Why not have everyone be acceptable as a romance option, and have no stat for attraction at all?
Seriously? Just no. Not to be mean,but do you thinkeveryone would be like “Oh hhe’s gay,ll cool!” Heck no. Sry,but it’s not about the romance,that’s a minor problem.
Are you talking about my idea @StarScry I didn’t mean have the choice be acceptable in game just that everyone in game should be one. Maybe not one that turns out well but where the PC can be attracted to whoever they want. Not that being gay/whatever is accepted.

Starcry?Star Scry. Anywho,I think that you should be ablw to romance everyone but depending on your and their sexuality it would be varyingly difficult. A lesbian and a gay dude dating eachother? Uhh…No. Idk tho. I’d say that you should be able to romance anyone regardless of sexual prefrence,romantic prefrence==sexual preference. So that could be cool as well,but I’d be happy with just choosing sexuality and romancing whover you want,with varying success ofc.

Why should “your sexuality” be made into something other than “what you actually are choosing”, though?
What does it add to make it a stat if its only limiting possible actions (since NPCs not going for the PC can happen to anyone for any number of reasons, regardless of what the PC wants)?

It does sound way more complicated than a normal cyoa, but I’m hoping to not only make a good game but shed some light on the LGBTA+ people. I’m one myself, so I know how representation is hard to find.

I’m going to make it possible to choose your sexual orientation, and you will be allowed to flirt with ANYONE (because that’s how I am myself) and lying about who you like will also be available. I’m trying to add all the options here.
Curses though I guess now I have to be sure I don’t have my MC make a high school related game else I may not survive. 
Hmm I’m interested to see if during high school you’ll be able to write your own book. You know just something to have your character do when not in class and if they aren’t into sports. Though by the end of the game I probably will have my MC hook up with the other shy book lover in school. There’s always been at least one person like that in every school I’ve gone to.

When people keep thinking about the word ‘stat’ they assume it’s something to subtract from a possible scene.
I suppose the easiest explanation is that people (especially those of the adolescent variety) don’t always tell the truth about themselves, and that’s generally what CoG relies on when talking about sexuality/gender. As in, you may – in your head game wise – choose to be gay, then later tell someone you’re straight. Well, you wouldn’t want the stat suddenly changing on you for that, would you? Or perhaps you’ve considered yourself straight, but find yourself fancying someone of your gender/gender identity.
I wasn’t at all suggesting it should limit who might fancy you or who you can flirt with.
Point is, sexuality and gender/gender identity/sex are all pretty complex things.
I wasn’t making the suggestion to even say you HAVE to put it in the game, just saying it’s possible with the code depending on how you wanted to play those things out, ‘n’ what not.
