time. Damon is an excellent wingman.

@God_of_Demonz Yeah, Kat doesn’t really get normal people social customs, and your looks will certainly be commented on.

There’s no personality stat per se. The respect stat is what determines whether an individual character follows your orders.

You can certainly fail pretty spectacularly once you actually start into the real missions. While neither the MC or the party members die during your adventure, you can still get a lot of other people killed and cause some serious emotional damage to your party members. For example, depending on your actions during the storyline, present day Kat can end up a horrifically broken person.

When we see Sarah and Damon they’re fine. So I know that I don’t have to worry about them

"At the gala if your MC is male and your date is Damon would that be weird? "

Why would it be?
Don’t ask don’t tell has been repealed in this universe as well hasn’t it?

well @idonotlikeusernames i was just curious to what other people would think about if your MC is male and your date is Damon, to me it’s no big deal at all but i just wanted another point of view since i feel i was being bias that i feel okay with it.

I suspect while they may be physically well, mentally may be another matter. If your actions have resulted in deaths and the like, they’ll be carrying a great weight on their shoulders, and it’s clear that Alex’s death has taken its toll on the both of them. If you’ve done some unforgivable things, I think that would have an impact too. There’s plenty of variation even in the being alive.

The idea of Damon as a wing man does amuse me. I’ll note no one brought up if you’re female and your date is Kat.

@Dolphinzgirl great game, is the little boy Tim going to play any sort of roll past the academy? becasue he seems like he would be a powerful enemy/ally in a decade or so… again I have to say great game

@FairyGodFeather I would actually like to be a sort of big sister to Kat, if I were to invite her I wouldn’t want it to be just restricted to a date - Rather, me teaching her about life and how to act in a party! But a date should be open aswell for those that want it.

Damon seems like a classy person to take on a date, with Alex it would be so much fun!

i think i’ll fit well in team zero because im very dangerous with my void powers but even if i didnt have those im still very dangerous…

I think it’d be good if you could *fail* a recruitment and have Damon or one of the others if you managed to recruit them have to take over from you to recruit them.

For example if you fail to recruit Sarah, Damon gets her to join by promising to wipe her records or something like that.

@God_of_Demonz That depends on how you define “fine.”

@FairyGodfeather You’ve pretty much hit the nail on the head. You’re actions shape who these people are in the present day, for good or ill. Depending on what decisions you make, you can end up with fairly different characters sitting around the dinner table in the present day. For example, a Kat who hangs out with an ends-justify-the-means Commander isn’t going to the same person as a Kat who hung out Captain America.

@BloodDemon You will see Tim again.

@trollhunterthethird Calling the person you bring with you on Sarah’s mission a “date” is a bit of a misnomer. It’s completely up to the PC how they want to frame it (date, girl’s night out, threw darts, picked the person who seemed most useful in a fight, etc.). Also, while there certainly are opportunities to flirt or be more romantic, I don’t think either Damon or Kat considers it a “true” date, Damon because so far as he’s concerned emotions are things that happen to other people, and Kat because she’s only academically familiar with the concept of dating.

@P0RT3R I think you’re right!

@Nocturnal_Stillness It’s something I’ll certainly think about, although the point of the recruitment missions is less the actual recruiting then it is to introduce background on the characters and set up other choices that matter a lot down the road. For example, the method you use to recruit Kat and how you treat Dr. Hamidi are decisions that can end up having fairly major repercussions.

Oooooooooh. Damon’s one of “those” people. I’ll have fun cracking him.

@Airtamis Yup, Damon believes rather strongly that caring is not an advantage. Although, you can certainly try to get him to make an exception

I’m late on the bandwagon here, but I just want to say I’m impressed with the demo, @Dolphinzgirl. I love the punchy, cinematic flow of the story and I already have some attachment to the characters.
Frankly, the game so far seems like it would make a great film – I personally envision Benedict Cumberbatch for the part of Damon Black. (Which seems to be corroborated by what you said earlier in the thread.)

@Saint_Nicholas really? I always saw Damon as a respectable mixture of Sean Connery as Bond of course and Downey Jr in his role of Iron Man

I’m with BloodDemon. That’s how I pictured him too.

For some reason I’m seeing Damon more as a mirror image of Matt Bomer’s character Neal Caffrey in white collar, Cumberbatch isn’t really my type.

I don’t get the whole Cumberbatch appeal. Yeah, Matt Bomer would fit too for me, I think.

I can’t say I see him playing the part of Damon at all I think i’ll stick with my current version/incarnation thanks
