Lol “Trollnonymous” best wrestler name EVER.
Sweet, I’ve been waiting for this to come out x3
Think I might have to wait a little longer. I’ve been lurking this discussion and Google Play Store since this morning. Saw Amazon and Chrome so… Play should be next heheheheh.
Congrats on the release! Giving it a play through right now.
So far i’m on chapter 4 and loving it, I love the many variables the game shows you when deciding what to do for a match.
How do I play the demo? I’m on my phone and I can’t buy the game until after I get back home from work!
@hahaha01357 The demo’s not up yet. It won’t be up until Apple approves the game, whenever that is.
@Highduke Glad to hear it! I love it too! WHEEEEE!

Just bought it. Can’t wait to play it! Hope it’s worth the dough
Well, Chikiamco, I just spent the entire day reading through Slammed and I’ve finished it.
I really enjoyed the game and I mean it when I say thanks for writing it.
From one writer to another as well, the writing was great. There was just the odd typo/mistake, but they were very few. Certainly nothing more than what gets missed in traditionally published books. No editing job is ever perfect.
So again, thankyou. Some of the choices were rather hard to make as well, I thought. That is when it comes to managing relationships, which is great because of the politics involved backstage. I didn’t feel the choices were hard from a stat perspective though, as long as the obvious choices were made when it comes to the matches themselves and such. (I had a technical wrestler, with some promo ability). I’m looking forward to seeing what differences there are on future playthroughs as well, as I’m guessing there’s a lot of branching involved. It’s not just a linear story, in other words, where you go through the same stories/events but with the flavor text changing. It really felt like the choices you make mattered anyway. Having everything referenced helped to give that feeling.
So, for a third time, thankyou.
I can tell a lot of work went into the game, even if it turns out there isn’t much branching. (It feels odd me referring to choice games as games.
I prefer referring to them as interactive books)
@DavidGil The amount of branching is definitely one of the things I love about Slammed! From what I recall you need at least four playthroughs to experience all the major paths, and that’s not counting the smaller branches and differences, which there are plenty of too. The chances of perfectly playing the paths to hit the endings you want are also not so great so it can take a fair amount of replaying trying to get the good endings of the scenarios you want too. (Or that might be because I’m just not a wrestling fan so I’d really no idea what I was doing in the fights.)

I’m in the U.S. and my phone is not compatible with chrome store. So I hope it is released on another platform today
It’s up on Google Play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.choiceofgames.slammed&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5jaG9pY2VvZmdhbWVzLnNsYW1tZWQiXQ… Cc @SpitfireEX
@DavidGil Hey, thank YOU for giving it a go and letting me know what you thought. Made my day and it’s only 545 am here
i think you’ll be happy with the amount of branching involved if you make different choices at certain key points, particularly Chapter 10 and onwards. Id love to hear from you in the spoler thread as to what ending you got first, and which choices you found difficult to make.
As for the relative ease of the stat checks, at least in matches, we had to tweak the difficulty down a bit after the beta. The game’s a wee bit too long for me to expect people to be willing to try again after a bad end that comes late in the game ( though I do hope people play it a dozen times of course ^_^) and some of the fights were deemed too difficult for those without a wrestling background…

I’m still waiting for it to come out on iTunes -_-
No problem, Chikiamo. I’m happy with the stat checks being easy personally as I read/play these ‘games’ for the narrative and the ability to influence it.
Wasn’t really a criticism on my end, but I can see how some might not be too happy with it. For instance, I reached the ending of Sabres of Infinity and I died. So yeah, was mildly irritated about that, as I prefer to treat these as non-games anyway. I’ll see about posting a review on Amazon.co.uk tomorrow for you. Glad to hear about the branching too!
I dunno whether to go through as a female character next, as I imagine the content’s different. Unless character names and such were reversed, as I know some games do, so less work is involved. A heel is tempting too. Anyway, I’ll work up a post in the spoiler section when I can. Approaching 12am here in the UK, so it won’t be tonight.
@Fairy Three to four play throughs to see everything would be great. And I agree, the branching/feeling like choices matter is the best part. Next to the actual narrative that is, because I felt the story itself was also strong. It really felt like a proper novel, rather than having paper thin characters and a few lines before each choice.
@DavidGil Definitely do a female character playthrough. There is different content depending on your gender. It’s not just a direct gender-flip with pronouns and names changed, there are some other differences. You fight other people, and a few of your interactions are different too. Also definitely do a heel playthrough. Being a heel, is so much fun.
Got the Slammed! app open on my tablet now, with the game’s first scene loaded. So, I intend to start a new game right now, as I’ll do a bit of quick reading/playing before going to sleep.
I’ll probably start a female or heel playthrough now (or just have a female heel), though it’s tempting to go through as a face again and see the romance I didn’t check out, as well as explore the other story paths.
Btw, there’s a specific spoiler thread created for Slammed? I couldn’t see it if so. Could be that I haven’t noticed it though, with being tired. And I think that’s my queue to boot the laptop down.
The spoiler thread got deleted because Apple hasn’t approved the game yet so it’s not considered officially released. So I guess we just can’t talk spoilers until Apple gets their act together.
BTW there’s more than two romantic paths through the game, there’s four different endings related to romantic paths, and I think there’s also an ending which is only unlocked if you’re not in a romance.

Apple is getting me mad, I REALLY want to play this
Apple loves messing with us. We must train them better…
The story just keeps getting better and better, and during the gauntlet match my heart actually started to race… FOR A STORY.
