I just love all of Shawn’s nicknames for Gus. I still call my bff “Ovaltine Jenkins” on occasion
Update News
Sarah’s entire recruitment mission is now up. I had a ton of fun writing the stuff where Kat/Damon accompany you, and I hope y’all enjoy it. As always, any feedback is greatly appreciated.
The next update should probably be up in about two weeks or so.
Disappointing update. I was looking forward to my character dancing with Damon, but it turns out that’s a female-only option. At least I had the option to flirt with a random stranger.
Though it was fun to try and persuade Sarah. I like that you can take the less diplomatic approach and blackmail her.
Hahaha your MC wonders what a Bidet is.
I love this game, it is amazing! I love the characters, especially, they’re all so fun and quirky in their own way! I’m really, really looking forward to this!
I loved how my flirty comment went over Kat’s head lol
@OtherGrimm The dancing thing is a goof up on my part. I had changed it in the actual file, but forgot to update the public folder. It’s fixed now, so either gender can dance with either Damon or Kat.
Yeah, starting with Sarah you can be a lot more creative in how you recruit people.
@Aera Well, I don’t know what a bidet is for, so it only seemed fair that the PC should be able to wonder about it, too.
@Random I’m glad you like the characters. I think character writing is probably my favorite part of the whole thing.
@Nocturnal_Stillness Give her time
She’ll figure out this whole “human social interaction” thing eventually … hopefully.
@MIGhunter Thanks! Although I promise the ending will not involve a ghost kid telling you to pick one of three color coded buttons
I dance with Damon I’m so happy!!! :x
Ah Damon, I need to upstage him and slap his ego a bit, other than that quite the enjoyable date!
This was so much fun. Even though you only get bits of pieces of the characters, their personality really shines through. As a fan of character-driven stories, I whole heartedly approve.
The dialogue was great too, snarky enough to be cool, but natural enough to not be too James Bond. Damon is so much fun to banter with!
My only critque is that I felt the missions sort of flew by, since there was no time frame. I think a small scene after each mission, a short conversation summarizing it, or just banter between the character recruited so far, would help space it out a bit. Just to give a bit of breathing room, you know?
I also want to say I don’t know how love at firs sight works with a written medium, but evidently it exist because I instantly fall in love with Alex. My fangirl sense is tingling, if you will. I can really see how he’s that one guy everyone likes, one way or the other.
@Dolphinzgirl Yay! I am appeased.
Oh, and there’s a typo in the recruitment menu. It says ‘Alex Monoe’ instead of ‘Alex Monroe’.
mass effect 3 was a good game but the ending made it so all your choices didn’t matter it gets an 8.5 out of ten
this game gets a 9 out of ten
No this game gets a 11 out of ten
Impressive:D I like how the story is non-chronological:P
I can definitely see myself getting attached to the team, Damon’s ego, Alex’s humor, Kat’s adorableness, Sarah’s charm…
Also a Kat romance please:)))
@Chriswa27 I’m glad you enjoyed the dance. The dance with Damon was probably my favorite thing to write. I watched so many ballroom dance videos on youtube. In case you’re curious, they’re doing a Vienese waltz to Artists’ Life by Johann Strauss during the dance scene.
@trollhunterthethird Don’t worry, you’ll get your chance
@Jackrabbit I’m glad the characters and dialogue come off that way. It’s fun to try and balance a more heightened comic book/action movie style with trying to create realistic, believable characters.
The time frame issue is something I’ve been toying around with. This bit is unique from the other portions of the game because it’s basically covering five separate memories that take place at five separate points in time, as opposed to the others, which cover one chronological period. So I’ve been going back and forth between including a little bit of banter in the past to help transition, or having more commentary by the PC and Damon in the present to transition, or maybe even doing a little bit of both. Any thoughts on what people think would work better?
Yay for loving Alex! My biggest fear was that I would write this character and everyone would be like “why the heck do the characters like this guy so much?”
@OtherGrimm Thanks, I will totally fix that.
@Darkstar2101 Thanks! I actually have a note to myself in my outline that says “Make sure choices matter.”
@P0RT3R You are too sweet!
@LordCypher Kat is a romance option.
Alex is sweet but despite Alex being this powered superhero and the MC being just a regular human being I get a sort of protective big brother vibe around him.
Glad you can dance with Damon as a male character too. Does this mean that he is also a full romance option for a male PC?
I get the feeling my character will date Sarah while Kat has a crush on him lol it’d be an interesting cat fight lol
Can I get the link?
