Team Zero (WIP)

Heh, I keep going back and forth with my MC from being a sort of John Reese from Person of Interest, to a Cap’n Jack Harkness from Doctor Who/Torchwood. Quiet, focused, businesslike with dry humor, to friendly, flirtatious, and badass to the max :wink: I’m glad you’re able to get the opportunity to almost define your character as you go along here!

I may have been watching too much Agents of SHIELD, cause every time I read my character speaking it sounds like Agent Coulson. :wink: Regardless this is a fun game, nice take on meta humans and the dual time thing is nice.

@WIre I’m glad you’ve liked it, and I think that’s the best description of Owen I’ve seen :slight_smile:

@derekmetaltron I really need to get around to watching that show. I’ve been DVRing it since it started, and the episodes are just building up.

@derekmetaltron I’ll probably end up binge watching it as soon as finals are over. That sounds like a nice reward for myself.

@FortunesFaded I love both of those characters, so I really don’t think you can go wrong with either one.

@OtherGrimm I haven’t started writing the romance stuff yet, so things are subject to change, but as it stands now it varies from character to character. Every character has a real relationship path and a purely physical relationship path, and some characters have additional paths as appropriate to their personalities.

@Dolphinzgirl Awesome. I was hoping it would be something like that. I’m always disappointed when a romance only has one possible route. :slight_smile:

Would it be possible to change types midway? Say, start a physical relationship, only to have it turn into something more? Might be an interesting idea, though I don’t know how difficult it would be to code…

Need any help with romance scenes I can help you , pm me if you want to see some samples

@OtherGrimm There’ll definitely be chances to change type midway, although it will probably depend on what romance path you’re on and which you want to switch to. There will always be chances to have a relationship upgrade if you start out with a physical relationship, though. I mean that’s pretty much the only way you can start a real relationship with Owen, for example. You come at him with “feelings” off the bat and you’ll end up terrifying the poor guy.

@Roslyn_samalt06 Thanks for the offer! As it stands now though, the romance scenes are the things I’m looking forward to writing the most. They’re my reward for getting through all the fight scenes.

Wait? You’re not going to mix the romance with the fighting? What happened to kiss kiss slap slap?

So, best not to start calling Owen, Love, and Darling and Honeybun and confessing your undying love and planning a wedding? Especially not on our first mission together?

I would call him honybun just to see his face, but yeah I could see love being said a few times.

I really like Damon’s romance so far , but Owen’s a close second , and then Alex I don’t trust people with boyish good looks and bravado , wish I was a villan in one of the games…sigh , at least when your a good guy you got romance.

What? Why are people talking about romances? Did I miss an update? Oh, if I missed an update then the internet will BURN.

On a more serious note, I’m glad to see that this is garnering a lot of interest. It really deserves it.

And on a completely unrelated note I just played through this again, and when Gen. Fields said “Good luck Commander” was I the only one who thought XCOM? Anyone?

No I was just offering my service and my opinion, and how we eagerly await the true romances of game

@FairyGodfeather There is romance mixed in with the fighting, I was talking more small scale, like “all I have to do is finish writing this car chase, and then I can write the flirty banter that takes place after the car chase.” Although, the really romance specific stuff does have its own separate flashback.

Yeah, you start pulling that on your first mission together, and Owen is going to start backing away slowly. Feelings are to Owen as snakes are to Indian Jones.

@Roslyn_samalt06 I’m glad you like the guys so far. While you can’t be an outright villain in this game, I am trying to give you the options (if you want to take them) to establish that while your character might not be the villain in this story, they could be the villain in someone else’s. Just because you help save the world doesn’t mean you’re a good person.

@Perfect_Storm Aww, I’m glad you like it so much. Hopefully I’ll have another update up by Tuesday.

@derekmetaltron That. Sounds. Epic.

@Perfect_Storm I thought that xD

@Dolphinzgirl
Would you write a character based on yourself?

@Daffiestfiber71 For me, the fun is in creating the characters, so I have no great desire to create someone based on myself. Even when I play RPGs or other Choicescript games I always make up characters for them. Frankly, I really don’t think I would make a very interesting character, especially in a game like this one. I mean, if I was actually in this universe I would probably be Innocent Bystander #3 or something. In a more abstract sense, I think any character someone writes probably ends up saying something about them though.

@Perfect_Storm a fellow commander of the anti alien force know as X-COM! Have you seen the new update? It definitely makes me feel closer to my soldiers. My colonel gave up his emotions to protect us all from the invaders. My amazing female sniper volunteered to be the first to undergo the G-mods. Then we found some crazed human terrorists, shot them, out spyed them, and called it a day.

Character creation is definitely my favorite part of a story. Sometimes the amazing things that happened to them become directly involved with the story, or providing enough inspiration for a small book of their personnel stories

@God_of_Demonz Yeah, I always love it when the characters I create for a game end up growing and changing in ways that I didn’t think they would.

Update News

Enjoy an update a day earlier than I said I would! The update includes fixes for some of the problems y’all alerted me to with John’s mission, and it includes Owen’s recruitment mission if you bring Sarah along. Hope y’all enjoy :slight_smile:

Quick note while playing–
After getting rid of the baddies tailing us, one of the options is “Anyone else people planning to kill you we should know about?” That should probably be “Anyone else planning to kill you we should know about?” or “Any other people planning to kill you we should know about?”
