Team Zero (WIP)

@Dark_Bear2899 Well, the stuff I talked about is still only part of Owen’s personality, so hopefully focusing on the stuff that differentiates them will help. Unless your brother is also a snarky amoral cyborg mercenary, in which case I really don’t know what to tell you

@God_of_Demonz and @trollhunterthethird That is so very true.

I try and separate them, like they’re just two copies of the same thing. The only thing I do is if I like a character’s hair color or something about them like that I’ll change my mental image to make it better.

Hey I just noticed that we really didn’t get much of a description of the characters except Sarah. Could we get a short description?

@Dolphinzgirl, you really like your SIGs don’t you. I swear it’s the only weapon you’ve mentioned by name. Now I know that the 226, 228 and 229 are masterful and sexy firearms, but whatever happened to something classic, like the M9 or the USP .45? Hell, I’d even settle for a Glock Block. I’m having a SIG Sauer overload here. Too much of a good thing.

In fact I’d really like to see a MK 23 or something like it. In short, this is a minor quibble but I can’t really help it. I’m still enjoying the story.

And I have a question. Did you base Kat off Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite? 'Cause I’m noting some serious similarities between them.

@God_Of_Demonz, as a console player, Enemy Within is not being released as a DLC pack. I’m pretty sure it’s being released as an entirely separate game, which is annoying the hell out of me. I’m not going to buy another game just to have what should be given out as DLC. So I’ll have to substitute with watching YouTube playthroughs.

This is probably a little late but @Dolphinzgirl, I love your game. The whole team and the creativity put in to individualize each character is impressive. My favs for now are Alex, Damon and Sarah. Then again , I’m not so sure about him. He seems to brag to much. But still, it’s great!

@Dolphinzgirl and @Perfect_Storm I would prefer to see some weapons like Subs E.g your MP5s, your P90s or your MP7s some assault rifles like the M16A2, M4A1 andM16A4, L85A2/SA80s, AKs ect, however like Perfect_Storm said it is only really a minor thing for me and I’m not sure how much work it would be to add them in to the game, anyway keep up the good work!

Hey there’s no perfect storm but me [-( XD

@Perfect_Storm WTF!?! how can that be a separate game? It’s the same damn setting and plot, they just added mech armor and mutants as well as a terrorist group with your weapons. That is NOT enough to label it a new game entirely. Guess I’ll just watch a play through to find out what was up with that girl who had powers. What a disappoint

Edit: I just checked out the price on Steam. Not worth 40$ to me.

I am obsessed with Owen, just letting you know. I just played the game now, and it’s a really really great read! Love it!

@Storm, I’m afraid I’ll have to disagree with you in that, mate. You just don’t have that ‘spark’. XP

@lexlexx, while I wouldn’t mind seeing that kind of hardware in this story, at this point I feel that it hasn’t gotten to the point where you can justify having yet. I assume that kind of thing will appear in the mission that follows FairyGodFeather’s training montage idea. For the funnies, y’know. But as of now, it hasn’t developed to the point where you can say “I need this firepower”.

@God_of_Demonz, forty bucks off Steam is bad enough, but on Xbox I have to pay the full list price for XCOM to get Enemy Within, game and all, which is about $40 AUD now. This is on top of the Enemy Unknown one I already have, which cost me $80 AUD. To echo your statement, it’s cool but ultimately not worth it.

@Scrivener Yeah, I generally just pick whichever version of a character I end up liking better, the one on the screen or the one in my head

@Roslyn_samalt06 The character descriptions have been fairly vague so far for a couple of reasons, but mostly I haven’t completely nailed down a physical appearance for all of the characters. There’s a couple of characters I keep changing my mind about, so I don’t want to commit until I’ve finalized everything. Even then, I’ll probably keep it a bit vague though because I don’t tend to include descriptive details unless they’re relevant, and I also want the player to have a fair bit of room in interpreting the character’s appearance.

@Perfect_Storm Well, the Sig Sauer P226 is the sidearm carried by real life Navy SEALS, so that’s always going to be your default.

I’ve never played any of the Bioshock games, although I have heard plenty of good things about them. Kat’s character is more of a mish-mash of my favorite Disney princesses (Rapunzel, Jasmine, Belle, etc.) with a hearty helping of Jedi Knight.

@Miki Aww, thanks :slight_smile:

@Lexlexx You’ll get a lot more variety in armaments when you do the main missions. The recruitment missions were more limited because they took place in locations where you really couldn’t get a way with walking around with an assault rifle or were undercover to a degree and where for the most part the MC wasn’t necessarily expecting any combat to take place.

@Sandstorm I’m glad you like him. There’s a couple scenes with him coming up that I absolutely cannot wait to write.

What is your favorite character @Dolphinzgirl that you are writing?

@Storm It tends to vary a lot depending on who I’m writing at the time. When I’m inspired, that character becomes my favorite, and when I’m not, that character becomes my least favorite. But overall, I’d probably say Damon and Owen are my favorites because I find them the easiest to write.

Cool great game by the way.

@Perfect_Storm you know the joke that Valve cant count to three? Examples, Half-Life, Portal, Left 4 Dead, and Half-Life’s DLC, NONE of them have a third installment. Annoying as hell when all you want to do at the end of Half-Life DLC is shoot some Advisors and make G-man pay for what he did to you, Eli, and the world.

But about the game, will we meet someone who uses a sort of iron man suit the designed and built by them? Or a genius who has invented wonders like the end-game gravity gun or a portal gun that does not require moondust surfaces?

Maby they will make a crossover of portal and half life

Considering what you learn about the Borealis at the end of episode two and portal 2’s ship overboard achievement, that is entirely possible. Though the portal gun will have to go. The world just isn’t covered in moon dust surfaces. Though they may make a new one that does not require moon dust but that seems unlikely.

Chill has low health as any turret will tell you, and it would be hard for her to survive in the world of half-life with her complete lack of weapons experience/armor. Gordon had an idea of how to use a gun in the beginning, whereas Chell has never seen one in her life. Also, the rebels are easily killed when they follow you in the uprising, suggesting that without a hazard suit or something equal to it, you have a high mortality rate. Chell will have to change a bit to fit in to half life. Or the third installment will likely leave her dead

Can you take the video-game talk to a different thread please.

Sorry got carried away

@Dolphinzgirl how is the writing doing?
