This is my first post here about my first game Starways Saga. I’ve been a fan of COG and Hosted games for a while, but I’m new to this forum. I think I started this project in late February, early March and it’s’ come a long way but has so much more to go.
It’s a sci-fi story set in future where interstellar travel has boomed and human civilization has spread across the galaxy. The Alliance Navy keeps the peace, patrolling the more populated systems. But in the Far Reaches, outlaws have free reign. For decades independent star pilots have journeyed to these distant systems in search of adventure. Fighting pirates and slavers, these adventure seeking star pilots become the stuff of legends.
You have dreamed about becoming a star pilot yourself since you were young. But you need the skills, experience and most of all money to make your dream happen.
Choose one of four, totally unique paths to find all you need to chase you dream.
Enlist in the Alliance Navy. (Demo completely playable)
Sign on as crew on a massive Colony Ship. (Demo In ProgressP
Join up with a Merchant Guild frigate. (Demo completely playable)
Work at the premier Ship Building companies in the galaxy. (Demo Completely Playable)
The Merchant path, Navy path and the Ship Builder path are fully playable. The Colony Ship Path will be developed next.
The closing chapter, where you start you career as a space adventuring, star pilot will completed after the remaining chapters. The closing chapter should offer a satisfying conclusion, but will leave plenty of room for a future sequel.
Romance Options
Merchant Path
Vincenzo: Straight. Home/Origin: Grew up on a merchant ship. The XO and son of the Captain on board the Venetian Prince. Earned his position by skill not blood. He’s not looking to damage his reputation by sleeping with a crew member. It will take some seduction.
Sally: Straight. Home/Origin: Giles Prime. Her and her brother are the engineers of the Venetian Prince. A source of positivity for the whole ship.

Alby: Gay. Home/Origin: Giles Prime. Engineer, he and his sister fled from a repressive religious planet. Looking for somebody to break through his shell.
Cora: Gay. Home/Origin: Minnesota. Works down in the cargo hold. There’s a big heart inside her muscled frame.
Burn: Anyone. Home/Origin: Einstein Station. Works in maintenance. Can fix anything, but can you fix their broken heart?
Kurt: Anyone. Home/Origin: Proxima B. A meathead, who works down in the cargo hold. What you see is what you get. But maybe, just maybe you can change him.
Navy Path
Devin: Anyone. Home/Origin: Where ever his dad was stationed. The son of an Admiral. He tries to do everything by the book. Maybe he’s read Kama Sutra.
Goose: Straight. Home/Origin: Shelton Bright and Katoris Bright. A country boy from a back water planet in the middle of nowhere. Always looking to have a good time as long as his mouth doesn’t get him into trouble.
Julia: Straight. Home/Origin: Einstein Station. Bright and kind, but also tough as nails. She’s got big dreams and the determination to see them through.
Kell: Anyone: Home/Origin: Etosha Bright. A fierce friend and ally she resembles the lionesses on the nature reserve planet she was raised on. She’s looking to put her claws away and show her soft side with someone special.
Captain Ruma Nasrin: Gay. Home/Origin: New Bronx City. She’s your direct supervisor at the academy. You’ll have to be extra discreet or this could spell disaster. She’s lonely and none of the officers take her seriously. Is a steamy affair the answer?
Ares: Anyone. Home/Origin: Muskeget. This semiaquatic alien, is big, strong and up for anything. He pretends to not be interested but he’s very curious about human ways.
Athena: Anyone: Home/Origin: Muskeget. She’s looking for anyone to talk to besides her brother. She’s excited to explore the galaxy and experience life among humans. Open each other’s world to new possibilities.
Ship Builder Path
Cadillac Hubbard: Straight. Job Title: Chief Designer. His job is creating cutting edge designs for new star ships to keep Pierce and Brown on top. A cross between a tortured artist and a mad genius.
Claudius Brown: Anyone. Job Title: Playboy/unemployed. The son of the managing director of the Brown family, he’s never worked a day in his life. He has access to endless money and the galaxy is his playground.
Irena Barrows: Straight. Job Title: Intern. Your fellow intern. She’s perfectly built for the corporate world. She’s cold, cutthroat and quick on her feet. Everyone to her is either a tool or an obstacle.
Marguerite Brown: Gay. Job Title: Chief Financial Officer. The Opposite of her brother Claudius. She’s dedicated to her work and to the company. She wants to earn everything she gets. She has little no time for the self destructive, childish pursuits of her brother.
Nathan Stilton: Gay. Job Title: Corporate Artist. Designing corporate logos pays the bills and allows for freedom to create whatever he wishes in his off time. It also allows for frequent parties with both Detroit’s elite and it’s thriving artist community. He’s always the perfect host.
Roth/Romilly Edwards: Gender Selectable. Anyone. Job Title: Security Agent. Icy, dangerous, armed, possibly harboring dark secrets? Check, check, check, check.
Smush: Anyone. Job Title: Intern. Admitted to the intern program for their engineering skills, Smush is a skilled starship mechanic. More impressive, they do it all high as a kite. But behind the street smarts and pot smoke, Smush is deadly smart. Maybe they want people to underestimate and overlook them.
Colony Ship Path
Captain Catalina Arroyo: Anyone. Job title: Captain of the Endurance. What does it take to ensure a colony ship makes it to it’s destination? The captain must be dedicated, unwavering and capable of making tough calls. That’s Captain Arroyo. She’s tough and full of fire. Help her blow off some steam.
Chet Donahue: Gay. Job title: Bedrock Mining Corporate Security. Being corporate security for a mining company usually means you have to do some messed up stuff from time to time. Chet acts like he doesn’t care because the pay is good. He’s loyal, but to all the wrong people. But it’s hard not to look at him and want to try to change him.
Honus Haller: Straight. Job title: Agronomist. Honus is your classic farm boy. He knows his way around a hoe, he loves baseball and the simple things in life and he’s got that fabled farm boy strength. What else needs to be said?
Laura Martinambo: Gay. Job title: Graduate Student. An anthropology student with a never ending thirst for knowledge and nonstop energy for research and study. She studies humanity, but does she really understand herself? She’ll undergo a journey of self discovery on the journey that could lead her to some unexpected places.
Dr. Rebecca Cohen: Straight. Job title: General Practitioner. Straight laced, professional, icy cool under pressure. But what is she like when she’s off work? You’ll quickly find there’s a lot more to her than her ultra competent doctor side. There may be a real wild child hiding under the surface.
Sam D’Agostino: Anyone. Job title: Passenger/Colonist. A high school acquaintance who has signed up to join the colony. Maybe a spark of familiarity can turn into something much much more as you begin to see each other in a whole new light.
