Team Zero (WIP)

Yes please do Alex first:)

Uh… do you intend to keep the list of favorite curricular that way? I have a hard time picturing an active-duty Navy officer doing cheerleader stuff as his pastime (that was a male MC’s dossier)

While what you currently have is enjoyable, I think the dialogue could use a few different comebacks here and there so that the fake choices don’t feel all too fake, if that makes any sense to you. Unless those aren’t really as fake and you’re tracking something else that doesn’t show up on the stat screen.

Also, I vote for Owen. And the kid with ESP skill.

I think we need to see Alex so we know why we are all here for

It looks like Alex is the favorite to introduce first, I hope he lives up to expectations :slight_smile:
Since I think I can knock out his mission pretty quick, is there an additional choice?

@Dark_Bear2899 I’m glad the game hooked you. There’s already games out there that let you play characters on the god-like end of the super power spectrum, so I thought I’d be fun to give people a chance to play a hero on the other side.

@MaddiMastermind I’m glad you like the approach I took. I’m going for a slow reveal/mystery sort of feel.

@FcA That’s supposed to be the joke. The character’s past is going to come up a lot in future conversations, and I’ve already pretty much written the “wait, our baddass, battle-hardened SEAL commander used to be a cheerleader?!” scene. It’s pretty funny, and I think the game needs its moments of levity. As for the dialogue, right now the plan is for a lot of it to come into play later, but if I end up not liking the way that plays out I’ll probably go back and make the scenes more reactive.

This game makes it easy for you to be a total badass.

While traditionally male cheerleaders don’t get a lot of respect, cheerleading is a dangerous and physical activity, and to quote the show Still Standing “Dad, you told me the best thing about playing football was hanging out with the cheerleaders, I just cut out the middle man.”

@Wire I’m glad you like Damon, he’s a really fun character to write. I can see the Miranda Lawson angle, although Damon luckily doesn’t have Miranda’s daddy issues. Also, I like to think ultimate frisbee is still around in the ME universe, if only because I think Grunt would be awesome at it.

@Beezlebub That’s why I don’t have any combat stats per se in the game. You’re a Navy SEAL, so I already know you’re a badass fighting machine. Any failures come because you didn’t think before you acted or you couldn’t get your team to work together, not because the MC physically can’t do something.

@Stsword Damn straight. I had a lot of friends, male and female, who were cheerleaders in high school, and they were all in fantastic shape. Also, the quote made me giggle.

Im just glad the MC don’t have super powers to be special :smiley:

@stsword “male cheerleaders don’t get a lot of respect” maybe, but where i am from male cheerleaders are worshiped same as basketball players being worshiped, also they have added brownie points if they are good looking as they will have zombie fans who support them to death (especially when university cheer competition is going-on) :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow, I literally teared when the demo ended. I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds, and I definitely love the whole “Nick Fury of the group” setup.

As for who I’d like to see first, Alex and Kat would be my top two. And maybe Owen.

So on the male cheerleader path will there be discussion about why the PC chose that in high school?

I mean on one hand perhaps the PC liked both athleticism and performance, or maybe the PC just wanted to hang out with girls in short skirts, either reason says something about the PC’s personality.

Well, I did a bunch of writing today, so hopefully I’ll have an update ready to go by the end of the week :slight_smile:

@Aera I find that most real special people don’t have superpowers, so I think its a fun angle to play.

@starryfleeting I’m glad you like it. Also, Alex and Kat are the two missions I worked on today, so it looks like you’ll get your wish :wink:

@stsword There’s definitely a conversation like that. All of the extracurricular choices are going to lead to fun sort of easter eggy conversations somewhere in the story.

can’t wait for the update. I think people who write cog are special people and keep up the good work

Very nice pacing in the story. I like how you get to see a theit respective personalities, and the reasoning for them in their background. I can’t wait to read more.

@blindman You’re too sweet!

@TheDragon I’m glad you like the slow burn approach to the story. I had a lot of fun coming up with stuff to put in everyone’s dossiers. I hope everyone comes off as well when you finally meet them in person :slight_smile:

Ok, really looking forward to this one. :smiley: It’s very well fleshed out.

Reminds me of watchmen. But I have no idea why lol. Also like john Clark ;). Very good so far :smiley:

Oh wow…O.O I’ll be honest at very first I wasn’t expecting much, then I clicked the link and I was very pleasantly surprised. I love your word flow, you give the reader meat, but you don’t beat it to death with a stick. You given a lot of customization right off the bat, and everyone already seem to have very distinct personalities instead of them all just bleeding together like I’ve seen with a few.

I like Damian so far…I mean come on a mix of Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark…I need to stop liking the possibly endearing jackass. {Though I also am seeing a touch of a male Miranda from ME. XD}

Love the whole Black-ops/ A-team almost like thing that’s going on. {Well maybe that’s not the right way to put it, it has the feel of my favorite hero movies, spy and heist movies.] XD I’m so excited to see where this goes. Keep up the fantastic work!

Who said it reminds them of watchmen? Exactly how I felt!

Yes seems like a mix between mass effect and watchmen/comic vibe. Very intriguing. Can’t wait to see how this pans out. Will we get a opportunity to upgrade our character? By powers or possible augmentations?

I very much doubt it, Muklin, the PC doesn’t need powers, he’s supernormal, like Batman.
