Two weeks off? Nice! I don’t have enough time for that, but I might take a couple days at the end to give time for things in the “not required but nice to have” pile. And loads of playtests. In each one I find several things to fix or fine-tune.

Good idea! Yeah, my paychecks will be utterly pitiful this month but it will be worth it.

Hey, if you place then you make that money back. My job doesn’t really allow unpaid vacation, and I save most of the paid kind for taking the girls to Daytona every summer. We are single income, so it’s our one extravagance for the year. Hate to take it away from ‘em. But I do have some personal days to use for story polishing. Still a year or two from being able to swing going to Disney, after all.

Nice
I’ve finished all of TMB except like 5k in the penultimate chapter, so I should be submitting it on the 30th.

It did a hiccup for me too, which is why I’m hoping to get a confirmation that it arrived.
At least 6 now… I’ve submitted! What a busy year, but I got it done and I’m happy with my submission.
Keep going, everyone. I want to see our people in all the winning spots!

A few weeks isn’t enough time for you?! Tsk tsk.

I think I could have done it given time, but writing a story and writing a CoS game are so different. Takes a lot of time and dedication, so who knows if I could have finished lol.

That’s something I was wondering about, actually. If a game is submitted to the CoG comp before the deadline, but because of some issue with the submission page, CoG never actually received that submission, would they be given the opportunity to submit it again, after the deadline is over?

I mean, no…? All entrants should receive confirmation of their submission.

Yes, but I suppose what concerns me is the possibility that somebody submitted a game to the contest awhile ago, but due to a problem with the submission page, CoG never received it. The author still might not realize there was an issue, since they probably don’t expect to receive any confirmation that their submission was received until after the competition’s deadline.
(I know I experienced something similar the first time I submitted my Hosted Game. There was some kind of problem with the submission page, and so HG didn’t receive it the first time I submitted it. I ended up waiting about a month before I actually asked if the game had been received, since I assumed the staff at HG didn’t send any confirmation because they were busy with other projects.)
Edit: Just realized on the submission page that it says all entrants can expect to receive a confirmation email within 2 to 3 working days, so never mind what I said before. (Though it is slightly worrying for all us silly people who waited until the last minute to submit their games.)

The hiccup stopped it from being submitted. It was clear that it didn’t go. I would think that anyone submitting would look for confirmation to assure that it got sent.
CoG can’t be blamed if someone has trouble submitting and doesn’t contact them to use an alternate submission method.
Edit: And yes, as your edit mentions, CoG confirms submissions.
