I also really like how it doesn’t just “throw” romance at you, and you actually have to develop it.

Just got home. I saw the message about it being in the Play store while I was picking up dinner and I instantly bought it. Not even gonna wait for a demo. So far I think it’s amazing! Definitely has potential to be one of my Top 5 games. Great work! Back to the ring I go…

Whenever I try to imagine the character “Solitary” I always imagine Deadpool for some reason.

JUST finished downloading and about to try it for the first time. Based off everyoe’s posts so far, I’m in for a treat!

The worst thing in the world is knowing someone close to you has play store and you can’t buy it cause its not your phone

Argh…yup apple is trying to kill people, only logical conclusion. I’m excited to play…curse you apple, get your butts in gear…

It’s kind of odd, I thought the Google play stores usually took longer with releasing stuff, because they have so many more devices they have to approve it for?

But Apple’s special…

Too bad about this problem with apple. On another note I just finished it, and my god was the ending good, i’m just not sure I made the right choice in the end, then again the choices in the end aren’t black and white, they’re more about priority.

I.Can’t.Stop.Playing… It’s been a few hours and I’m still on play through 1. Maybe I don’t read very fast, or maybe i visualize a bit longer than others, idk, but I will say that I really enjoy this story!

Played through the game twice. Did two romances, not that I particularly care for those. I chose the same ending path for both of my playthroughs, oddly enough. The ending I chose was so satisfying from a revenge point of view.

@Gran_Sleep My first playthrough took 9 hours for me. I played for five hours straight, unable to tear myself away until I was falling asleep at the keyboard. I went to bed, and as soon as I woke up I was playing again.

While I am a fast reader usually, I’m clueless about wrestling, and admittedly I was taking notes to write feedback while I played. But still, 9 hours on the first playthrough is the same length of time I’d take to read a book, and unlike a book, Slammed! was immediately replayable. I took my time over some of the choices because I wanted the best possible ending, and because I like thinking and procrastinating over them and I get stuck by moral dilemmas. Boy did poor @Chikiamco hear me rage when I missed the best ending because of two choices I didn’t make. And of course I had to immediately go back and replay it so I would get the best ending. And then replay again to see everything I missed out on. And then replay yet again after that. And then wait, and wait for the game to be released, refreshing the google page for hours until finally the game was there and buy it as soon as I could just so I could play it all over again. Because I love Slammed! It’s my favourite Choice of Game, even though I’m utterly clueless about wrestling.

@Highduke Wish I didn’t have to speak in vague generalities, but I agree, the choices at the end aren’t black and white. There’s no ‘right’ choice as such, which is one of the aspects I loved so much. You phrased it well, they’re about priority. For me there was only ever one real choice. But then my main character was utterly obsessed, almost as obsessed as I was.

All these good reviews are making me antsy to see its release by Apple!

SLAMMED! is now available on iOS; the free trial is also online. https://www.choiceofgames.com/slammed/redirect.php?src=forum

The best ending I have had so far had me finishing #2 in the rankings stat. Managed to grab 4 awards as well. I have no clue how many awards you can get but I plan on playing a few more times to find out.

I highly recommend this game. It has been a blast so far.

YAY!!!

I finished the same as you, GameOver. Not sure how many awards I got, but it was many. I’ll talk more about this in the spoiler thread though.

@Fairy See, this is why I want to write interactive fiction as well. Get people caring for the characters with great writing and then thrust tough decisions onto them. Imagine a survival game, where you have a favorite character (besides the one you make decisions on the behalf of), and you make a tough decision that leads to them dying. Then there’s other types of things to consider, like dropping someone in a warzone and making the reader really feel like they’re there, see how tough the decisions are to make and then having to live with said decisions. It has the potential to make for rather powerful stories if they’re done right and if the reader doesn’t mind making a few choices here and there, disrupting the narrative flow a bit. Oh, and there’s more than two romance paths for a straight male? I’ll talk about this in the spoiler thread.

So, I really think you can be proud of the job you’ve done here, Chikiamco. It’s not often I sit down and go through an entire game/book in one sitting either. I was quite engrossed. What you’ve done is pretty much what every writer dreams of, I hope. I don’t care about writing crap for money, but I do care about writing stuff that genuinely affects people even if said stuff is not well liked, and affect people you have, judging by people’s reactions. The bonus being the story’s well liked too. I think what adds to it as well is the fact that you zero in on the backstage politics and what it means to be a wrestler. The Wrestler was good for this reason, because it focused on the love of the ‘sport’, combined with good acting. I’m not saying everything in the book is very realistic, having never wrestled at all or been involved in it, but I can imagine a lot of backroom backstabbing etc. takes place like in your book. And yeah, the unworthy do often get the titles, which is touched on with your story.

I guess it sometimes leads to wrestlers wondering why they bother, but then they think about the thrill of participating and the fans.

@DavidGil the spoilers thread is up again so if you want to join us over there. I’m the same. It’s why I want to write interactive fiction. I want to write something like Slammed! in terms of quality, and reader impact, although not in terms of wrestling. Slammed is one of the things I love so much about interactive fiction.

Ok yeah this game is freakin awesome. I mean it was written so well that I was literally excited more than my character was. The story, the characters, the choices, the details… the story was just amazing. I gotta play it again!

Now, pls remember, go give reviews for the game on whatever platform your bought it on.

Thank you!
