@God_of_Demonz They’ll be plenty of opportunities for you to play the cold-hearted, ends justify the means type. One of my favorite things in games are well done tough choices, and I really want to try and include that here.
Update News
I have a minor update today. The other path for recruiting Kat is up and ready to go
I’m currently hard at work on Sarah’s recruitment mission (by which I mean I spent the last hour picking out pretty designer dresses for the female MC to wear to the party). Hopefully that update should be done and up by the end of next week!
Yes! Now I can use my ninja skills to break in!

BTW, here’s a tip for you. You don’t need all those *choice’s and *goto’s if all you’re going to do is move on linearly to the very next next *label. You can use *fake_choice’s instead and save yourself the effort of putting in all those *goto’s. You can even print text and set variables in *fake_choice’s just like you can *choice’s, all without having to put in *goto’s.

@P_Tigras Thanks so much for the compliment! I didn’t know you could set variables using fake choices. That was most of the reason I did it the way I did, so that if I decided I wanted it to affect something later, I could just go and slot the variable in. I’ll have to give the other way a try now.

@God_of_Demonz You can’t fail to recruit people. You can recruit them in ways that can have positive or negative consequences down the road, but part of the fun of flashbacks is that the present day scenes show you managed to get everyone on the team. It all comes down to how you do (did) it.
My main guess is you have to pretend to be Damon’s date when you go to the gala. Dear god the horror… THE HORROR!!!
@Scrivener you’re seeing it all wrong. The way my character sees it Damon has to (pretend) to be his date (for the success of the mission, of course), NOT the other way around. Plus he seems to be tall dark and snarky, what could go wrong?
On the other hand if you recruit Kat before Sarah maybe she can be your date instead as she would likely welcome the experience after her sheltered upbringing.
I don’t think Damon’s status is really crucial when you’ve got the backing of the Government too since a fair number of otherwise unremarkable “diplomats” often seem to show up at those sorts of things maybe you can pretend to be a “diplomat” instead.

Being able to bring along Kat would be nice. Just make sure she keeps herself under control and doesn’t tele-smash a drunk diplomat and give you away
At the gala if your MC is male and your date is Damon would that be weird? :-/
I like @idonotlikeusernames formulation that if you recruited Kat she can be your date instead and since my super power is being good looking I don’t think your MC will have problems having a date lol
