Maybe make mention of it? If there is any scenes discussing lives in the future, and how everyone’s been? I find that sort of thing gives characters a little more depth, just to know that they’re out there, living their lives, instead of all pining hopelessly for the main character to pick them. Of course it can be horribly complicated to implement, but even just a passing mention for one person, of the spouse back home, or whatever.
@Eriedanna Thanks so much, I’m glad you enjoy the game! I love Damon, too, mostly because he pretty much writes himself.
@Scrivener Alex is way too nice and laid back to ever get into a fight over someone. Alex is basically the quintessential nice guy.
@FairyGodfeather There’s plenty of conversation during the present day scenes about what everyone’s been up to. However, there are specific plot/story structure reasons why current romantic attachments don’t come up.
Oh as long as there’s reasons that’s good.
It’s more those games where every single NPC stares at you, pining, putting their life on hold until you see fit to pick just one of them. And the rest continue to gaze longingly in the hopes that you’ll change your mind, forget saving the world, oh no.
It’s good we get to discuss what they’ve been up to.
OH ALEX! Why did you have to die? Why do the good always die first. Poor Alex. Poor nice guy. What did you do to deserve your doom?
After my lungs nearly dying out, I have returned. Good guy Greg, step aside, Alex is about to mash yo’ ass up with kindness!
I can already tell I will live on denial and would decide Alex is just hiding, no matter how convincing his death seems! I can’t bear the thought, so headcanon to the rescue!
And now I’m looking forward to seeing Kat and Sarah bond. This should be good.
well i think alex died because of his boyish good looks evil people killed him
@FairyGodfeather I don’t really think most of the people on the team are the pining type anyways. I mean I have a very difficult time picturing Damon sighing longingly at the PC with a puppy dog look on his face.
Well, being a nice guy is what got Alex killed, although not in an actually in game sense, of course, but in a meta sense. The dead guy has to be nice because the game makes a lot less sense if he was a mean, unlikable jerk.
@Trollhunterthethird Yes, in addition to superspeed, Alex’s powers include kindness and being the only sane man on team.
@Jackrabbit I know what you mean. I’m writing some of Alex’s stuff for John’s recruitment mission, and he’s just so darn cute that even I get pretty sad about him dying.
Kat and Sarah’s friendship is super cute. Sarah’s flashback revolves around the social interactions on the team, so you’ll see a lot of that stuff there.
@Aera That just may be. Alex is dangerously good looking
Something funny would be that he died in a car accident or something so boring it’s true.
@God_of_Demonz I actually thought about doing something like that initially, just because it would be something of a subversion. But it just didn’t seem fair to poor Alex for him to go out like that, so I changed my mind.
@Dolphinzgirl is it possible to romance multiple members on the team in one play through and/or is it possible to romance multiple members at the same time?
@Daffiestfiber71 Yes you can romance multiple people in one play through, no you can’t romance multiple people at the same time.
But if you have multiple romance will it have problems with the team? :-?
No! i changed my mind Alex died because i killed him, im the one who should be the better looking person at the group he should suffer for taking my spot as the good looking one
im kidding
@Area Are you?
Will we encounter a Madame Vice type of powered? I think it could show the MC’s willpower concerning that area. We know they have willpower since they survived SEAL training, but having a willpower stat could be useful. Will it be possible to lose a limb and get a robot one in a, “trapped wolf” moment where your leg is trapped and you’re running out of time you do what must be done? Aka, cut off your leg and when getting back to HQ get a robot one like Owen. How much of him is machine btw?
@Aera Multiple romances won’t cause problems with the team because you can only be in one committed romance at a time and because of other assorted plot reasons.
@God_of_Demonz You won’t run into anybody with powers like Madame Vice, but you will go up against a badguy where your willpower will very much come in handy. I have some really fun/creepy ideas for him, and I cannot wait to start writing his stuff.
No robotic limbs for the MC. Owen is sort of a unique situation, and trying to get the sort of augments he has would probably kill you. In terms of how much of him is machine, that’s sort of a tricky question that comes up quite a bit during his story arc. However, I can say that all of his enhancements are internal, so he looks like a completely normal human man.

Initially Kat and Sara were going to be the romencable girls and Damon and Alex were going to be the romanceable guys, but then I decided that wasn’t really fair since Alex dies. So then I decided John should also be a romance option. And then I felt bad for poor Owen, being the only non-romanceable one. So now everybody is romanceable
Hmm…but now it’s unfair that there are 4 romanceable men, but only 2 romanceable women. For the sake of fairness you should add 2 more female team members.

I second what @P_Tigras said. ^
@Dolphinzgirl I am a very big fan of this. This is the story I’m most excited about and can’t wait for. I get fangirl excited over any and all updates.
@P_Tigras The characters that make up the team were created a long time before I decided whether or not there would be romance and if so who would be romanceable, so this is just sort of the way it worked out. Besides, I think I would go crazy if I tried to create two more characters. Plus, if you look at it from the perspective of “who can I actually live happily ever after with” I think the numbers will end up being pretty even across the board.
@Leto Thanks! I’m trying to be pretty good about updating regularly, no matter how much real life tries to intrude. I have my self-imposed update deadlines for this on the same calendar as all my actual work deadlines.
@Dolphinzgirl Fair enough. I was only teasing anyway, as evidenced by all those winks at the bottom of my last post, but I do like that both of the gals are potentially serious “happily ever after” type romances. And the Sarah intro was great fun, especially as we got to bring along Kat, and even dance with her. At the moment I’m having a hard time deciding which of the two gals I like more. They’re both intriguing in very different ways.
So far Alex and Damon, however Owen seems pretty cool so I might have to decide between those three :’(
