Go for the eyes? Has someone been playing, “Don’t Starve”? That’s what the PC says whenever they attack a mob. It’s ridiculous
…It’s from a game called Baldur’s Gate. Kinda old PC RPG (made in 98) that uses 2nd edition DnD rules. There was a character named Minsc, who had an animal companion named Boo, who was a miniature giant space hamster. One of Minsc’s battle cries was ‘Go for the eyes, Boo!’
Hence the various references.
Tali in ME also tells her drone to go for the eyes, what with all the ME references people have made in this thread…
@stsword That was ALSO a reference to Baldur’s Gate, since BG was made by the Bioware team. The name of Tali’s drone was another BG reference.
I loved hearing all of those…
It’s the ultimate crossover reference.
In a mass effect 3 dlc if you get the hamster in the reactor later in the game if you interact with it Shepard will say" go for the eyes"
Update soon??
@potato Aww, thanks. Story drive games are the best!
@JTAL I’m trying not to make the wait too long
@jellisthompson @Wire has the right of it. Poor Alex needs to be sacrificed on the altar of story. Then again, I tend to agree with Umberto Eco, a writing is “a machine for generating interpretations.” So if you come up with a cool “Alex lives” theory, go for it.
@ArchAngel950 If I were going to include pets, that would be how I would do it.
@GrimReaper21 Hopefully there’ll be an update soon. I actually just got back from vacation, so as soon as I finish putting out all the fires that arose during that time I’m going to throw myself back into writing. Plus, I should probably let my vacation high simmer a bit, otherwise the MC’s next adventure will be the time they took a Jungle Cruise to Splash Mountain to investigate a Haunted Mansion
I called Mr.Black for advice. After one sentence, I decided to hang up without even talking.
Keep up the good work
But uh, there’s nothing really there other then gathering people. Am I missing something?
@Dolpinzgirl Come back!!" Life has no meaning without you!!" :’(
The silence has been broken! :-))
This may be one of my top five favorite WIPs on this site. Definitely top ten, at least. Seriously. I, like others, see the obvious stepping stone you take from Watchmen, but you go on to make it something all its own. I can recognize the inspiration for the various characters without them becoming ripoffs. It’s like an homage and love letter to the genre(s), which is often what the best stuff starts out as in the first place. And the interactions you write with everyone are really quite a treat. I genuinely enjoy everybody (well, maybe not John. Still undecided about Damon).
Please write more! =D
Okay well this turned into a ghost town quick , so what’s everyone’s favorite romance option so far? Mine is Owen, I didn’t really like him at first but he started to grow on me after a while. Damon’s okay , but I get tired of his harshness and sarcasm. John really haven’t seen much of him yet but still am curious to see what tall dark and brooding has in store for us.
So…what’s your favorite character?
John!!!
I’ve gotta say Alex, if only because I appreciate his humor.
I’m assuming Shepard’s not an option.
Probably Alex, because he’s probably the closest in the group to being an actual hero. Kat’s a close second, 'cuz she’s adorable.
Owen’s okay, certainly amusing, but strikes me as being a little… disconnected, emotionally. Like he’s a sociopath (and he almost certainly is, given his profession) but isn’t fully aware of it. It’s hard to explain.
I haven’t seen enough of John to render a proper opinion, but… well. We’ll just have to see.
Sarah’s kinda fun, too. Always cool and collected, but not above sarcasm.
Damon’s smugness gets a bit grating at times, but at least he has some cause to think that way. And he’s not a cyclone of narcissism at all times, like one would expect him to be.
But Boo is obviously the best, even if he’s not part of the team yet.
Sarah
