Hello everyone, Sam here. This is a thread for my latest WIP, Strange Things Happen Here.

Summary:

You have amnesia. You’re also locked in a writer’s office in a basement. Only a dog, a bed, a wooden desk and chair with a few candles, some writing supplies, and a strange pendant are there to keep you company. One page is grandly titled Stranger’s Story.

You are soon rescued by a beautiful androgynous healer. Only, you soon discover they are your captor. The first real information they tell you is that they love you, they hate you, and they know everything about you. The second thing they tell you is that they took the liberty of implanting an explosive device inside your stomach to keep you obedient during your stay. The third thing they tell you is that they always have the remote.

Strange Things Happen Here is a terrifying and claustrophobic interactive horror novel where your choices control the story. It’s entirely text based and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

  • Play as male, female, or non-binary
  • Romance the antagonist or strive to maintain your self respect
  • Come out cleansed with fire or succumb to perpetual torment
  • Take solace in dog and cat companions

You are supposedly worthless. They supposedly are too. You know nothing. They know everything. You are skulking and cruel. They are a beacon and altruistic. And you only have seven days to write them a perfect novel before they blow your guts to smithereens.

Genuinely impressed by how prolific your writing schedule is.Turning this out so soon after Meteoric’s submission is something not many writers I know would be capable of. It sounds like a game to be watching too.

Picked unfortunate time to read this, but it definitely very interesting. Very stressful. Stranger feels real in way that is uncomfortable. Mostly trying to keep the dog and cat relatively safe and okay, honestly. Am curious how it will go as story progresses, and wondering what/who is upstairs.

I think the story will be increasingly stressful but increasingly cathartic as it progresses

You’ll be meeting the other upstairs occupant in the next chapter
