I’m not sure why that would be the case. I thought there should be eight save files.
This is what I put in my startup file: *sm_init starwayssaga | 8
Anybody else having this problem?
I believe I’ve heard that happening when browser cache is full, or something like that.
Hmm so I need to clear cache, okay Ill try that
No Han Solo smuggler path?
Hello everyone,
It hasn’t even been a week yet since I first posted this and I’ve already gotten so much support and valuable feedback. Please keep it coming.
I will continue to tweak and edit what I’ve put out so far, so please let me know of any errors or typos you encounter. But I’m looking ahead to the next path.
I have some gridwork laid out and a loose outline for each path. As they are independent, there is no reason why one path would have to be completed before another. And I am I equally prepared to start each of the remaining three paths. Therefore I thought it would be fun to leave the choice up to you of what path I will start next.
I’ll follow up this comment with three individual comments briefly describing the storyline of that path. Heart the path you want to see the most. (Of course eventually you will see them all.)
At the end of the week the winner will hopefully be decided and I can get started on that path.
I will try to have an update with at least 5k words of that path by the end of August.
Cheers!
Navy Path
As a fresh recruit, you are clay to be molded into whatever the Navy decides you’ll be most useful as.
At basic training, friendly, loving, drill instructors will caringly teach you useful things, like how to shut up and obey.
From basic training you will go to officer training school. At officer training you will choose what discipline you will join. You could be a deck officer on a massive battleship, a down in the mud and blood marine, or a hotshot fighter pilot.
From there you will be sent off to your ship or unit to complete your service. Your service will see you go from the tension filled Frontier Sector to the ever dangerous Far Reaches.
Ship Builder Path
You’ve been selected out of millions of applicants for a year long internship at Pierce and Brown the premier ship building company in the galaxy. Their ships are a perfect blend of speed and luxury.
During your internship you’ll learn all the ins and outs of ship building and mechanics. From a single person craft to a massive colony ship, you’ll be able to fix it, supe it up and getting running better than ever.
The world of luxury ship building is also a world of corporate espionage. When you’re on top, everyone else wants to take you down and to stay on top you can’t be complacent, you have to stay two steps ahead.
Complete your internship and vie for a full time position. Your bosses will ask a lot of you, but there’s a lot of money in it if you can get it done.
Explore life amongst the upper crust of future Earth, learn all there is to know about starships and complete dangerous missions across the galaxy to keep the bosses happy.
Colony Ship Path
Every massive colony ships leave the core sectors to journey across the galaxy to colonize new worlds. These ships are massive and slow. A journey could take years.
Life on these behemoths can be boring and claustrophobic for the future colonists. But for strong-willed crew looking for work it’s a good way to paid. Colony ships are like floating cities, plenty of work and opportunity.
Find a role in the crew of this massive ship. Get your hands dirty doing maintenance work, keep the peace amongst the colonists, travel the ship delivering precious resources.
Everybody trapped and bored, these ships can be like powder kegs, it just takes one spark and BOOM. Journey across the galaxy to the Far Reaches where far more trouble is waiting.
- Colony Ship Path
- Navy Path
- Ship Builder Path
Hope this helps @Optimal_Crisis
Wow, really? I expected ship builder (corporate espionage) to be at least as popular as navy (even this early.)
Thanks, very helpful!
So the route basically:
- Rogue trader ( Merchant)
- ACE pilot (Navy)
- Corporate Spy (Ship building)
- Frontier explorer/Mechanic (colony ship)
Can’t say I am not Intrigued by this, especially how being corporate spy play out to MC’s dream.
Considering you spend 25k credits for the resort, I think most would like something special to justify getting it.
Thanks for pointing those out. Very helpful! It should be all fixed now.
I will probably delete my comment for spoiler reasons and give it another go tomorrow. Can I inbox you the typos as I find them? I really don’t want to spoil any surprises. I’ll compile them how I did here so it’s all one message.
Always love sci-fi so thank you for this. I don’t know will the story go to macross or robotec path in the future but what i know is don’t hesitate to write it. Don’t overburden yourself so you don’t lose motivation and hit the writer wall and stay healthy
That’d be very helpful. Send them along.
Ship builder ftw. Corporate espionage and business management in space? Yessir sign me up. Look people Navy might sound cool fighting and being ordered around but imagine the high stakes of bluffing and ingratiating yourself with upper executives knowing that any mistake can lead to collosal consequences. Dodging alphabet agencies as they investigate your cyber crimes or break ins. Leading an investigation where you are the real culprit.
Disclaimer idk if any of this will be in the story but just imagine the potential of ship building and how you can retire the head of a multi galactic corporation.
I think it’s safe to say the naval path is the winner! Expect the first update of this path by the end of August. Really appreciate all the engagement and interest!
17k Word Navy Path Update:
The first update for the Navy path is here as promised. The update covers your time living in the transport on your way to bootcamp. It’s very early days. You’ll meet a lot of the main characters for this path and get your first taste of military life. I’ll give another warning here for very crude language. There’s drill instructors saying drill instructor type things.
If anyone is new. The Merchant path is fully playable and this is the first update for the Navy path. There is a choice in the beginning you get when talking to your sister. This will determine your path.
Let me know what you think! Thanks again for all the support!
