Theoretically, it should only take months (like a regular book). Problem is, a lot of people making these things don’t get to write full time. We have day jobs, university/college or other things keeping us from dumping a lot of time into these things.
For instance, I need a lot of focus to write. Hard when a toddler is coming to your face wanting something or whining for random reasons. College starts back for me next week (yay me) so that’ll slow me down. There’s other factors as well.
Debugging is a task as well, especially if the game is complex. Let’s not get started on editing. It is always something, isn’t it?
I have to take care of a 5-year-old for the day and have to keep him out of my basement since it has dangerous chemicals such as cyanide, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid. However, my basement is where all my entertainment systems, and games are so I have to entertain a child with nothing. I am going to hate it so much.
