ok i found and read the demonic races that we can play as i just wanted to know that the things that stereotype certain demons will you have to follow those stereotypes like the stereotype that reapers are cold and unapproachable or is it that only most of them are like that and there are reapers that act differently

@Jonnyboy666 The stereotypes are just that; stereotypes. They are what others perceive a group to be like, but do not define a singular demon at all. You can follow them if you wish, but nothing is set. Reapers can be just as friendly as any other demon can be, although most of them are usually seen as the coldest of them all.

@Imon that reply took me to some posts past xD There is a way indeed. When I was contemplating adding some, there was actually a thread active all about it. However, it was some time ago and I honestly cannot remember. I decided not to add any ambient music yet.

thank you, almighty based Alpha Canem

@Jonnyboy666 Your Welcome

EDIT on Progress: Okay, so I recently returned from holiday and after going over the files I’ve decided I want to go ahead and see how adding what I see as a Day/Night cycle to SAD. What I mean by this is that the game variables will cycle between Day/Night 1 - 25 and back, which change up how you approach different characters. Each character (mortal) will be in a set location doing something depending on whether it is day or night, and also whether it is Day/Night 1, 2, 3…up to 25. If I’m ever bored, I could always extend the cycles limits, although I think 25 is more than enough. Too much variation and it’d be a pain in the arse for both me and the player.

Special events activated by the player, such as meeting someone at a café or the start of a larger, broader arcing story will bypass this cycle and will be available whenever the player meets the requirements. E.g, taking the café idea, if a Shifter wanted to meet Jenny at the café on a certain day, you wouldn’t have to wait around for Day 9 for example. You would visit the café whenever you were ready and Jenny would be there to assume your meeting here, regardless of the day. However, the switch between day and night would still have its effect, as the café would most likely be closed during the night.

Travelling to and from the Underworld will move the game forward in this cycle. Day 1 goes to Night 1, Night 1 goes to Day 2, ect until eventually Night 25 reverts back to Day 1. To speed up this process, you can choose to “hide”. Depending on your current location, you can choose to hide in your surroundings, whether this be a closet, a bed, a bush or a tree. This will move the cycle forward a step, but, if your hiding in a closet and someone opens it, you’re both going to get a nasty shock!

So with that said, what are your opinions on implementing this? Is it worthwhile? Pointless? Do you understand what nonsense I’m spewing out?

Sounds cool. Reminds me of Dead Rising 2, when I’d spend too much time on side quests and looking for lightsaber materials, and couldn’t beat the game

So the dreaded CoG curse fell upon me yesterday. I lost the WiP files whilst backing up data in preparation for windows 10. I have nearly 2.5tb worth of data and didn’t even bother to check through it to make sure I had copied my documents folder before cleaning out the spare hdd I had SAD saved on >.> I usually have dropbox to sweep into the rescue too, but without a demo release I hadn’t even backed it all up there.

Thankfully, all of my notes and preparations were saved on good old paper and pen! I’ve started rewriting all of it, and I must say its given me a fresh look on adding new things and such. I guess these things happen to those who are so paranoid, they back up data for an OS upgrade XD

I’ll update later; I’m having a motivational all nighter tonight and I’ve pushed procrastination out of the window!

DEATH TO PROCRASTINATION! Yelling at and threatening yourself if you don’t meet your goal helps kill it that’s what I do at least ; }

:angry: I’m gonna hurt you

Just kidding although I am a little pissed at least you have your notes unless your dad used them for kindling :wink: But you can make a recovery I believe in you. What are we going to call this the great screw up of the windows 10no save preparation? Hmm also don’t procrastinate it just makes everyone sad :cry: Everyone

I hope the game isn’t dead…

I don’t think it was ever concieved. However 1 month isn’t very long. And Blazedstorm tends to make random sudden appearances.

@Doctor Random ones indeed! I must confess that now that College has begun, I’ve done hardly anything for a month regarding the project. I was actually planning to merge this an another project together, which would result in SAD being a a visual video game instead of a CoG. Honestly, I haven’t yet decided. I’m playing around with some Game engines in my free time, but it all comes down to one question: Would this be better as a game or as a story? ;-;

Although I did manage to rewrite all of the lost stuff, mind you. So it wasn’t ALL that lazy xD

@BlazedStorm
I’d like to see it as a story, myself, but if you release it as a game, what platform would it be? Ios/Andriod or pc?

I’d like it to be a story , I loved the demo of this game and hope to see more of it

Which would let you create your vision better? Is there an advantage making a game has over a story in your case?

Bladestorm just appears when we summon him…

@BlazedStorm What were you merging it with or would the only change to it be visual novel style?

I would prefer a game with a driven storyline or something also hey cool game mechanic what if you have to meet a monthly quota and if you don’t you get a debuff and if you do you get nothing but if you give more you get a buff to your stats however as stated by @Shawnheatherly its your game take it where you want it but also realize that there will be certain things you may have to do to meet customers wants if you want to sell it also if you decide to sell it I’ve been around since when you started this project and I’ll be damned if a price tag stops me from buying and playing it but anyways I hope you have a wonderful time in college and that you are able to take your game wherever you want it to go.

Revised and restarted. I’ve started a stricter schedule now that the college work has died down, so lets hope shit gets done for once
